This is a slightly diferent offering from BMW, it is a very focused semi off road style bike in not only looks but reality....It is a big bike with a very focuesed aim.......
Can't wait to start seeing these stateside. Don't think I'll be trading my F850 for one, but it's cool to see they finally addressed where the adv market is headed. It really has everything the last gen should've had.
Excellent review, i test rode one and liked it so much i bought one. I agree with all of your observations even down to tyre choice, the one i rode had road tyres which make it a v competent road bike. I think the MCN review missed the mark, as you point out its fundamentally an enduro bike. Good Job.
Don't be afraid to test it out even if you are vertically challenged. I'm 5'5 (165 cm) and it's no real struggle due to the narrow seat. I ordered my f900gs with the low seat, which will be enough for me, but you can also order it with a lowering kit
Great video Lofty. Spot on. Need your thoughts... thinking of making the change from my F700gs. I'm doing 50/50 riding in Canada. Just looking for your opinion. How top heavy does it feel. I'm 5'10 with a 31 inch inseam so I know the low seat would be required just trying to get some insight if this is to much bike for me. Got two years under my belt in terms of experience. If its like any other BMW I can get use to it in Rain mode and sort my comfort out with it
For a 50/50 bike this is the dogs....it's a wonderfull alrounder if the 14ltr tank suits ....Just enough power and not too heavy...go get one....try the Yam 700 Tenere and the Crf1100l too.........
Got the basics down little intimidated with its size. In saying that the 700gs has the twin up higher so I'm hoping it will be much the same for weight and balance. The suspension is the key element.@@theloftybiker3090
Did I hear right in the video, that you say there is not heated grips????, if so this isn't the case heated grips are standard on both the new 800gs,gsa and the 900gs,gsa
Hiya...2 very differing bikes produced for totally different customers.....The F900gs is a very tall semi off roader, distinctive endruo style....Where as the R nine t and R12 nine t are classic retro style bikes with quite low seats. My question to you would be how tall are you and what type of riding do you do????
@vanaccolor the F900gs enduro is a fantastic dual purpose bike, possibly the best BMW have made....very tall and focused with proper 50/50 tyres I love it, very much....go ride one you will not be disappointed

Looks like a good bike. But a 14.5L tank isn't good enough.
There is an F900gsa which is a 100% road touring style bike, this bike is not......thanks for watching

The bikes nice, the price not so much, in other words typical BMW pricing.
Where I think this one is expensive is that it has little tech. The finish and build quality is beautiful though...thanks for watching
I think the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is a much better bike.
