    About this Video:
    In this video I share my first look at the CZ Shadow 2 Orange as I first get it out of the box from purchasing it. Share a comparison of it to the CZ Shadow 2 Blue that I have modified to be my match pistol. Show you how to strip the pistol to clean it and exchange parts that have been supplied with the pistol. I show some in depth side by side comparisons of the CZ shadow 2 Orange and the CZ shadow2 blue, to show the many differences of the pistols. Also I take the pistol down the range for the first time to see how it functions. To learn about "CZ Shadow 2 Orange Unboxing" topic you must click: 👉 www.azzatac.com

      I stripped it down and compared all the springs and ended up leaving the gun as is because from what i could tell the lightest springs were what were in it. It's functioning flawlessly with everything from 115gn Black Widow semi wadcutters with minimum charges of APS 450 , to 125gn roundnose minor power AP70 handloads right up to 150gn Syntech factory loads. Although I'm not going to compete, my specialty is "Precision Accuracy"!
    I target shoot for tight groups from 25 yards, Standing Unsupported, slow fire at a 5" diameter bullseye target with a 3" X-ring. I think I know what the intrinsic accuracy of the Shadow 2 orange is after watching your videos, now I will find out my performance matches up with one of the most accurate pistols!

    I found the video to be incredibly informative, and I learned a great deal about the Shadow. My Shadow Orange has a plastic plunger for the recoil spring, instead of using a steel bushing in the slide. Is the plastic bushing a new change?

  • @precisionmarksman5084
    @precisionmarksman5084 2 роки тому +3

    Although in your comparison of both pistols, you mention that the greater accuracy from the Shadow Orange comes from the tight fit of the barrel locking lugs to the slide, CZ states in there advertisement for the Shadow Orange, that the accuracy does come from the custom bushing. CZ also states that the custom bushing set up in the "accu Shadow 2" is where it gets its accuracy.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +2

      Correct mate. But when you measure the tolerance of the orange bushing vs the blue bushing they are the same. I was a little disappointed at this point as having the removable bushing will allow a tighter fit and there greater accuracy from the bushing. But that just wasn't the case for my Orange. Let me know what the difference is between the measurements of outside diameter of your barrel is compared to the inside of your bushing? Thanks for all your comments I appreciate it!

    • @precisionmarksman5084
      @precisionmarksman5084 2 роки тому +3

      @@azzatac9763 Even though your measurements show that there is greater vertical measurement for the Shadow 2 bushing where as the Orange bushing has uniformity all round??

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +2

      Correct mate. I just expected it the orange bushing to be a tighter fit than it is on my Pistol. If I was to fit it myself it would be only just able to fit on the barrel.

  •  3 роки тому +5

    Front sight is also different, in my opinion it is better because not a pin holds it in place like the blue`s sight but a screw at the back of the sight. (Because of the bushing, there is no place for the holder pin). Also be careful with the main (hammer) spring which you put back. It is true that it has the same length as Emantech spring but it is much much stronger. (The steel is thicker.) The factory "strong" main spring is around 16lb, the light is around 13-14. I use Emantech 9 lb main spring. The SA move is ~4 mm for the blue, ~2 mm for the orange, and with short reset disconnector (for example with Emantech disco) it can be 0 mm.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks mate. As I said it would have been good for them to be marked. I use the 7lb main spring.
      And true the front sight is different, I missed in the video, because it was actually the 1st time I looked at it. I agree with you that it is better and it looks a lot like a Tanfoglio front sight and that is why I probably over looked it, I have only recently changed to CZ for my Production gun. I will mention the sight in my accuracy video coming soon. Thanks again for your comment it is appreciated.

    I wanted to touch base with you and let you know about the superb accuracy from my Shadow 2 Orange. Not being in PPC competition any longer, my main focus is target accuracy at 25 yards. Shooting 5 or 10 shot groups. Standing unsupported (no rest) , and shooting "slow fire" single action, I shot 5 rounds of Winchester (active duty) 115gr. fmj into the 3" diameter bullseye X-ring. The 5 round group measured just 1.25"s! My Shadow 2 Orange is stock with no modifications. My goal is to eventually shoot a 1/2 to 1" (5 shot group) from 25 yards standing unsupported without a rest.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +2

      G'day Precision that is really good to hear and wow that is some good shooting from 25y unsupported. The main reason I changed the spring set up in mine was to lighten up the double action and reduce the reset of the trigger to match my CZS2. Thanks for letting me know and good luck with reducing your groups even further.

    Need some additional input. Being a retired Police Officer, I've carried a handgun off duty for years and now, intend to carry my CZ Shadow 2 Orange. I intend to extensively practice with my CZ Shadow 2 Orange. I also intend to carry it concealed wherever I go. I know its a large frame and heavy pistol, but that never impeded my carrying a 1911 pistol. My question is with this particular pistol if I carry it for personal protection, should it be carried in single action with safety on "cocked and locked"? or hammer down, in "double action mode"?

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +2

      My advice would be to carry it the way you shoot it at the range. If you shoot it from the hammer down position in practice do that and vice versa. For me if I was to carry my cz it would be in the hammer down position because that is how I use it all the time. Hope this helps with your decision?

    Being that you have used the CZ Shadow 2 models extensively, I would greatly appreciate your opinion. I have seen on other videos, where the host has suggested, that the weakest point in the CZ Shadow 2s are the Trigger return spring and Trigger pin, also the slide stop. They said these are most prone to breakages. Have you experienced, or scene these sort of breakages?

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +2

      G'day precision I have heard of the trigger spring breaking but have never seen it. At the club I shoot at we have a lot of CZ club guns and they get around 1000 rnds a week and the main thing that breaks on the is the slide stop. I have had none break in mine. My original one in my blue cracked and then I deburred it and it still works fine. My suggest is to deburr the slide stop after around 200 rnds have been fired with the new slide stop. Also continual realising the slide on an empty chamber from the fully open position does not help the life of the slide stop. As for the trigger axis pin, I run the Eemanntech competition one in my pistols it is so much easier to disassemble with it installed and I have had no dramas what so all with it. Azza Tac I live in New England and for some reason 3-gun isn’t as popular here. Can’t find a club that isn’t hours away so I’ll stick to pistol for now. Yes, I have the other two guns required. An AR-15 which started its life as a Ruger but I’ve swapped out so much of it over the years I think it’s lower is the only thing original. Little on the heavy side for competition but it will do the job. I have a 1-6 powered optic on it which should be ok for 3-gun. For shotgun I have a mossberg 930 JM Pro. Decent out of the box competition gun. I only needed to throw on a +5 mag extension (10 rnd cap now), a larger bolt release button, and an aluminum forearm retainer (the stock plastic one left a little play in the forearm). It’s no Benelli M2 but I’m not playing those prices at this stage. I’m sure as I gain experience and learn from more experienced folks I’ll have a better idea what I should focus on for upgrades. For now what I have is fine to start I think

      Nice mate. Depends on your budget and if you are planning on having a back up gun? If can afford to buy the orange and buy another as a back up that is what I would suggest but you will still have to send money on them to get the triggers right. If you don't have this budget I would buy the shadow 2 mate with the intent of buying a second one and setting them up exactly the same and then testing them to see which one is better and use that as your comp gun and the other as your practice back up gun.

    Hi sir did you find out the lbs of the spare recoil springs?

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  3 роки тому

      Gday mate. I didn't. I just put them in the gun and felt which one was the lightest. My advise is to buy your own so you know what you are using. I use the 10lb EemannTech comp recoil spring. I have them for sale at www.azzatac.com if you would like one? Thanks for your comment.

      Well starting off. I'm from California. And the s2 is off roster.. so I found one that I can but.. but the price is just violating me.... $2500🤢 but out the door is $2850. So I put 35% down. So they would hold it for me.. but it sickness me that, people in the state right next to me are getting it $1500. OTD....
