I feel like if you attach a metal line to the other end of it then it'll be perfect as they wouldn't be able to chew through metal.
I watch two pest control UA-cam channels and one of them from America has a major flaw in their solutions to stopping rats. They use plastic parts to cover pipes or replace broken pipe pieces with plastic. The rats will easily chew through the plastic.
But they are the best I've seen so far because they go into crawl spaces , into a person's attic no matter how difficult it is , cut a hole in a person's wall to find broken pipes and use smoke to find broken pipes.
They also invented an addon to the traditional wooden snap trap with a hood over the trigger and base for stability which seems to work very well.
Here in Ireland I haven't found a good pest control to help me get rid of rats that invaded my house 7 months ago.
It's not bad, butt it seems like it could have a few minor adjustments to make it better
I have a trap similar to that. It has a handwritten label that has instructions and says pat. pend. From the chewing on the door, it caught a lot of mice, and also one hamster that got loose.
That's a fancy mouse trap, made out of Cherry too!

Pet mice at the Woods Residence are lawyered up and safe for now.
@@sativagirl1885 they were able to retain their lawyer without having to pay a fee. The get a Family member discount. Lawyers being that they're rats and all.
Besides showing them on your channel, what do you do with all these mousetraps? I feel like you could open your own mousetrap museum with that many traps.
I grew up about 45 minutes to an hour south of Port Royal. Been to Port Royal quite a few times for Sprint car races.
I still use victor quick kill traps I don't want to set it outside

I would be starting to think of selling some of those traps soon Shawn as the economy is going to crash and your traps will be useless.
Collectors items don't really care about the economy, unless people are trying to profit from them. Doesn't seem like he's doing that.
This is a ridiculously awful trap. And certainly does not "work extremely well." Especially not in a barn setting. How many mice scurried in and out of it without triggering it before one was, most likely, just unlucky enough to be "the one" that bumped it just right? It's good for a souvenir, which is what it was designed for, not practical use.
I'm curious, just what is it about this that is ridiculously awful?
I think it's pretty nice. It certainly looks good. Almost furniture.
It only had 2 runaways. And they got away without springing the trap. When that third one came along, the trap was still armed and ready. And it did it's job. And the mouse wasn't able to escape from the trap overnight.
The truly awful traps have flaws that render it useless.
Such as a mouse approaches the trap and just by poking around, the trap is sprung. Without catching the mouse. Then it is just a feeding station.
Another particularly annoying defect is that it catches the mouse, but the mouse is able to escape pretty quickly. Usually damaging the trap in the process.
Of course the worse are the ones that are the most awful are the live traps that end up killing the mouse, or the kill trap that catches the mouse but only ends up maiming the mouse. So it's a torture device instead of a trap.
I'm really curious about which horrible defect the trap in this video had that I missed noticing.

@censusgary It not to be hyped up as this amazing mouse trap and not just a commemorative decorative piece when it failed considerably that we know of, never mind what we don't know of that was omitted during editing.
