    Dudes glad to see this. Honestly entering the drift world was intimidating 3veryones leet and there no comprehensive guild to tuning. Tuning suspension, toe, caster and camber plus tire compound and weight distribution all have alot of little nuances that if a general starting point is established the point of entry is so much more accessible. I look forward 5o see how this progresses. Could become the one stop resource I refer everyone to

    Guy's thanks for starting this build,. I own the FXX 2.0s, RMX 2.0s and RTR 2.0 my first of many questions to come during your series: Should the diff be locked or not....the RTR came locked but the FXX & RMX came with bearings, so Locked or Not Locked?

    • @ScaleScience
      @ScaleScience  2 роки тому +3

      Either is acceptable and both have their reasonings. I find I prefer unlocked for slippery surfaces like we have at our track location and locked for high traction surfaces like carpet. If you’re struggling with exit speed on low grip (polished concrete) opening the dif and installing a lighter fluid will help the car stay in traction more. We will address more settings as the weeks unfold.

    • @Fadeez2Black
      @Fadeez2Black 2 роки тому +1

      @@ScaleScience Thanks, that is good to know. During this work-at home past year I got into this Drift thing because of how nice the cars can look, as mentioned I have completed the FXX & RMX 2.0s but never ran them other than on the kitchen floor (polished granite floor ) and not sure has to what should be happening. I purchased the MST RTR because they said its tested at shop and should work like your showing here so I would have a reference to how they should run. But I have no track near me (Super G is 3 1/2 to 4 hrs away) and I'm definitely not putting them on the sidewalk to figure out if they drift right. ( not messin up my cars) lol.
      So I'll be rebuilding mine with you folks. Should get a Great working car out of this even if I don't run them anytime soon.
      Cost Saving Tip: Fly Sky FS-GT3C channel 3 works great with MST gyro. Ch 3 D/R & Trim control sensitivity. D/R sets how high you want it and trim lets you adjust setting on the fly. And yes to activate gyro is a L/R or R/L turn of the wheel but there are 3 settings on the gyro that you might want to address.

    Just discovered this on the hunt for an unboxing video. Picked up my RTR last night and took it to the track straight away last night and my word I was useless 😂.
    I’m used to “normal” cars that go at speed straight forwards. I felt this was really slow but I guess that’s the drift and sliding effect. Will be watching all these and following to get some improvement to my rtr.

    • @muaythai193
      @muaythai193 Рік тому

      That „really slow“ is why rc drifting is the only rc hobby that interests me.
      It looks and feels soo much more scale speed and realistic than regular rc racing, simply wonderful to hit those long, slow and smooth drifts! 👍

    Hey Guys, Awesome video! What battery did you put into the RMX 2.0 RTR? and what battery would you recommend for drifting the stock tires, on asphalt to start? I'm realizing that the weight of the battery may create to much oversteer as I am a beginner.

      I actually ran a Common Sense Lectron 5200mAh “stick” style LiPo on an RTR at my local track and it worked great. No real “oversteer” from the weight of the longer battery. Interestingly, that’s the same battery said local track uses on their rental RTR. Maybe that’s experience talking. Maybe it’s that the extra weight added traction to the rear wheels. Who knows? But in truth, I doubt using a larger stick LiPo will matter much versus a “shorty” LiPo. I will say that because this chassis accepts all kinds of packs, if you run a NiMH pack, you may notice oversteer more than using “long” LiPo so keep that in mind.
      Currently have one on order to build up. Really keen to get stuck into it and see how much more different it is to my TT-02 convert.

    Mine came with the ugly matte black direction 5 spokes. I ended up getting the gold BBS LM wheels for it.
    Which tires do you guys recommend for garage concrete? I got the Yokomo DRA tires, and feel that they grip better than the included MST tires.

    • @ScaleScience
      @ScaleScience  2 роки тому +1

      We like DRC, reve D as014’s, DS LF-5T, speedline, mst even has different compounds. We prefer setups with tires having less grip, suspension with more grip. Cars handle more uniformly with that approach rather then just sticking more grippy tires on and masking poor tuning or setup.

    • @lazandrosapinoso3947
      @lazandrosapinoso3947 2 роки тому

      @@ScaleScience Interesting. I went with the DRA since I read it was good for concrete as well. Originally I was looking at the DRC, but read to not use those on concrete.
      I will try moving the lower rear shock point to where you guys did and see how I like it. I relocated the motor to the top mount, and found that I liked the way that handled. I may move the ESC to the rear diffuser/weight tray. Right now I'm having a harder time maintaining a longer/faster drift.
