omg
You should do a video breaking down the different types of RATS
hotmail huh, showing your age there
What qualifies as a "fanart"? Must it be drawn by hand?
I drew a primitive arrow once with oil pastels or chalk once and it kind of looked like a cave painting
Native animals : calm.
Non-native animals: freak out.
I think they know your plans for them, Shawn.
They watch his channel, that's why he so often runs into issues with rodents being excessively wary of new contraptions :)
There's a reason why non-native species are so prolific. They know how to survive.
They don't want to be deported.
*humanely dispatch intensifies..
Heard the skunks and raccoons talking about what they often get at the nearby Wood Log Buffet.
Squirrel, Chipmunk, & Packrat: **Calm in trap**
Brown Rat: **AHHH IM GON DIE!**
Well he knows he is an invasive and non native rat so he is going to end up dead.
When you cross the border and forget to bring your passport!
The last rat has obviously seen this channel.
He must have gone over to the pack rat's place and watched shawn's videos on a stolen Iphone......
@@muskokamike127 lol oh that's a good one. Pmsl
He has heard the legends of the rats and mice disappearing
@@Halocraft021 the rat: OMG THE LEGEND HIMSELF SHAWN WOODS!!
He goes
*NO NOOO YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS NOOOO*
The rat watches Mousetrap Monday and was smart enough to know it was a non native species and it was gonna get the “humane dispatch”
Shawn is more humane with the CO2 than me with the trashcan filled with water.
I feel like we should have a vote.
I highly doubt it. Just different instincts.
Every time Shawn says chipmunks I'm expecting to hear "moles, voles and gophers, stay tuned"
😂my thoughts exactly
Same lol!
Non-native Invasive Rat: "NOOOOO, YOU CAN'T JUST HUMANELY DISPATCH ME!!!"
Shawn: "Haha, CO2 cartridge goes pssshhh"
Good one lol
No i think it will go pssssssshhhhhh
@@alejandrolara8936 Thanks for the suggestion! I updated the original.
What is that thing? I've never seen it before.
@@Dr_Mauser it's a CO2 cartridge attached to what looks like a valve that has a tire air valve screwed into it. in other videos shawn has showed how he humanely dispatches some of the rodents. if i remember right he puts them in a jar or something and the lid has a hole in it where he would insert that tire valve. then he lets the CO2 gas out into the jar. it displaces the oxygen rich air and the rodents pass out and eventually die due to lack of oxygen
The cage saved that little squirrel’s life!
Sean Emmanuel Elizarde it’s a live catch rat
No, he wouldn't have been exposed to the hawk if it wasn't for the cage.
Little guy probably made up a few words to shout as he shat himself.
It's probably why the other two left the site before the hawk's attack.
@@216trixie Yeah, but notice how the squirrel wasn't aware of the hawk until it was right onto him.
"We're gonna let him go." Squirrel runs free. Hawk picks up free meal.
Did that Happen
we don't know
That's the ideal. Native or not, those ground squirrels are super destructive.
Rules of Nature
He actually saved the squirrel from getting snatched by a hawk🐿
Live traps save lives
Blessing and a curse
Let's say the tomahawk saved it from the hawk.
Gato de las Sombras 🤣
Poor hawk
That last rat looked like he was saying “please let me go”
Nah...that rat watched Shawn Woods' videos. He knew what was next...
@@DDRUTOU
If he watched, he'd never have gone near his barn - never mind his traps.
Amplify ain’t that serious 🤣
His cries scared my pet rats, that was new, the cries were pretty loud though.
No, he was saying: "You better let me out of this trap right now, you *@%$^!"
I love how the animals don't leave the trap until Shawn verbally gives them instructions about which way to go. 🤓
They're definitely paid actors
Wait for it!
Shawn: Now because it's a non-native invasive species--
Rat: GET..ME..OUTTA HERRRRE
The cries of the rat sent my pet rats into their hides. I've not seen this before with Shawn's videos, it was a interesting event.
Did they show signs of trauma/ behavioral changes in the aftermath? (Insensitive but genuine question)
@ If that Norway rat really felt that, it would sit quietly like that pack rat, but rather, instead of that, it cried out and tried to bite Shawn's hand at any opportunity it got, leading me to believe that it was, in fact, just very, very angry.
@@bensoncheung2801 Some rats are just like that , i have caught some that start squeling as soon as you go near the trap, they are the biters, others simply run back and forth PANICING but other are dis-associated from everything mildly awaiting thier fate.
I'm more impressed with the agility of the rat at 5h39, he almost exit the trap
Yes i noticed thats too. Thats was fast reflex.
I saw that too, It would be great to see that in slow motion.
Crazy reflexes.
5:39 He had turned himself around before the door fully closed.

5:39 Pause/stop, then period ( . ) for frame-by-frame forward; comma ( , ) backwards.
not fast enough tho still got caught
Forever entertaining and educational! It's very cool to get the kids involved early -- I foresee a lifelong love of animals in store for them. Thanks!
Love the Hawk scene, gave that poor Squirrel a hell of a scare.
shawn: lets go catch a non native rat
rat: *gets caught*
shawn: DISPATCH RAT!
rat: NOOOOOOO
Likey was scared Shawn was going to hand it to Joseph Carter...
It’s a bit like the DIE POTATO meme but it’s a rat.
see how fast the thing was? if the trap wasn't so fast it would have escaped....damn that thing was like greased lightning....
"I'm going to take this into the wild and let it free"
(Chucks it into the neighbours garden)
This cracks me up
That was a cool fanart of a cooking raccoon. :D
I like the little piece of chopped mushroom.
huh this video had everything, action, horror (the hawk), suspense, romance, three good endings and one mystery ending with that rat
It even has a spoiler for the next episode! 😅

@@gamersunited4713 Backstory?
It's amazing to see so many different species all living in the same area this channel is about so much mor than just trapping rodents keep up the good work!:)
Considering what tends to happen to non-native species, I don't think you should take this as an allegory for anything
he does tend to make rounds to the farming neighbors to test traps
lot of it is on his property, but i think i remember he had been convincing said neighbors to use alternatives to poison on pests
When the brown rat saw the CO2 cartridge he went ballistic.
The “teaser” about using a dead rat for raccoon bait will definitely bring me back for more! 👍🏼👍🏼
1:33 "Phil? Is that you? Holy crap, dude!"
"Jake, you gotta bust me outta here! I can't do another nickel in the joint!"
The rat at 5:53 is like please don’t kill me
4:00 the rat is like: Wow, thank you for that marvelous introduction! Lol!
Squirrel: *Almost gets attacked by a hawk*
"You know, maybe being in a cage isn't so bad"
5:37 i'm very surprised that the rat almost escape.
Rats have some impressive reflexes...
I’m a trapper by trade, we use mostly tomahawks for cage traps. They’re built very well and are very versatile
1:32 You know that was probably his mom, right? And now he’s miles away from his family.
Let the Disney movie begin...
5:55 4th time the charm! I imagine that rat is like “so... Shawn... are you going to let me go like the other three? ... Shawn?”
Good observation but likely just another member of its colony. Ground squirrels are social like groundhogs.
@@jaythomas3180 nope, that was normal squirrel, not a ground squirrel at all
Igor Svačić no that was a ground squirrel
Monroville HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!! Let the Disney Movie begin!! Shawn? What are going you going to do with that thing? 🐭
5:55 That rat wasn't asking, it was demanding. (It tried to bite Shawn's hand, several times)
When I read Tomahawk Trap in the notification box, I thought it would fling a tomahawk at the pest.
i thought it was gonna be a massive stone tomahawk that comes down like a guillotine blade
Lmfao
Uses bait to catch rat, uses rat to catch racoon, uses racoon to catch coyote, uses coyote to catch tiger, uses tiger to catch elephant uses elephant to catch blue whale.
Now, this is a non-native blue whale, so we're going to have to humanely dispatch it and feed it to Iceland and Japan.
Non-native to... The ground? lol.
Use the whale to catch a hoard of Greenpeace activists 😂
capnarrr HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa! That was good!
uses Iceland and Japan to catch ʻOumuamua.
now 'Oumuamua is a non-native comet to our solar system...
HAHAHAHAHAH!
Jesus. Almost seems like that last rat was about to burst into tears knowing he was about to die.
Exactly! that is a smart, terrified rat. Other animals don't know what is going on, the rat does.
"seems like that last rat was about to burst into tears"........... yeah ! and so would you if you wus him ! eh?
@@diegopicadidot8948 They know they won't get killed because they are native species
At this point I feel the animals being caught have the same idea as those green aliens from Toy story who want to get grabbed by the claw
ooooh the CLAWWW
The aliens delighted about it, they're leaving behind the claw machine and entering someone's home as a brand new toy. The animals getting caught are terrified, not only are they stuck in a contraption they can't neither comprehend nor overpower, but it's only gonna get worse from there. Shawn lets native species go, most people don't.
Sounds like a job....
Great drawing from a viewer at the end there... funny!
Dusky Footed Wood Rat: "Hi, folks. Happy to be here. I hope to never see you again though for locking me up."
Norway Rat: "NONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!"
3:25 Shawn you say that like you're sad you can't kill 'em. 😂
Nice I like your raccoon cooking a rat 🐀 artwork at the end 👌 😀
1:23 the squirrel be saying to the trap “i like ya cut g REEEEEEEEE”
Lol oh my god that "give it a little flip" shirt is so amazing.
When the squirrel brother came to help but could do anything 😂
That squirrel wasn’t even tripping till the hawk swung by😄
It’s insane how smart those rats can be.
put a little grease on the hook at top and it will make it a lot more sensitive and trigger easier
"You have to believe me, I was abducted by aliens last night!"
"Dag-nabbit Jimmy, quit tellin' tall tales and help me bring these sticks up to the nest. Ain't no such thing as aliens."
This was like an entire month of captures. Well done!
The California Ground Squirrel reacted with calm and dignity to the trap closing, going back to eat.
And then the hawk swoops in...
That last rat definitely gives the impression that the rats put up mini posters near rat holes of Shawn dressed as the grim repear with text reading "BEWARE OF THE HUMANE DISPATCHER'S TRAPS" because of so many of them "disappearing"
5:42 bruh he even knew it was a trap. He looked like the flash when trying to speed out of there
Squirrel 1: oh food
Squirrel 2: munch munch
Squirrel 3: guys I have a bad feeling about dis
Squirrel 2: yeah, I’m out
Squirrel 3: same
Squirrel 1: you guys are missing out!
**gets caught**
Squirrel 1: uh oh, GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Hawk: mmm food....
Squirrel 1: I’m dead..
Hawk: **can’t get in** eh I tried
Squirrel 2: Hey dood you ok?
that brow rat's aggression explains why they are invasive and thriving among other native species
I bet they attack native species of rats and other animals
they also have very high intelligence even for rodents. and reproduce a lot. some also regularly help other unrelated rats if they're in peril.
Glad you didn't hurt chippie......they are popular where I live, they make great companions around the house! I used to have one named scar (had a scar under one eye) and he used to tease the hell out of my cat at the patio door. Whenever I had guests over he'd come up on the deck to say hello and look for hand outs.
Native rat or not, if it was caught inside my barn it'd be one dead rat.
3 weeks later: Catching mice, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, daughter, moles, voles and gohpers with the Tomahawk mouse trap.
If watching ChooChoo's Story has taught me anything about chipmunks, it's that a mix of sunflower seeds and ripe strawberries will bring them running.
Second squirrel at 1:32
Dude.....don't worry...I got your back.
Hold on...I'll post bail for you.
Last rat was squealing like "Wait I'm native, I've got papers!"
God damn it Shawn, I clicked on the video thinking you were going to go all Assassins Creed 3 on the chipmunks. :/
1:15 That brief moment that he was thankful he was in a cage.
I love your voice at 6:20 😂
1:04 It was at this moment the squirrel knew:
It f**ked up.
Shawn when species is native: 😊
Shawn when species is non-native:😡
You meant 💨💀
That other rat walked out of the cage. He must have already watched your channel. Lol
those baby raccoons sitting on the floor are so cute
I know that brown rat is an invasive pest but the way it squeezed up into the corner and cried made me feel bad about its disposal
Brown Rat : "Has my lawyer, heard from the Governor?"
ID-ing tip I was taught (for anyone who is curious):
Chipmunks have stripes going through their eyes; ch"i"pmunk =s str"i"pe through "eye."
Squirrels do not, regardless if a tree or ground squirrel.
Chipmunks are easy to recognize, they're crazy, manic little creatures. Seriously, they never stay still.
GREAT VIDEO! It was like watching four videos in one! And that last rat almost bit you!
6:15 ok but the rat looked cute in that position 😂
5:51 aww watching the rat cower in fear was so sad for some reason ;( the little squeaks
I have a Havahart squirrel trap. I have to stake it down, or the squirrels and other critters will try to push it over to get the seeds I use as bait.
Seems like the little chipmunk set off the trap easier than the big rat with opposable thumbs.
We've caught squirrels, raccoons and woodchucks in this type of trap-they all light to eat fruit from our trees and dig up the garden
6:19 that rat is like I'm gonna die when he sees the Co2
That was a great drawing! I'm starting to look forward to seeing them!
Imagine having a house with this much nature around it 😔. Us city boys are jealous
You'll be surprised how much animal life there is in the cities. Although many animals you commonly find in cities are considered pests. Also city trash pandas tend to be smarter than ones in rural areas, at least when it comes to solving puzzles.
I once lived in Chicago and now I live in a forest. Clean air, clean water, quiet, peaceful. . . . . not to mention cheaper and safer. Whatever the tradeoff is, living in the country is worth it.
Sucks to be you ... I don’t consider myself a farm boy by any means ... but you will never catch me living in a city. The country life is the only way to go. Only thing that sucks is the lack of cell phone reception and slow internet. But it’s worth it to walk out my any door of the house and take a leak if I want to.
I just have meth heads
@@NC-oy8hq well, you certainly are a sophistimacated gent what what?

That Norway rat has some reflexes. It was jumping for the exit even before the door had finished swinging downward.
…ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ trap Monday
That Norway rat seems to realize that he is not long for this world. If he could talk, he might be saying: "how dare you outsmart me and catch me in a trap?"
That chipmunk would appear to be a very cool pet.
this video has so much trap action going on, and the animal interactions! great stuff.
That squirrel should thank you for not letting it become that Hawk's dinner!
That poor squirrel looked like it was about to have a heart attack being stuck in the cave when the hawk dove down.
Used this design for groundhogs for awhile. I catch and release all kinds of animals. Mine does have a metal plate around the handle. Highly recommend a trap with that feature
Shawn, you need to make a collaboration video with the Mink Man and clear out your barn of those Norway rats.
That Norway rat hit the trap door as it came down. They are crazy fast. Hard to look at an animal you know you got to dispatch. Maybe the order should place one of the live releases at the end of the video? I donno. Love your work Mr Woods either way.
1:33: Cute squirrel fur.
He sounds so excited when he says he is gonna feed the rat to animals
Man this is a really successful video today
The brown rat saw the harbinger of death. And he knew.
Aww man i really want to see him catch a family of raccoons. Cant wait for the video
I use the Have A Heart equivalent trap to catch ground squirrels, but I found that if I place them to near a tree that birds will enter and trip the catch.
Yep, I have the same one and have had great success catching and relocating groundhogs.
I push green sticks through the sides to make a fence in front of the trigger and bait.. They have to work for it. Our squirrels are so fast. It slows the door jump and gives them something to gnaw on while trapped. It dramatically helped my catch rate.
Curly, " Trapped like rats!". Moe, ( after a slap ) "Aw .. Speak for yourself"
"Frank! Get me outta here, man! Frank! Hey, where the hell you going?!"
