I thought I heard the sound of the screwdriver, which made me think that The Doctor was giving the signal to help them, which, given The Doctor, would be very in character.
WHY DOES CLARA ALWAYS SAVE THE DAY! Companions do not always get the spotlight -_- But she always did... this, the leaf from the rings episode... SHE GOT HER OWN TARDI..... *calms down*
She didn't save the day in time of the Doctor, day of the Doctor, deep breath, the caretaker, mummy on the orient express, the caretaker, dark water, death in heaven....and the list goes on. I loved that she got her own TARDIS. It was a poetic ending
Ace got the spotlight on McCoys last season. The story arc was about her & Perivalle. S6 was All About The Ponds & who the hell is River Song. 10th spent most of S3 moping about Rose at Martha's expense. Companions have saved The Doctor lots of times.
The role of the companion is to offer the human approach which the Doctor lacks as he is alien.. the human factor to coin a phrase. It's the two of them that work together. As 10th doctor said to Donna Noble... "you're right... sometimes I need someone" he would have easily walked away from the family in Fires of Pompeii until she begged him to "save someone" Sorry, but I just do not understand this hate for Clara Oswald... 😤
Yeah, I suppose that's the only explanation that makes sense really unless like Skaldak's got chopped off and the skin healed over or something dumb like that. I just think a scaly human nose, like Iraxxa's on the Ice Warrior face shown in Cold War would look so stupid.

Matt Smith's acting in this scene is really good, in my opinion.
I would really love to see Skaldak again, Kicking some serious ass with a beautiful martian fleet.
Cool males are problematic
Skaldak later played Darth Vader, in "Rogue One". Ironic, as the classic Ice Warrior commander's wore Darth Vader helmets.
As the submarine is being lifted up I hear the regeneration sound, the sound before they start regenerating, the sort of buzzing sound
Similar energy signatures?

It was the sound of the tractor beam of the ship.
@@dingbat19 yes but it reuses the regeneration sound effect
I like how at 1:25, the sonic screwdriver glows red.
Depended on a personality
Probably the "red settings" that River mentioned
"Which of us shall blink first."
Don't. Blink. Blink and you're dead.
Woe an Ice Warrior without his helmet on, I never seen that before!
Has anyone noticed scaldac's voice is the same as the sycarax leaders in the Xmas special between season's 2 & 3

Yes she did save the day in 'Day of the Doctor'.
No, she only gave motivation for the Doctor,

Visereys, Ser Davos, and Jorah Mormont all on doctor who, how many game of thrones actors are on the show damn
Arya Stark as well
Daemon
nice moment
It annoyed me how the Empress had a nose in Series 10, when this shows that Ice Warriors don't have noses.
Sexual dimorphism?

Lmao the doctor's got alot of practice in not blinking
Yeah. Seriously, who starts a staring contest with a guy having dealt with the Weeping Angels several times?
What is the soundtrack at 2:30?
They really should have stuck to the practical effects for this moment. The CGI is fucking awful.
Vanilla Nipple the reason they used CGI is because it's new who. Practical effects. Hmph that's a dream to stick with classic who..
XG CUNNINGHAM yeah, if you are looking for the worst cgi ever. I suggest checking out the amazing bulk
anything is better that Mickey being eaten by the bin in Rose lol
Vanilla Nipple stop complaining
they should not hav shown his face full stop! but yeh its awful, dated cgi is waaay worse than dated practical effects. This scene is just so cringe
are the ice warriors and silurians related
No. One is from Mars, the other from Earth.

@@cephalonsadistic9331 I personally think that it is a very interesting theory.
@@cephalonsadistic9331 the silurians were concerned with the surface of earth and its underground, same for the martians
small problem- they were under ice which means the nukes were useless anyway
The ice was the target
skaldak kinda cute ngl
This episode really pissed on my chips
Why?
Bit of an ex Machina
Humanity lived in caves 5000 years ago? xD
Is DR. Who Creationist?
its just a figure of speech, 5000 years ago was when written language was invented, the beginning of "true" history
