@@CannataNFL The quest 2 official straps snapped within weeks of release, there are much better straps like bobovr with magnetic batteries. So yeah the unofficial were much better than the official.
@@CannataNFLexactly, third parties making an elite strap with a battery aren't going to do the same kind of research and development as Meta. This is a lithium ion battery sitting directly on your head, don't you want the best quality as you can get?
@@yoanperez1721st version elite yes, but this new version Elite is better built so I doubt it’ll have the same problem with snapping. Also output of bobo b2 batteries are 2.6amps which was ok for Quest 2 but Quest 3 is more power hungry which means the bobo batteries will not charge as well as the Quest 2. Even when B2 is on, Quest 3 headset battery will continue to drain and may even go flat before your 2nd B2 battery is charged which means it’s no longer infinite power. Bobo should have included a more powerful 3amp output battery pack with the new m3 strap for Quest 3. Many people will buy the retrofit kit but their b2 batteries will be old and will not hold good charge for the Quest 3 forcing them to buy another 2 x b2 batteries to keep up with Q3 so it won’t as cost effective as it was with Quest 2.
QUESTION: Can you use the PCVR cable directly from the port on the Elite strap + Battery? Or you must remove the cable from the Quest 3 and then plug the PCVR cable to that port? Also do you know what the voltage and amperage of the 18W charging block and the 45w charging block? Are they PPS, PD, or QC standards?
Question. I travel a lot and I'd love to take quest with me. Without docking station of course. How would I charge controllers with these special batteries when on travel?

After watching this video I know I made the right decision to buy the elite strap with battery backup. I should have my Quest 3 tomorrow from Amazon, but still have to wait for my prescription lenses. I know I can try the Quest 3 with my glasses, but I am thinking I will wait till I can put the prescription lenses in. Just my preference. Thanks Thomas for another helpful video.
I literally went through five elite quest 2 straps from Best Buy and they just kept breaking on me even after one week of use in some cases. Let me say for one thing, the head strap that comes with the Quest 3 has to go. I am glad I bought the elite strap with battery and not just the elite strap alone because I hardly did anything, and my battery was done. So, I am putting on the elite strap with battery today and hope it lasts a long time. It's for checking the status of the battery in the head strap, it will be solid or blink various colors depending on the amount of charge. With the official Elite Strap with Battery there is no need to turn it on or off. The Quest 3 and battery head strap are smart and know when they are connected to each other, the head strap battery is depleted first before the built in battery.
That the strap with battery also charges is not a feature of the dock, its how batteries work, link multiply to each other and they all charge at the same time, like glasses filling up at the same time, keeping same energy/water level, so if you charge such a setup to 50% it would mean each battery in the link is at 50%. But I get more out of my external battery so I'm fine keeping that in my pocket cheaper and more play time.
@@frankcosette3046 Can you charge while playing? (Or is there just one port? So you'd just be running from another battery bank instead of charging the Q3/headstrap battery?)
Did you not see the big rechargeable batteries that come with the charger? He even mentioned it and put them in the controllers. Did you watch the video?
Metas accessories are too expensive. There's a slew of equally good third-party products available now or coming shortly for a fraction of the cost. I personally don't like the width on the charging dock. Other companies have more vertical designs I like much better. My opinion.
Nope nope nope lol. Too expensive, not worth it. I got Aubika's strap w/ battery and it's great. Passthrough charging too so ya. $80 CAD. This set up here is $360 plus tax. Kinda dumb.
@@rmuns1262 It was $90, and there was a $10 coupon offer. Ya I notice it went up to $100. I can say I'm happy with it. It's incredibly small but the build quality is great.
I wish the Quest 3 would of took cosmetic advice from the Pico 4. The strap on the Pico 4 is adjustable, its no additional charge! Quest 3 requires you to pay extra for it. The Pico 4 looks like the VR from Ready Player 1, the Quest 3's face looks like an ad for Don't worry be Happy.
Not only that but it fails to charge the elite strap battery for me, it's very finicky with the headset too but the elite battery doesn't charge at all with this. Expensive waste.
Nope can't confirm that! It never falls out, you have to push the headset strap down, also the strap is charged! Wait a little bit and restart the Quest 3, you will see the battery is charged

How big do you have? I have a 30,000 mah but it's a bit big and heavy to keep in my pocket lol.
When you use both, the strap battery gets used before it starts using the Q3 battery
@@frankcosette3046 Can you charge while playing? (Or is there just one port? So you'd just be running from another battery bank instead of charging the Q3/headstrap battery?)
I’ll wait for third party but looks nice tho
People who don’t think a charging dock is worth. Aud=219$. USD=140$
I don't get it. How do you charge the controllers if they run on a AA battery ?
They don't...
The charging dock comes with rechargeable batteries you put in the controllers.
Did you not see the big rechargeable batteries that come with the charger? He even mentioned it and put them in the controllers. Did you watch the video?
Doesn't even work, hopefully we will get some answers soon since they took our money and the product doesn't even work
Metas accessories are too expensive. There's a slew of equally good third-party products available now or coming shortly for a fraction of the cost. I personally don't like the width on the charging dock. Other companies have more vertical designs I like much better. My opinion.
Only 700 euros for the Meta quest 3.
Oh you want to be comfortable too? And play for longer then 2 hours?
That's 900 euros then 🤷♂️ Meta .... 🤦🤦🤦🤣
😂😂
Issue with the docking station is dust build up - it will a pain to clean
Really? Looks pretty easy to clean to me. Just a wipe with a microfiber cloth would do the job
Nope nope nope lol. Too expensive, not worth it. I got Aubika's strap w/ battery and it's great. Passthrough charging too so ya. $80 CAD. This set up here is $360 plus tax. Kinda dumb.
I see $99CAD for Aubika's new strap on Amazon? Where'd you find 80CAD?
@@rmuns1262 It was $90, and there was a $10 coupon offer. Ya I notice it went up to $100. I can say I'm happy with it. It's incredibly small but the build quality is great.
I wish the Quest 3 would of took cosmetic advice from the Pico 4. The strap on the Pico 4 is adjustable, its no additional charge! Quest 3 requires you to pay extra for it. The Pico 4 looks like the VR from Ready Player 1, the Quest 3's face looks like an ad for Don't worry be Happy.
The docking station doesn't work with meta quest 3 with battery strap as it falls out. How did you not cover this?
Not only that but it fails to charge the elite strap battery for me, it's very finicky with the headset too but the elite battery doesn't charge at all with this. Expensive waste.
Nope can't confirm that! It never falls out, you have to push the headset strap down, also the strap is charged! Wait a little bit and restart the Quest 3, you will see the battery is charged
Yea, and it didn't come with a separate battery brick either, just a cable@@michaelewert4053
With the stock strap or the battery strap? I have to use two tuna cans two raise the meta quest 3 so it probably charges@@voodoodevr-en
You are supposed to tilt the arms of the headset down so it is suopported on the desk
Poco 4 has same lenses same resolution almost half price and it is comfortable out of the box. For pc vr is a better bet
The strap is broken. Won’t be recognized more than a few seconds. Garbage and Meta is crickets
I find the standard head strap to be just fine... 👌
ugh, no.
looks like Pico 4 now
