When I was a kid I had four cats I found as kittens abandoned in an old barn. They were almost dead so I took them back to our farm and got them healthy again. A year later Grandpa put out rat poison and all my cats died one by one because they were eating the dead rats and mice. So, yes, I totally agree about poisons.

The issue with using it in a home is that the rats tend to have better options for food. This is why they didn’t have success using it. Simply mixing the Rat X with peanut butter makes it a great snack for rats in a home.
Chances are those 1 star reviews were from people not mixing the Rat X and expecting the rats to pick the poison over crackers, cookies, cereals, and other goodies that are just as available and taste better.

I know this is an old video, but I would like to point out that I was trying to poison a rat, but it kept coming back and eating over and over, so I set up in an elevated position and when the rat came to eat, I shot it. While sitting there feeling sorry for the rat, another rat the same size and color came along to eat. I shot it and soon enough another the same size and color came to eat. After a few hours there were over 20 dead rats the same size and almost the same color laying dead at that feeding location.
So, I purchased a half dozen traps and started getting sometimes 5 to 6 a day. Turns out there is a dumpster company nearby and 1/4 mile down the railroad tracts was a feed mill. They were coming from there. So I started putting rat poison all over my yard and under my house and in the attic. It took months of this to eventually weed them down to getting one every few months. A new company purchased the dumpster and roll-off company and remodeled and upgraded their facility and started placing traps and bait stations. The feed mill sold to a tree service company so there is only wood and wood ships there now.
The point is people may think it is the same rat coming to eat over and over.

Soooooo glad I came across your channel! I have an issue with roof rats. The weather is starting to break so we’re hearing activity in the attic and seeing droppings in the garage. I recently purchased this and coated it in peanut butter to really entice them. I put a small pile down in the garage and had my camera set up... unfortunately when the rat decided to make its appearance I was distracted and didn’t scan the footage. But the bait was gone. I put down a glue trap( edges coated with p.b bait in the middle and some around it. I’ll be more vigilant with reviewing the footage.

Thanks for the information! Great to see an effective and (supposedly) safe product, and good to see how you make the rats comfortable with taking it. Unfortunately now the only rats that are left are the ones that won't eat that bait and they will pass that trait on to their offspring, so it may not be effective on your local population in the future.

Should add oil instead. So they don't eat the seeds and leave the bait
