I appreciate your honesty about your country and your plant experiments. You never come across as negative or complaining and I think it's good to express our views. My Black Cardinal is so slow growing. I think you are right that it does better in very bright light.
You are really good in propagation, i love plants, can't go on living without plants, a single day of my life seldom miss talking and caressing my plants, even eating, brushing my teeth every morning, i go with my plants... no boring moments!
I've had this plant for over 2 years and have been unable to figure out what I had. And then you made a video! You are my number one plant channel, for so many reasons, but this seals the deal! Thank you! I've been unable to get it to thrive, but now I know so much! Thanks bud!!!
I have a plant that was sold to me as a McColley’s Finale, but it looks way more like this. My plant is very dark and burgundy/rust colored. It actually flowered for me recently too! Indoors just under a grow light in my bedroom.
Interesting to learn more about the business challenges in Indonesia. Also it is encouraging for me to see how you rehab and rescue cuttings from root rot
New to you're channel here. This is the first I'm seeing your content and I love your passion for your plant friends. I'm a new plant lover and bought a black cardinal a few weeks ago and this video was super interesting! Best of luck to you and I hope your employees fall in love with plants!!
When you tear apart tropical plants , you can really see the strength they have in their little “factory” of roots and hidden growth points. It’s no wonder they take over structures long abandoned in their native forests. We just have to give them a favorable pot and location to thrive. I have become a big fan of these plants with their amazing foliage and even their chunky soil is very nice. I would water your plants for free! Lol
The growth pattern of this reminds me of my philodendron revolution. I had no idea it could be propagated this way…. I already have trouble not chopping up all my plants! I may need to try this.
Love this video! Thanks for the content and info and your joy :) you never seem negative. ❤ I have two black cardinals. One for me and one to chop and prop and trade! Or just give away and spread the love 🥹
I love your videos, I have learnt so many things from you, like propagate hoyas.. I have a huge Black Cardinal, so easy to take care of, so gorgeous... I haven't propagated it so far because it is lovely the way it is. Greetings from Poland, Irena
Woooh Ill try to. There are already a few videos and google results though. Its quite easy to detect them but only when their leaves fenestrate and grow bigger than out face
i got a variegated version of black cardinal. is there any difference in terms of care ? mine b.c. var is a baby , growing under the grow light and he’s cute as hell. btw love the jazz music in the background. thank you sean you’re amazing as always
I would give the variegated more light to prevent reversion. They are not cheap here in Indonesia. I used to not like the variegated but it grew on me when I realize how it can be elegant and so different from other loud variegated plants 😅
I LOVE Philodendron Black Cardinal but unfortunately I can't figure out how to keep them alive eventhough generally I'm very good with other Philodendrons. it's roots keep dying with even a bit of over or underwatering and the new leaves refuse to unfurl. right now I propogated it's leftovers and if it doesn't survive I won't buy this plant again. BTW I think they get more black, burgundy in a certain amount of light. in my experience they look washed out or more green in direct light. but in lots of bright but completely indirect light they get all black and burgundy
If you type in the youtube searchbox “onlyplants mix” I have episodes that detail different types of mix ❤️ I use different mix for different types of plants
Mine used to! Until I often spray fungicide and neem oil on the leaves. Try not to mist their leaves with water they can be quite suceptible to fungal/bacterial spots
Gotta love when trustfund babies complain about the work ethic of their underpaid employees... So relatable. Maybe they wouldnt feel like stealing if they were paid a living wage

fast growing here, just super close to a south window, got all the direct light of the afternoon (i'm in france, the sun is not burning too much)

🥰🥰
Another plant I love that not enough people talk about :) 🥰
I need to stop chopping it up so it can get huge. Fingers crossed haha

Just got a baby today and can’t wait to see her grow

😀😀😀
It reminds me a lot of the Philodendron Imperial Golden that I have but with a LOT more red 🤣 stunning!!!
Love this video! Thanks for the content and info and your joy :) you never seem negative. ❤

Another good plant care, I not into dark leaves but they are beautiful. Thanks again Sean.

This was so interesting and informative. Thank you. And my dark philodendrons thank you for my new knowledge.
🙏🏽😀
I love black cardinal plant🍀☘️🌱🌿
🥰🥰
I have one in low light and its huge. It grows so fast. I have it near an Northwest window
Yeah dark leafed plants can do well in low light 😀
yes very beautiful plants thanks for tips more power
Здравствуйте 🤝, обожаю 😍 смотреть ваши видео, спасибо большое 😊
Thank youuu
I’ve propagate this one too and base on experience it is so sensitive and slow grower.
Its slow at first but it becomes decent eventually
I love my cardinals … and they really are fast growers indoors here in the uk. I’d come work for you !! Lol 💚🌿👍🏻
They can be fast I guess once they are established. They are so slow to propagate though
Hi sean, could you make a video on how to tell the difference between Monstera deliciosa and borsigiana.
Woooh Ill try to. There are already a few videos and google results though. Its quite easy to detect them but only when their leaves fenestrate and grow bigger than out face
Black cardinal has always been one of my fave but have a hard time taking care of them, one seems to butnt easily even if i put it out from sunlight
You can slowly acclimatize it to more light instead of suddenly. This one has taken a bit of direct light before and it was ok.
Спасибо,за ваши видео,труд
😀😀
Have you ever tried propping in perlite? Might work better than moss given the watering struggles 🤷♀️
Ive heard good things about perlite propagation. But they are so expensive ahhh
Its very popular here in Ph Sean
Can you please share how you made your aroid potting mix?
Hello I do have an episode titled “onlyplants potting mix” do type that into the youtube search bar and you will find it 😀

It's also good in pure soil during propagation
Do you export those plant outside your country
I used to but not anymore 🙏🏽 focusing on content only
You're so Amazing...Brother...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏽😀
Can you do a storytime of why you don't live in the states anymore?
All I've heard you say is you miss it.
Haha I havent been able to find work oppportunity back in the states. Also family commitments here with ageing parents…
Its not the easiest philodendron to care for somehow. The babies in the end of the video are doing well though
Ada Kuping gajah...itu bagus...🙏
😀😀
working hard!
What are your pot mixes?
If you type in the youtube searchbox “onlyplants mix” I have episodes that detail different types of mix ❤️ I use different mix for different types of plants
Is that just regular charcoal can I use something else.
Its horticultural charcoal used for orchids. Bark works well too but nothing beats the anti-microbial properties of charcoal.
@@onlyplants thank you for the info, your awesome!
When is it not rainy season there?!
Rainy seasin is usually sept to feb… this year however it never stopped lol. We have flooding every month
Мечта...Black cardinal
Would this b a good candidate 4 a prop box?
Yes but I reserve only very expensive plants for prop box hehe. These guys should be admired in our living spaces
❤☘️
I have something like this but I thought it would be red imperial
31:32 Is this a calathea on the right? 👀
Its a kaempferia pulchra or elegans
@@onlyplants it's beautiful 😍
💚💚
What is your name
I wouldn’t chop them up like that into tiny pieces. It hurts
Mine always get brown fungal spots
Mine used to! Until I often spray fungicide and neem oil on the leaves. Try not to mist their leaves with water they can be quite suceptible to fungal/bacterial spots
Thank you
Chatting a lot.।।। Content is less.।।।। Bad
Thank you for letting me know. The newer contents are shorter and more to the point.
Gotta love when trustfund babies complain about the work ethic of their underpaid employees... So relatable. Maybe they wouldnt feel like stealing if they were paid a living wage
I would hate having other people mess up my plants. You need to get your dad to scream at them! #@$!%$!
Haha it takes killing plants to learn though.
Are you single 🙈
Your beautiful
Thank you ❤️❤️
What you've is plant abuse lol 😭😆😢
😅😅
