  • Taking the world wide gun industry by surprise, CZ has unveiled a new and improved Shadow. At first, we admittedly were skeptics, mostly because we try not to buy into hype, but we were pleasantly surprised!
    CZ makes fine firearms and we cant wait to see wait else they come out with. Until then.... Let's enjoy the CZ Shadow Compact 2!

      Just get a P01 and run it or change its internals to your specs, you will still save money. That comes with a proper decocker and Firing Pin Block. If for some reason you do not like DA, you can easily train cocking into your draw with the ergonomics, although I personally train mostly on firing that DA shot first. Defensive firearms use is mostly going to be a very physical up close and personal affair that may have people grappling over and dropping firearms.

      I had an opportunity to get it online several time. Heck even had the opportunity to order it online and pick up locally but refused to do it saying that I wanted to hold it first because I didn’t think it would be any different than the full size. Just a 1” smaller shadow 2 full size. Of course just holding it and feeling the extreme weight difference I had to see how it was on the range. The performance was impressive and I’m not easily impressed by guns given I’ve owned nearly 300 at any given time and sold or traded most of them. I am skeptical about the aluminum Frame on the new Shadow compact. I know many manufacturers have pistols that share aluminum Frames with Steel slides. However, I remember somewhere hearing that the combination of both different metals, (aluminum being a softer metal) than steel might eventually cause galling and wear from the friction between both Frame and Slide. Whereas a steel Slide sliding on a steel Frame stays true.

    • @GSquaredTactical

    • @chrisragone8785

      Actually it was steel on steel specifically stainless steel slides and frames that galled. And that was fixed decades ago.
      Absolutely ZERO reason to be apprehensive about steel slide/aluminum alloy frame pistols. They are well proven!

      I had around 15000 rounds through my P226 when it was stolen and never had any galling or any other abnormal wear. Most current 1911s are aluminum. It is just fine and most people buying these guns will never put enough amm down the pipe to wear out the rails.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  8 місяців тому +5

      I carry it with one in the pipe, 1/4 cocked with safety off. I let the DA trigger be my safety. I don’t care for the safety as it’s not easy to manipulate by hand but also doesn’t lock into place as positively as a 1911 which makes me uncomfortable, carrying it, cocked and locked. @@GSquaredTacticalsir would you mind explaining, why the manufacturer did not care to put in Fire pin block, i know that decocker makes an impact on trigger performance so thats understandable this being a competition gun, but why not FPB?
      Thanks.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  6 місяців тому +2

      Believe me if you scour the Internet, you will find heated debates on that topic because it’s not just this manufacturer that chooses not to install firing pin safety’s. There are those that believe the already existing safeties will work fine, and the possibility of it being dropped at a high enough distance, and hitting perfectly in such a way to cause the firing pin to discharge the round is so very unlikely that it is a non-issue. As far as why the manufacture chose not to. I can’t say definitively why that is if it had something to do with performance or otherwise, I’m really not sure maybe we could email Cz and see what kind of response we get concerning the matter. I don’t agree with that. I know tons of people who carry revolvers as their edc in which case they’d always be practicing and in the event something went down reacting in a double action sequence. This is a double action gun so chambering a round and lowering the hammer to use from double action isn’t an issue for me. As hairpin as that trigger is in single action and as easy as it is to knock off the safety I just wouldn’t feel comfortable with that, but that’s only my opinion. @@MP5GUY-sn2ny How did you figure that one out? I believe the manufacturer decided not to install a decocking lever because it would slow down the performance of the gun. Nevertheless, the gun still has a safety mechanism so it won't fire unless the trigger is depress. I carry mine holstered in my pocket, with one in the chamber half cock, if I feel something brewing I have my hand on the grip and ready to disengage the safety as soon as I pull it out of my pocket. What I wouldn't do is lower the hammer fully down with one in the chamber and risk a misfire. I also wouldn't have it in full cock position with one in the chamber and count only on the safety lever from it misfiring. Furthermore, I would never carry a gun unless I have one in the chamber. So in my humble opinion, half cock with the safety on the lock position is the best way to carry this gun.

      @@GSquaredTactical correction, I carry half cock not in full cock position. I wouldn't carry in single action either. So we agree on that one.

      I fairly quickly got use to it and so did Trey. I haven’t done it in last 400 rounds or so but I did shoot it a ton after this video focusing on trigger work. Thanks for watching and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

    Most people would rather have a decocker to drop hammer on live round without having to press the boom pedal! Why they did this who knows but that would be the only reason I wouldn't buy it because its not to safe to manually drop hammer on live round! Pretty cringy considering they marketed this as a carry gun and the price!

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  8 місяців тому +2

      Like on most if not all 75 models, you can purchase a decocker for this pistol and swap out the thumb safety for the decocker, and that is a fairly easy thing to do. I realize that just incurs more cost but it is an option. Seemingly there are a ton of people that do not mind carrying the gun cocked and locked they do not consider it any different than carrying a single action, 1911 cocked and locked.

      They make plenty of decocker models. It would ruin the vibe of the gun with it.

    Locked and cocked is not a safety issue.
    All the stupidness about "safely decocking" an sa/da safety only pistol is mis placed.
    One is farore likely to have an accidental discharge whiles fingering and fuckin around with the hammer and trigger.
    Just flip the safety to safe and use your damn head.

      Nah just manually drop the hammer and keep the better trigger that you’re going to lose with a decocker. Thanks for watching
