As someone living in New Zealand this was the highlight of the movie... He said New Zealand! Nobody from Hollywood mentioned or acknowledged New Zealand's existence back then...
God I love this scene. While Utah is clearly not there to let him walk or have his moment with the waves, there's still respect between them. Bodhi feels the same way, and it shows with such simple dialogue. Commenting he 'knew he could count on Utah', asking him if he still surfs. In the midst of explaining how far he went to track him down, clearly still aiming to arrest him and make him pay for his role in everything... he still takes the time to answer Bodhi with the truth, and shows the influence Bodhi had on him. I love that small nod of Bodhi, a hint of a smile, proud of Johnny for continuing to embrace life to the fullest rather than who he used to be. I like to think that influence led to Johnny tossing his badge in the ocean, walking away from that life and starting anew. I might be way off but just my thoughts from this scene. I'm glad Bodhi got the ending he wanted, going out the way he wanted: all go, no stop. RIP Patrick. You were such an amazing talent.

Tears flowed down my face when Bodhi said " You know there's no way I can handle a cage" It's a message to people to get out of the cage they are living in.
6:25 is heartbreaking when Johnny knows this will be the last time he sees or speaks to Bodhi, no matter what these two have been through and even if they are on different sides of the law, they remember how they met, and they became friends and bonded only like best friends can bond, especially when Bodhi backed Johnny up against those punks from before. If Johnny didn't truly care for Bodhi then he wouldn't have let him go out the way he wanted to. To me the most heartbreaking aspect of it all is the friendship had to come to an end because of them being on both sides of the law, and I feel that Johnny was hurt from this and he knew his life as FBI agent was done, he couldn't go back to that life anymore especially when it took his best friend, no matter what Bodhi chose as a lifestyle, he always had Johnny's back and loved him like a brother.

It's one of the movies that's far more layered and nuanced than it has any right to be, it's such a slow burn movie but not cuz of a lack action, but actual time spent with these characters, you actually learn to love and hate them in equal measure, it's funny how this movie alone is the reason (unfortunately) was the prototype for The Fast and The Furious

If I'm not mistaken, I remember this swell; 1990 I think. I was an early teenage boy who started to surf couple of months ago before this swell hit the Caribbean, where I was. Strange as it could have been, studying in a school which it was in front the ocean, the sea was almost flat by the time I arrived in the morning. I took a look at sea as always and kept walking to my classroom. By midday, walking to the lunchroom of the school and taking a look at the sea I saw incredible big waves hitting the coast. I was amazed, confused and scared watching the sea on a big swell just in a couple hours. Then, all that season my father took through all the north shore of the island and what we saw were the biggest waves hitting the coast we ever seen to these days. So, for me this is a great, great movie involving facts of the lore of surfing while having such a great drama or plot, script and direction and history facts, which I believe of and saw it by myself those swell facts.

Actually he became a cop and save a bunch of passengers on a bus
Johnny!
Hahahaha that's fuckin funny right there
And does Kung Fu.
All the while becoming a legendary secret assassin
The ending is epic it shows friends and the love you have for your friends runs deep no matter what side of the law you’re on.
That third come on by Swayze amazing acting. I believe it is the reason he let his friend go.
Three times 😂!
I got Goosebumps when he said... ''He's not coming back''
I was just rock hard, ROCK HARD! But then again I was the whole time, THE WHOLE TIME!
Hits hard now after Patrick is gone. That line “he’s not coming back” put me in tears
No way he wants to sit in prison for the rest of his life, Utah let him go because he knew he was probably going to commit suicide. Great movie for the ages. R.I.P. Patrick.......
6:36 "Vaya con Dios", means "Go with God". He knew that surf wave was suicide. Buddhie already said "If you want the ultimate, you got to pay ultimate price".
Spihk Heartbust!? Go now quickly & Analyze & Discuss why Bozeman Hotmail Recipient was automatically informed about Liston Server Stones Younger brother Severe back injury
He definitely did not go with God lol.
I love this movie until I pass 😊
And in Portuguese its vai com deus
Rest in peace and power Patrick Swayze (1952-2009)
🌹🌹🌹
Well said mate.
He's like the wind or dust in it.
Bodhi was such a ferocious paddler that he could stand on the beach waiting for his set. Most of us have to sit out in the lineup.
I love how even though Johnny liked Bodhi and even respected him he still says "You gotta go down. It's gotta be that way."
"it's not tragic to die doing what you love"
One of the Greatest movie endings. Ratt's song Nobody rides for free fits perfectly. In all honesty Nobody really Rides for free.
I agree. By the way, this ending reminds me of the first Fast & Furious movie.
I wished this move would never end. I wanted it to go on forever.
I felt the same way, never wanting Jake E. Lee's guitar solo at the end of "Bark at the Moon".
Same here, I honestly loved the idea of surfing, sad it wasn’t basically on that more
" I'm not gonna paddle to New Zealand. "
Thank you so much Patrick , I love all your movies , most defiantly one of my hero’s , truly missed , “ Point Break “ the last scene at the 50 yr old storm , I watch it all the time “ thank you for the memories🙏🏽
Patrick Swayze was so damn good in this man. Legendary performance
The bravest thing Johnny did was wear a denim jacket in that downpour. That’s savage!
FFS 😂😂 that got me
What?❤
Yeah, like a sponge. Doubles in weight when wet. Doesn’t dry easily. Isn’t warm when wet. Doesn’t retain heat when wet. Fighting in wet jeans and jean jacket…bad dude or poor choice from wardrobe people persons.
Jens, vestuario de los 90
He's some man for one man and let's not forget he done the DD. DOUBLE DENIM. Incredibly brave
Excellent movie....I watched this probably over 100x growing up
“Cliffs on both sides I’m not gonna paddle to New Zealand!” lol epic.
This was best Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze movies of all time. They both acted really good in this one. Now this was the real Point Break movie. Not that new version it's got nothing on this movie of it. 👍👍❤️❤️👍👍
I like how the "Death on a stick mate" guy is holding a damn cigarette in that friggin monsoon.
One of the best movies ever made…severely underrated.
😅🤣😂 Yeah right.
You don't know what that word means to you
@@WildlifeWarrior-cr1kk Are you a Richard in real life or just play one on the internet?
@@DWilliam1 I don't know what a Richard is
Bodhi survived, and as Utah was no longer with the FBI, they resumed robbing banks together all over the world. But mainly near good surfing spots.
He joined the LAPD three years later, guided Sandra Bullock driving a city bus that was rigged to explode if it dropped 50 mph, then he took down a retired police officer-turned mad bomber
And had a 3 way with Tyler.
Yeah...this is the real ending.
"You crossed the line and people trusted you and died" Superb script. Powerful words
Swayze's reaction to getting cuffed as he's put a beat down on Keanu was trully gripping and powerful
Facts 💯! Johnny’s partner was killed cause Johnny couldn’t arrest him
This was my favorite movie back in the day ❤
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how cool the old school Land Rover defenders are?
RIP Patrick Swayze still sadly missed
In high school we had nicknames from the characters of this movie. Love it.
Man, you guys are my fuckin Heroes !
Amazing movie that’s not forget amazing song from Ratt.” Nobody rides for free” how perfect.
Pode assistir 500 vezes, a mesma emoção....excelente elenco, filme top
How much awesomeness did the world lose when Patrick swayze passed?
Epic movie. One of the best ever made.
"We'll get him when he comes back in! ...he's not coming back"
fight looked real, it wasn't phony and didn't drag on forever. it was quick and to the point.
Patrick swayze…. Such a legend
Sometimes I watch this movie when it stars Keanu and swayze, sometimes when I watch it it has Paul Walker and vin Diesel. It's weird
Swayze was the Steve McQueen of his time. One Cool Dude 😎!
Bubbles liked him.
Like McQueen, Swayze was "taken too soon"!.
When Keanu & Swayze were at their peak Manliness
boodie had balls to live free his way till the bitter end god bless him
He Knew he had a Price To Pay & He went on His terms
VAYA CON DIOS!... uffff.. great actors .. awesome scene ... excellent movie... and the remake
Thanks for the flash back, I first saw this Epic film in the early 90s. Way Underrated.
This film is underrated in my opinion
Best bro moment in history of cinema rip patrick Swayze.
I keep replaying 6:56. The match of the image of the wave in slow motion with those strings/sinthesizers sounding...there is something primal there, something deep which i can't quite identify. Goosebumps of biblical proportions.
The vastness of Jehovah's seas mixed with his crowning creation's (man) Passion willing to die free than rot ages.
All that emotion and power summed up in one scene.
This proved man wasn't only flesh. He was willing to die for his passion. He was more
If I'm not mistaken, I remember this swell; 1990 I think.
Plot twist, he did infact paddle to New Zealand, Utah later met him there similar to the end of Shawshank Redemption.
No clue why, but definitely one of my favorite film endings ever. It's very fitting.
I know why! Well, actually no, I have no clue why either... very strange.
Definitely one of the best endings... That avi of your is kick ass!
3:51 *that kick is everything*
Just what you need in a rainstorm- jeans and a jean jacket from 1990.
This is truly one of the greatest endings of all time.
“He’s not coming back” if only we all knew how true those words were then. He will always be missed
