Found your channel through Amain. Been into scale trail trucks for years and have been really wanting to try a scale drift car. Looks like the RMX 2.0 will be my first. Thanks!
Awesome to hear and welcome Michael. I would say for you having building experience with the scale truck you May want to venture into building a kit and hand selecting electronics and using your trail truck radio (possibly) as you can do better then this little RTR in doing so.
good point on that training value in context with a car that isnt able to rescue every smaller mistake. i liked that. nice series so far. subbed o course. keep it up. -Daniel.
Thank you so much. Just when when i thought i am starting to feel the limitation of my stock 2.0, you gave me new conference that the vehicle still has more potential to go while keeping it stuck
I love this series. I am considering getting into RC drifting. I have been sim drifting in forza for over 10 years. Absolutely love drifting. Can decide between going all out for a D5 or this MST RTR to cut my teeth. Can’t wait for next week’s installment. Keep up the great content- cheers
Love the drifting and the tips! I actually bought an MST RMX 2.0 about a week ago. I can do circles pretty well, but certainly not 100 without hitting haha.
New to RC drifting and your tutorial is awesome. I have the same MST and will work on making the same changes to mine. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks
Glad I kept on doing my digging on these to find out they need to be heavy modified to drift well. For over 500$ to get into one to try it I am glad they where out of stock on the recommended batteries that day or I would be pissed lol
I mean, for overall cost and what you get, don’t think it’s fair to be mad. Well worth the cost and it’s a great hobby to become a part of. Better then leaving $200 in ammo spent and unuseable, or thousands of dollars for real tires for a real drift car I’ll never use again.. pay to play, but all in all the cheapest way to get your slide on.
can we get a link to those screws you used on the plates, and where you got the plates too. Just got this same rtr and have the gt86 which is about to get a mytrickrc drift light kit.
Looking very smooth for an RTR, what is your floor surface and surface preparation? I have an rtr with a few minor modifications, I'm trying to get the correct tire for it.
Body roll yes, grip.. sometimes yes sometimes no in my experience. We are looking to test the outcome of exactly this in a future episode of this series. Stay tuned for that too! If you get bored in the meantime, try it for yourself but ensure you don’t overtighten the 3 bolts that travel though the transmission case. That’s a common issue I see that usually causes a transmission failure and I’m my opinion is the reason why the RMX transmission caught such a bad rep.
@@ScaleScience do you think the ball diff for the rmx is worth the maintenance and the adjustability it can give similar to the diff on the d5? Rather than the spool it comes with.
While I agree 100% that the Futaba stuff is awesome and a large improvement over stock, a proper radio and 550 gyro will cost more then most would pay for their entire RTR and is likely not a modification the average Joe would perform this early on. We are planning to showcase utilizing a higher end gyro/servo/radio in some future episodes though. Just taking a guess too that a radio upgrade would allow us better control over the stock MST gyro but at this point still trying to push the stock stuff to its limit.
@@lulhoofd2 that’s a lot of possible stickers dude you’re gonna have to be more specific on helping me find them. Hit me up on FB so we can share photos cool? Thanks
Just off the top you get a lot more car upfront for your money in an rtr MST vs. the ARTR Yd2. The YD is over $100 more with brushed (mst has brushless) electronics. Mst also comes with the finished (painted and mostly detailed) body, wheels and tires and the same entry level remote but does come with a junk stick battery you’d replace in the long run too. Driving wise a stock e platform would never drive this well. Now if yok made their RTR from an S or a Z kit, that might be a worthy competitor in our eyes. Believed me we talked at length about just this matchup but there’s a good reason why you see 25-30 or more rtr mst’s sold for every 1 Yd2 rtr.
Man that guy can drive!
He’s a wizard!
Loving the MST series, and I don’t even have one.
Thanks for the support as always Geoff!! You’re a good man!
Dude im lovin it and i dont love rmxs 😂🤣😂 but within the past two weeks ive become VERY chummy with them 😂🤣🤣
Since last tuesday... Ive been drivin diffenrent rmxs all week... More than my own chassis 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️this one included 🤣
Does mst make 1/10’s with shaft drive?

Thanks Daniel! Hope you enjoy the rest of the series and stay tuned for more! Cheers
Being new to the drift scene you guys are helping me out with my rmx 2.0
Thanks for stopping by and letting us know Daron! Tell your friends 😎
Hell yeah awsome way to start a Monday off!!!!
Agreed!

I’d go for a YD-2 ZX, pre assembled and setup. 👍

Keep practicing! You’ll get there

Awesome video definitely have to visit when I travel to Colorado again
Sure hope you do! Cheers and thanks for watching!
Thank you so much. This will make me love my stuck 2.0 even more
Keep us posted on your progress!
👍💯 Great video guys! I’m still learning to drift and understand the mechanics✌️
Thank you
I just picked up an Rmx 2.0 S15 as well. Definitely following this build . Can't wait till next week!
This series is making me buy one, I love it bro!
Hope you guys do alittle more in-depth on set up, gyro tuning and such!! So excited
We can a bit but most of that stuff is in the instructions with your car.
I’m new to this and I thank you for this video! Can you add some links on where you get some of the tools or upgrades?
Josh if you’re on FB or IG drop us a message or line on those for easier exchange of links and info! Cheers and thanks for watching

Can you do a video explaining what the buttons on the remote do, I messed with them one day and now my car isn’t right 😅
Which radio or model rtr do you have the 2.0 or 2.5?
I glued the mirrors and spoiler on my rmx
Where did you get the iridescent window strip please 🙂
We have them at our shop
can we get a link to those screws you used on the plates, and where you got the plates too. Just got this same rtr and have the gt86 which is about to get a mytrickrc drift light kit.
We sell hardware but used a few from our personal set. M1 self tapping screws.
Made the license plate with some styrene and a sticker!
@@ScaleScience Looks great. The gt86 kit has perfect places for some bold on wheel wells, just need the screws.
@@therealpb674 if you’re local stop on by, if not, we can sell ya some just send a message on Facebook/Instagram , or you can hit up ebay.
Looking very smooth for an RTR, what is your floor surface and surface preparation? I have an rtr with a few minor modifications, I'm trying to get the correct tire for it.
Polished concrete to 1500grit, burnished with 3000 grit, it has a densifier and dye we treated the surface with between the 400 and 800 grits.
And we use no surface prep we just sweep the floor. No wax, no additives nothing besides keep it clean.
I know this video is about the MST and the changes you're making to it. But I really want to know more about that Honda Odyssey.
Coming soon!
Very nice
Thanks Mr. Snail!
How you got those ds wheels with the calipers of the rmx, Mines are rubbing
Take the caliper off
But you have yours on 😔 how you manage to do it
@@christopherlisi the wheels in the video aren’t DS, they are MST wheels.
So glad i upgraded from an hpi e10 to this little thing lol
Would the top motor configuration be better for body roll and grip while in drift? Or no. ( still a noob )

What size pinion do you use with the stock spur
Stock was 22, we are 24

Is that tamiya s15 bodyshell?
Yes, that’s correct.
We need episode 3!!!!!
It’s out now!
I learned knowing how to drift a real car transfers over somewhat lol
Holy guacamole whats that bodykit called
Not sure. It’s on the stock tamiya s15 body.
Slap a futaba gyd 450 or 550 gyro in it and pair it with a futaba radio. Stock gyro is ok, but futaba is awsome in comparison🥰
