I love Sean's natural humor and he's the only Plantuber in my opinion who makes upates about his plants in the same video. Wait, that fern 30:30 is gorgeous!
My go-to channel for plant propagation and care. Gonna cut up my Verrucosum soon, watching this video like a last-minute revision . Thank you Sean for the great work. ❤
Sean, Black Mom's can be just as bossy. I know because I am one :-). I am proud of you and thankful for you as well. I love your videos. Such good vibes.
I've found that mixing perlite in with my moss while rooting helps with root rot. It also makes it infinitely easier to remove the moss from the roots when it comes time to pot into soil
My favorite philodendron. I have many. I grow mine in terra cotta azalea pots. They hate to be moved or repotted. Goals to have one as big as yours. Just beautiful. 💚
The plant in this video is beautiful and your explanation on how to care and cut to grow more,is always on point. Thank you, for taking the time to show your awesome collection of plants.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch. I have a lot of the same plants so I'm watching a lot of your videos now. You can tell how much you love them when you're talking about plants.
Oh this was such a great video, I just purchased my TINY little one for 35.00 usd and it's leaves are crispy and limp at the same time, it def got stressed out before I purchased it, I have put him near my grow lights, and am keeping him in spagnum moss with some humidity trays around him. I did not know they grew so fast, I'm so excited, yours are inspiring and make me so look forward to having big leafy boys!!! Thank you!
Oh my gosh you have given me hope! I got a cutting with one leaf, it put out a new leaf and then: THRIPS. There was a leaf about to open, but it did not. Now I have this rooted stem and I've got it in sphagnum moss, hoping it doesn't die. My skills have been improving (I rerooted a lithops! If you can believe that...) so I'm hopeful. I pray to the Growth goddess over its pot every day and night that it will survive 🙏
I just bought myself a baby one of these as my birthday gift to myself. It should be getting delivered today and I'm so excited! This video was perfect and informative, thank you from a fellow introvert haha
yes, i too have ordered this amazing plant today. But i am sure its a diva! So i will see it a challenge you might say cuz i always wanted one. So here goes!
I just bought a small one leaf one on etsy for $55 plus shipping. Then I saw my fave plant shop post ONE with a moss pole and 4 + leaves for $75. I can't wait to secure and get it tomorrow !!! How is yours growing :)

I've watched this video quite a few times and have been waiting to find a verrucosum here in Japan. I received my plant today and it's about the size of your little guy, with a couple of leaves. So happy. Wish me luck!
Didn't expect to laugh so much watching a plant-video. "Impaled by a Sanseveria" & "Not a spider mite ambassador/representative" made me laugh so much. Also, I just got myself a Verrucosum, so this is really helpful!
Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate that you include the updates on the propagations. And also very detailed. Keep them coming. I just acquired my first Verrucosum this week. And I scored it for like 21 US dollars with 4 baby shoots (and some other nodes). I am planning on propagating them once it acclimatize in my area. Stay safe.
Wow this is an amazing plant😍 Recently I found this beauty at a friend's property just growing on the jungle floor, I had to get a cutting, I live in Ecuador so seeing how expensive these go for is mind blowing... plants that come back from dead it really happens to me this afternoon while watering my plants i saw my calathea ornata growing i follow your advice not to dispose soil immediately thanks Sean!!!
I figured out that verrucosums are pretty thirsty compared to other philos, and they get pissed of you pretty fast (aka yellow leaves) when the medium dries out completly
First! For first time! Perfect timing - just got baby one and looking for tips. Keeping it in spag moss for now under cloche. ✨✨✨Stunning plant! ✨✨✨ That’s incredible it grew to a giant in under a year! Unfortunately, I don’t think my tiny one will be as big indoors.
I feel that with proper light and care it can get rather big quickly indoors. Their prices are actually falling which suggests that they are fast growing and easy to propagate (as my experience confirms). The most common issue is with fungal infection from indoor misting and overwatering.
Him Sean! Could you please tell me what's the best amount of Luxes/lumens for growing verrucosums? I live in an place where there is not enough of sun light.. Thanks
Ive never measured light before… but if you supplement them with any artificial light they should do ok. Try to increase humidity if you can and also treat for spidermites often. I find those to be much bigger problem than light on this species
Excellent as always. I'm going to try a wet stick in a propagator which will be an exciting challenge. Humidity in my country between 60-75 so hopefully no problem.
Will pick up my verrucusom 2 that I imported from Ecuagenera tomorrow. It will be my first plants together with the Anthurium pallidiflorum to acclimate. I took the risk even the chances of acclimating verrucusom is very challenging especially I am located on the northern part of the Philippines but I guess the climate in Jakarta is close to ours and seeing your verrucusom thriving gives me high hopes. Good luck to me. 😁
I got a rehab one and I have it in a small green house box and I would mist it and close the lid so the leaves would stay wet for some days. They have pretty much been wet the whole time Ives had it so far which is a few weeks and it looks great. But that might be because of it because it the green house protected from bacteria a lot more then if it was outside the box so this is nice to know. Because I have to take it out soon because it’s starting to push up against the top.
Great video as usual, I have noticed some Verrucosum leaves don’t have the colour your plant has, can you enlighten me as what how to keep the colour of the leaves, I wonder if the light might be too bright😊

Hi Sean, I appreciate all your videos. I really learn a lot from you. May I ask, about humidity, for us living in the tropics, do we need extra effort for plants that need humidity or do keeping them outdoors is enough?
