- It's 2023 and we built yet another MST, this time a 2.5 S Kit in hopes it would improve upon our initial attempt at it last year with the 2.5 RS Project.

Really interesting stuff! I always wondered how to use the alignment rack to check castor, I'll try that myself! Keep up the great content!
I run FFRC as well. Same RMX Comp chassis and it's a performer. I found by adding shims under all toe blocks made for better exit speed. More comparable to a MD1.0.
I’ll have to give it a try! Drove my first md01 last week and have to say I’m finally tempted to go for a Yokomo 🥹
Also, any suggestions for toe block shim size?
@@ScaleScience Whatever the stock RMX 2.5 comes with is what I used. I think they are 2 or 3mm.
@@ScaleScience The temptation is hard I know. I primarily run MST RMX with different chassis to keep up with Rhinomax, Yoko and others. If I did run Yoko it would be the MD1 for sure.

Rewatching Project RTR and I can’t help but ask. When you guys tested the 2.5RS, do you think the straight cut transmission had anything to do with the way the car felt and drove? Just picked up a 2.0 “Classic” and had I known about the differences in the transmission, I would’ve bought the RMX 2.5 from Mercari instead. At $160, it was a steal! Could’ve been an RRX 2.0 but man, I should’ve paid more attention. Now I have to pay more to get the new 2.5 transmission and ball diff…
It can be a game changer for response but we mostly wanted it as parts are less scarce for the straight cut transmission now and it should hold up as well or better. The 2.0 kit can be modified to fit the new gears with some bearings arbors and gears in the 2.0 housing.

It looks like the steering arm from the horn to rack could be mounted on the bottom side of the horn to make it more inline and less kinked
I’ll likely end up swapping horns as the only one I had is for slide rack and I could better use a straight arm
