If the company could rest your mind regarding the safety of the product (not harmful to animals who eat these killed rats) then I can imagine them paying you big bucks to use this vid in their advertising :-)

When I was a kid I had four cats I found as kittens abandoned in an old barn. They were almost dead so I took them back to our farm and got them healthy again. A year later Grandpa put out rat poison and all my cats died one by one because they were eating the dead rats and mice. So, yes, I totally agree about poisons.

I usually ignore the 1 and 5 star reviews. The 2, 3, and 4 tend to have tips to help.
Same here.
So true!
Truth. Though I also skim over the 1 stars for proper reviews of negative experiences. You know, anything over 3 words…
I don't get it
I wasn’t expecting you to dump out the whole bag and was even more shocked to see how much of it the rats ate.
Maybe the 1 star reviews are from people who only used small portions?
Maybe they didn't mix it with seeds
The issue with using it in a home is that the rats tend to have better options for food. This is why they didn’t have success using it. Simply mixing the Rat X with peanut butter makes it a great snack for rats in a home.
Chances are those 1 star reviews were from people not mixing the Rat X and expecting the rats to pick the poison over crackers, cookies, cereals, and other goodies that are just as available and taste better.
I am sure they have other food sources available everywhere.
How much is needed
That is very likely

Excellent video, thanks. The most effective bait I've found is a 50/50 mix of cement & flour. Works all the time, inexpensive & is easy to make.
I know this is an old video, but I would like to point out that I was trying to poison a rat, but it kept coming back and eating over and over, so I set up in an elevated position and when the rat came to eat, I shot it. While sitting there feeling sorry for the rat, another rat the same size and color came along to eat. I shot it and soon enough another the same size and color came to eat. After a few hours there were over 20 dead rats the same size and almost the same color laying dead at that feeding location.
So, I purchased a half dozen traps and started getting sometimes 5 to 6 a day. Turns out there is a dumpster company nearby and 1/4 mile down the railroad tracts was a feed mill. They were coming from there. So I started putting rat poison all over my yard and under my house and in the attic. It took months of this to eventually weed them down to getting one every few months. A new company purchased the dumpster and roll-off company and remodeled and upgraded their facility and started placing traps and bait stations. The feed mill sold to a tree service company so there is only wood and wood ships there now.
The point is people may think it is the same rat coming to eat over and over.

The way it sounds to me, Rat-X is basically a cookie that exploits the rat’s digestive system while being just a cookie to everything else.
Would be great to look back what are the opinions of long term.
Pretty much just biological exploitation, there are things that humans can't digest that some animals can't and vice versa. I'm pretty confused. Why did they claim it's a poison?
The passion this guys shows for his work is amazing.
For sure! Some folks find rodent control and bug control gross. This guy makes it look so interesting and fun.
Shawn, we had a big rat problem caused by an unattended storage building nearby. I made a covered bait station out of two oil drain pans, one larger than the other and held above it by some wood. I fed the rats sunflower seeds for almost a week, and then introduced the Rat-X. Within three days almost all of the rats are gone. I realize you will never eliminate all of the rodents, but the level of control acheived using this product is almost unbelievable. Thanks for the tip!

I assume the people not having luck have rats that are eating from better food sources. If they have an unlimited supply of their favorite food somewhere else then they are not going to eat bait that may taste good because they're already full of "great" food.
