Thank you! How many videos later and you're the first person to actually show two pieces being riveted together - the actual important part! For a beginner it's invaluable.
I didn't know that rivets would be that easy. You make everything look easy, that's the sign of a good teacher. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
When I was in the throws of converting my cargo van to a camper, you were an absolute treasure! I didn't take the time to thank you then...but I just bought a trailer and heard that rivet guns were the way to attach things to the wall. Wanted to see how they worked, and visited your channel. As usual you are a wealth of helpful information. You cover so much, straight to the point. So incredibly helpful, and I am most grateful :)
I've been looking at several videos about rivets and your video is BY FAR the best for showing everything you need to know without 10 minutes of unnecessary chatter.
what a clean video! when i was a kid i found a pop rivet and it fit my lego mini figures hand so i thought it was a custom fencing sword someone lost, and today i learned what it was by coincidence. and then this video explained it perfectly, thank you
Fantastic video! I've been avoiding rivets for so long because I thought they were challenging, but now I'm at an impasse where I need to use rivets. This video is perfect!
Leah to the rescue again. I use pop rivets VERY rarely and was having trouble remembering how to make sure the smooth part of the rivet ends up on the finished side of my work. There are a lot of wordy videos out there, but See Jane Drill's is the only one that quickly showed me exactly what I needed to know. Such a great channel. Thanks, and I hope 1-Million happens this year 🙏🏽
Leah, I love that you show in detail the little things like how to load the gun, how to tension the rivet so it doesn't fall out of the gun, etc. Your video assumes no prior knowledge. Sometimes people demonstrating tools try to show off how good they are, and forget that they might be chatting with an inexperienced audience who can't follow at the speed an experienced person works. Sweet demonstration. Many thank you sss.
I love that you showed it close up and how easy it was to use it. And every little thing that I would have a question about you have answered. I'm 72 and bought a rivet gun 5-7 years ago. Never have used it. It's still in the package now that I know how I might go get it and try it. Thanks again, Leah
Great super detailed video presentation Ms Leah. I'm 47 y/o mechanic/handyman. I have fixed and worked on many things but have never riveted anything until today. Your video help me 100%.
First time I ever used a pop rivet tool. You explain how you use it clearly in your easy to follow instructional video. My project putting a metal chicken coop together went smoothly.Too thumbs up to you! Thanks
Independent of the knowledge that you generously disseminate in this tutorial, you are one of the few who posess a natural gift for teaching, a skill that's often taken for granted by the majority of us..... at least until we attempt to do the same! That was the first video of yours that I have seen; by no means will it be the last. Thank you!
Thanks very much. I can see now how it works! About 15 years ago I successfully used one on a garden rail, and today I found a pop rivet in the street. I tried to explain to my colleague what it was and how it worked. Next time I see him I'll be able to explain it properly!
This tutorial is PERFECT. I wanted to see the underside to know what to expect and I didn't have a clue about the sizes. You covered off everything. Thank you! Subscribing for sure!
I love your instructional videos. I have gotten into learning all things metal (metal fab, sculpture, making things, welding, etc.) but was not raised around using tools, being in the shop, etc. Your videos really help! You are a great teacher! Thank you!
I’m working on clipboards and I saw someone had a rivet tool so I went and bought one and there was no instructions on how to use it. I found yours first thing and I feel confident that I can go give this a try. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Thanks, I have a newer rivet gun and getting ready to use for first time. No tool is required on the Arrow I bought as the 4 heads screw on/off. Comes with 360 degree swivel head, 4 packages of different sized rivets (100 rivets), and 4 drill bits. It does not come with instructions but has a nice molded case for storage for everything. This 7 year old video still very useful.
Once again, excellent narration. Leah, your videos have saved my bacon (and my wallet) so many times - That you're a true youtube hero and should wear a cape at all times.
Leah you are my go to for tool videos. I am inspired by watching them. I went out and bought riveter last week and i'm going to use it to make a fairy stump house roof! And you will see Jane rivet because you told me that i can do it!!! Thanks for awesome comprehensive instructions! Jane from Pittsburgh, PA
Just found your page and it is amazing. I make jewelry and was looking for how to use a grinder machine, well I found it but I kept looking at your videos. Thank you for keeping it simple.
This is *excellent*. Really for beginners, and Leah has gone through all the essential steps 1. Setup 2. Execute 3. Inspect 4. Clean up This is how a job should be done Thank you for sharing this really simple and effective video.
I just discovered your channel, I wish I had found it earlier because it is AMAZING thank you so much for what you are doing. As a young woman who loves to tinker a lot you are giving me knowledge AND confidence. Thank you thank you thank you !!!
Thanks Leah, I love your videos. I see a rivet came loose in my horse trailer, I’m fixing it as soon as i buy the supplies! I just used your tutorial to fix my toilet a few weeks back. Subscribed to your channel and i want you to know how much you’ve helped me do some things I didn’t know I could do myself! You are the bomb! Thank YOU for everything!
And in case you didn't know U can also get what is called a closed end rivet that when installed is water proof inside the rivet, if U want it to be water proof around the rivet U place a rubber ring around the rivet before installation. I really like your videos, I am very glad you came back.✝️⚾🙃
This was the only video I could find that actually was worth watching, great work. I wanted to learn exactly how rivets work and how they are used, and you covered it all very well.
Thanks for this! I'm trying to repair a recliner chair and this is exactly what I needed to know. Super clear video and makes me feel like I can do it!
Leah, just what I was looking for - Ha - Rosie the Riveter has nothing on me now! I knew there was someone like you out here talking about rivets. Thanks - replacing the hood over my AC unit on top of My Toyota Dolphin RV. Thank you so much for doing this tutorial.
I have one of these in my basement. I knew it was a pop riveter, but had no idea how it works, or which end to put in where. Thanks again for another great explanation video.
Jane was a godsend for an electrical project, back now cause I think this tool will be perfect for attaching nylon webbing for the undercarriage support of a chair I want to make.
I'm seeing this years late but it was extremely helpful!!! You're good at teaching, I struggle listening to certain people but you made it understandable and to the point! Thanks u
You are amazing! So very helpful. Airstream Life put out a vid demonstrating this but didn’t take the time to explain the terminology or show close up of the tool or rivets where a “beginner” can find it useful at all. Thanks so much.
Thank you ...I bought this tool years ago ...clearly for some project idea that I can't recall but never used it. I keep stumbling over it in my toolbox and decided I need to figure out how to use it....so thank you ...I'm sure I have some rivets somewhere.😁
You rock! I've seen so many of your tutorials. I'm fixing the door on my microwave, it drops down when it opens. I wanted to know what it looks like when actually using the rivet gun. Now I know and I know how to use it. KUDOS to you... again. :)
Leah, thank you so much for this demonstration. I've never know how a riveter works and I can already think of a dozens reasons I need one. Going to Amazon right now to order one. I'm subscribing and looking forward to learning so much more from you.
Okay Leah, first Thank You for a simple yet informed how-to demonstration for those of us who did not grow up in the trades. Wondering if you might do a video explaining the different rivet strengths, materials, and applications for proper use? As an example right now I am looking to rivet small household pieces for a window that does not require a lot of strength. But in the near future I may want or need to do riveting of larger heavier metals and plastic or fiberglass pieces for a racecar. Might also be a time to show different fasteners for different uses? Glad I found you!
This is very helpful, a lot of kayak accessories are mounted using this exact rivet gun, and if you had no idea how to do it, you'd be lost. Wonderfully informative video for beginners.
Yay Leah. I’ve had this tool in my box for many years (10+). Never needed it so never gave any thought to how to use it. Then this week I needed it. Thanks Leah. Looks like a piece of cake. 😅
Hi Leah! I really like the new intro! Sometimes I build guitar amp cases and they need like a 100+ rivets. It's kinda painful to use on of this riveters after a while, and I don't have the money to buy an air compressor and an air riveter, but I found what is called a folding riveter and it's great. Thank you, and greetings from Mexico city :)
I’m glad I came across this video. I need to swap out a car part that, to my dismay, is riveted instead of bolted. I’ve never worked with rivets before but now I feel like I can do it, thank you!
You can also buy rivets that have threads on the inside, this allows you to add a threaded hole into thin sheet material. I have seen 6-32 up to 1/4-20 but there may be additional sizes as well.
Thank you for this video. I somehow have accumulated 3 rivet guns and many rivets, but no instructions, so i was never able to get them to work. Can't wait to get home and try again!
All these years, I did not really know there were such things. I have seen the rivets on a variety of objects, but I always thought it was done at a factory. Now I can fasten things myself. Oh the possibilities abound.

THANK U LEAH!!! MMMUUAAHHH!!!!
So in the second case did the rivet actually go through the metal tube or was it predrilled?
Gracias
I LOVE YOU !! ❤️ you make things so simple.. ty ty ty

I've heard about rivets for years, this is the first time I've actually seen it clearly illustrated. Thank you!
Thanks very much. I can see now how it works!

This was an excellent video. Very easy to follow. And thank you for not adding any useless commentary. I'm going out to get my rivet gun now.
After watching your video I went to Walmart and bought a hand held rivet tool for about $7. I used it on my rain gutter downspouts. Love your videos.
Just purchased one for a home project.i do like the passion you show in your videos.shows how much trust you place into each tool.👍
This is so awesome! I've never used rivets before and now I see how easy they are to use. Thanks for making this, Leah. Another great video!

Well done. You have a great manner and a very kind voice.
you're a natural when it comes to teaching others how to use tools, you're awesome.
Thanks for this from the UK Leah. This is a tool that was totally alien to me and now I know exactly what I need to buy and how it works. Brilliant!
You should totally have your own HGTV show!
thanks, Daniel!
Love love love how you explain simply yet detailed…and show. And am glad you did not pinch your fingers on that last push. 😊
Just found your page and it is amazing. I make jewelry and was looking for how to use a grinder machine, well I found it but I kept looking at your videos. Thank you for keeping it simple.
It’s my first time trying the rivet and your video was very helpful. 5 stars to you!

4. Clean up
This is how a job should be done

You had me at "for Beginners." Have one, haven't used it for about 40 years, just wanted to make sure it was as easy as I remembered it. Thanks.
Thank you so much Leah. I'm a woman about to become a welder. I need to learn this also in order to attach a leather piece to the bottom of my hood.
I have one of these in my basement. I knew it was a pop riveter, but had no idea how it works, or which end to put in where. Thanks again for another great explanation video.
Clear and precise tutorial. Thank you. Had a rivet gun for years stuck in a drawer and now I know how to use it !

Which one did you order? I just got the Marson, good tool.
You did it again. I now have a hand riveter and I'm riveting hangers on my cooking utensils to hang them on the wall for easy access 😊
Leah, another helpful video. Short and to the point for us hurried DIY'ers. Keep em comin
THANKS JANE FOR YOUR HELP, YOU ARE very level to someone who doesnt know about rivets.
That really WAS cool. Thanks for taking the time to explain so clearly and concisely … just ‘riveted’ the door of my new shed, all by myself .

Absolutely one of the best channels on UA-cam. Very helpful. Thank you!! “I just love America so much!” - Sue Heck
You have such a talent for explaining away the complexity of stuff. Bless!
I love all your videos, they’ve been very helpful since I’ve gotten divorced and on my own now for those home projects.

Love it, Leah! I'm making a wooden backpack and just discovered rivets. I'll be using them to join the faux leather to the top of the backpack! :)
Hey, that sounds like a cool project!
A wooden backpack?? Who knew?
By far one of the best tutorials on youtube. Thank you! This cut my project down by at least 2 hrs
Thank you Leah for the demonstration on how easy this tool can be.
Jane, I love your videos! When I need to do something I haven't before, you are my "go to"! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video. I somehow have accumulated 3 rivet guns and many rivets, but no instructions, so i was never able to get them to work. Can't wait to get home and try again!
Short, sweet, and to the point. Excellent information! Just bought one to tinker with. Thank you!
I love this lady. I’ve learned to caulk a tub and now rivet!!!! Thanks, Leah!
All these years, I did not really know there were such things. I have seen the rivets on a variety of objects, but I always thought it was done at a factory. Now I can fasten things myself. Oh the possibilities abound.
Nice video. I appreciate the front and back views of how the rivets are placed.
thanks, Vinny!
THANK YOU for providing such CLEAR, EASY instructions. I so GREATLY appreciate it. 😊❤
Your videos are the best. Great information explained in a way for all to understand. Keep up the good work.
I had no idea that the long post was discarded! Had always wondered how that tool managed to scrunch up a big long rivet like that, haha. Thank you for your video, you are an excellent teacher!
Thank you! Your instructions are so clear and answered all my questions. Yes, I can do this.
My favorite construction channel on youtube!
🙂
That Rivet Gun is one of the nice ones. the Head will turn so that you can install rivets Straight on. always buy the one that the head Turns. The others won't last very long. Thank You Leah, Nice Video.
First time riveting and I didn’t realize you might have to pump it a couple times. Thank you!
Thank you so much I’ve putting off putting a latch lock on my door for my cats to come and go. While I’m at work. And you have just given me to boots I need. 👍🏽😜😊
So simple and easy, thank you. I used my rivet gun to make a latch for my center console lid that won’t close and now it closes. Thanks again!
Thanks so much for posting this video. Very explicit even for someone like me who doesn't have English as a mother tong. I am certainly going to try this technique on a next assignment. Greetings from Portugal.
Hey, glad you found us, all the way from Portugal! Welcome!
Thank you.
Just got my first rivet gun on a sort of whim. I look forward to using rivets instead of loctite and bolts for permanent fastening.
Thank you so much for making these great videos. I’m remodeling a vintage travel trailer as a solo woman & you just made my day. Now I can go rivet:-)
Nice!
Wow, great video for someone like me! Riveting is now in my tool box for do-it-myself repairs!
Hey, glad you found it helpful!
Great explanation. I'm a teacher and I can appreciate another great teacher.
Love your stuff Leah - your explanations are first-class!
Thanks for this video. Is there any weakness to using a rivet compared to using a screw or a nail?
Keep up the good videos!
