@4:58, i modded my jsaux modcase to include, #0 Modcase Cover-part is been covered with 2 strips of glow-in-the-dark stickers, to increase its visibility in the dark, in case steamdeck gets placed on the ground and later stepped on #1 Glued on small rubber strip that secures a small Key Ring on the Cover Part AND a Keyring on a Loop secured through/around bottom part itself. This allows me to secure it on a larger keychord, around my neck and along the right shoulder, which if let go would hang besides me, and have (de-)attach the Front-Cover. Same glued-on rubber strip is also used to keep a small OTG Usb adapter & USB-C Male to Female adapter on 90° Angle, for emergancy redunancy Optionally, i have a small bench/couch, next to my desk, with the room having a low wooden ceiling of 2.5m-ish, and secured the Modulair Strap onto a small rope with elastisty Using the (still) attached larger Keychord with another elastic cord, making a triangle, allowing to 'hover' the steamdeck abit away from my face/head.
What was that scene from in your Viture roll, with the man in the church wearing the dog mask at 19:01 ? Trying can't seem to figure out what that's from. Great tips on all the accessories, thanks a lot!
BTW you forgot Nested Desktop. INCREDIBLY handy. Instead of jumping between desktop mode and gamescoe session, you just launch the nested desktop within the gamescope session. Saves tons of time.
News Flash. You do not need a screen protector. It’s just plain dumb to do so. You don’t keep the deck in your pocket with keys and if it drops it lands on the joysticks. Plus you have a case. A screen protector is useless, all these UA-camrs just make nonsense claims.
I just purchased an Oled Steam Deck a few days ago so it was a great video for me and I purchased about 70% of the links down below but I didn't see a 10% discount applied at checkout. Has it expired or what?
What black magic type battery are they using in those Bose headphones… that you use them a ton and recharge them presumably a lot as well… and the battery life is not degraded… I’m not kidding… when you get rid of those please open them up and check the brand and spec of those batteries.
Hahaha for real! I have used them as a daily driver for YEARS! It feels like they have some years left in them too.. haha but when the batteries finally start to go i'll rip them out and replace them.

Yeah i think they might be pretty similar I have not tried the Gamesir Nova but i have other gamesir controllers and like them. Actually just ordered the Gamesir 8 for my phone cant wait.
I hear you! It’s true that not every feature or accessory is a solution to a problem, but sometimes they’re just cool additions or enhancements. It’s all about finding what fits your needs and preferences. The steam deck all alone with not one extra thing is absolutely good enough!
@@nophacetech their high gloss screen protector is a must for the OLED if you don't game outside. Night and day better display quality once you get rid of that matte finish.
I was obessed with the idea of upgrading the m.2 i thought gaming would suffer on the SD card. I just got a decent gaming sd card 1 tb and its barely noticeable. an i have so many games installed. and I love it
Yeah, I felt like a lot of people made it seem like it’s terrible to game off the SD card, but I used the 64GB Steam Deck with a 1TB SD card for over a year, so all my games ran off it, and I didn’t have any issues. The only annoying part was that the 64GB would fill up with random stuff.
Question, for the 8bitdo controller for steam deck. Is there a way to use it without connecting it via Bluetooth? I saw that the 8bitdo ultimate comes with the receiver to plug in via regular usb cable. But I’m not sure if it will work with the steam deck dock
Hmm good point. I got a GuliKit KK3 Max, it has Bluetooth too but the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle option would need a USB-A port, and of course the Steam Deck has one USB-C. I suppose A to C adapters come in many flavors, and I bet there are 180° U-shaped adapters like shown in the video here, except they adapt with an USB-A female outlet. Personally, if I’m going to use accessories I will probably also want power, and if I’m using an external controller I might want a stand or external monitor to bring the game visuals to eye level… in that case, the Docks are the more expensive but more versatile solutions. I really liked that folding dock that the video showed here; it looks expensive, but buy once, cry once, and then portable and home needs are met. And I bet the 2.4 GHz controller dongle could just stay connected to the dock, so there’s one less thing to connect. Oh, and of course, just using the controller wired via USB cable is an option.
It works via the first dock he shows in this video. I have them both. But the black controller. The dongle goes into the dock. It is the only way I can get it to to work with any device. Conversely the snes like controller works with any device apart from Sony stuff.
@nophacetech Thank you for the nice video! I was going to buy the external VITURE BAttery with adapter, but your link does not work, and on their website I can still find the battery, but not the adapter for STEAMDECK…what was the reason why they discontinued that?
Interesting-the link works for me. Are you perhaps in a country they don’t sell to? They also have the attachment on their website; it’s called the ‘Mobile Dock Mount for Steam Deck.
@@nophacetechI live in Spain/Italy. Your link does not work for me, and I cannot see the “mobile dock mount for steam deck” in their website. They advertise the viture battery only for Switch.
I’m getting a lcd one soon. Do you think it’s worth it to download windows 11 on it? I know I should get a rog ally but I can find a lcp steam deck for like 250 which is in my budget right now. I just wanna be able to play cod, rainbow six siege, ect
Hey man, getting the LCD is a great idea-by far the best handheld for the price! Dual booting Windows and SteamOS is an awesome option. I’ve been running Windows off an external drive for a long time, but if you want portability with Windows, definitely go ahead and set it up to dual boot.
If you ONLY want CoD and such I say go for a Rog AllyX. I don’t want Windows anywhere near my SD but if you’re not into Linux just go with the Rog so everything runs natively.
I don’t know Rainbow 6’s system requirements, but CoD has scalable graphics options and a well-optimized engine. The Steam Deck, despite being portable, is about as powerful as a PS4 Pro. I don’t think the base-level SSD has enough storage space for CoD to install though, CoD needs 150 GB in addition to the system software (Windows 11 is about 27GB, and you always need some free space for the system to run). And yes, saving up for a ROG Ally would start you with Windows, and the Z1 Extreme chip in the Ally X and original Ally (skip the slower Z1, it’s worse than the cheap LCD Steam Deck) technically is more powerful than the Steam Deck. However, that processor chews through battery faster than the Steam Deck, the Ally (X) is unlikely to ever hit 120FPS on CoD or 🌈 6, and at 11 or lower TDP settings the Z1Extreme doesn’t perform as well as the Steam Deck. Windows causes an additional hit against performance and battery life compared to Steam OS. But for other FPS games and other shooters, SteamOS will run them better. The LCD screen is fine, not as good as the OLED but you always have an option to use an external monitor, like the one used here for a “laptop” screen or later on you can get OLED glasses like the Viture One (I also use a pair of these!). You can always upgrade the SSD too.
Wow appreciate the video quality and effort put into it, just recently got my steam deck oled 1tb with etched glass just curios what screen protector could work or leave as, just don’t like the idea of screen being scratched
Since you already have anti glare you don't need to double up on it I would do the first one that's just clear. Thanks for watching glad it was helpful enjoy the new steam deck 🤘🏼 1. Screen protector: amzn.to/3XaLhX2
Can virtue glass connect directly to the ps5 or i need to buy the dock ?? If i have to buy is normal steam deck dock like jasux help with that to work with ps5
For the PS5, you need to purchase the HDMI battery dock. Connect the PS5 to the HDMI input on the dock, and then connect the device to the battery dock as well. The Steam Deck docks are not HDMI-in to USB-C-out, so they won’t serve the same purpose.
When you run Windows from an external drive on the Steam Deck, the internal drive becomes inaccessible because it’s formatted with a Linux file system (ext4) for SteamOS. Windows can only read its own file systems, like NTFS, and doesn’t natively support Linux file systems. This means that while using Windows, you won’t be able to access or play games stored on the internal drive without using additional third-party software to read Linux formats, which can be tricky and isn’t ideal for gaming performance. Reformatting the internal drive would remove SteamOS entirely.
That’s a great point. Do you think there’s any merit in buying a card that like double its limit for longevity, quality, and the ability to handle fast read and write speeds simultaneously, to avoid bottlenecking with the SD card?
For the bag i really recommend the tomtoc t26 it comfortably fits my steam deck with the jsuax case and 25k mah ugreen powerbank with alot more room to spare,
I don’t know why so many people are mad in comments, but I see lots of useful things in the video ,and I see you really trying to make good content 😌 and I appreciate it ,that’s why I got here to say ,thank you ! 😂
save yourself the trouble of a "cable clips" which are really stupid, just buy a rubberband pack for a few bucks and you get a few hundreds and they even do a better or worse job depending on how you use them
I just got and hooked up the GR 10 on my 4k HD TV. It's automatically better than Valve's dock. Edit: BE CAREFUL HOW YOU HAVE THE MONITORS SET UP. You might lose visuals on your TV if you set it up wrong. DO NOT HAVE YOUR TV AS YOUR ONLY MONITOR.
Your laptop solution is really cool ! That's something i would be intrested in ! Too bad the keyboard is not available in europe ! Shipping from USA to my country is like 100$ ...
dang that sucks you cant get that keyboard that's what really makes it all work and its cheap here for how nice it is.. maybe look on ebay and other places.
I haven’t played WoW, so I’m not sure, but I’d expect it to run well on both devices. However, the Ally’s battery life is pretty poor, while the OLED screen on the Steam Deck is fantastic, with better battery life and the benefits of SteamOS. I’d lean toward the Steam Deck OLED, but I’d recommend checking out some videos to make sure the game performs well on it.
But I don’t want a Chromebook. I’m not sure I could get a Chromebook as powerful as this setup with a 2.5k monitor and a nice keyboard. Even if I could, I still don’t want another computer when my Steam Deck is already a full-fledged computer.
That’s really to highlight how affordable the Steam Deck is. Many Full HD OLED 120Hz monitors cost more than these glasses. That said, the glasses are a more expensive accessory and not essential - but they’re by far my favorite tech to pair with the Steam Deck.
Be careful switching out the ssd, didn’t get it seated good and the screws stripped trying to take the back off and nothing has worked minus getting a new back and using a dremmel to cut the old back off. The screws are crap.
Dang, that’s a bummer. I had other issues the first time (I have a whole trilogy of videos showing my misfortune bricking the Steam Deck). However, it ended with Valve just sending me a brand new one, so that was amazing customer service.

Optionally, i have a small bench/couch, next to my desk, with the room having a low wooden ceiling of 2.5m-ish, and secured the Modulair Strap onto a small rope with elastisty
Using the (still) attached larger Keychord with another elastic cord, making a triangle, allowing to 'hover' the steamdeck abit away from my face/head.
Really great video ❤
thank you!
These tips suck, the only thing i needed the the deck it self

What was that scene from in your Viture roll, with the man in the church wearing the dog mask at 19:01 ? Trying can't seem to figure out what that's from.
Great tips on all the accessories, thanks a lot!
It's lies of P 🤘🏼
Does that case interfere with setting the deck into a dock?
It fits in all the docks I have tested it with 🤙🏼
Did you post the link to the ssd change video ? I couldnt find it in the description and you have a ton of videos.
Great video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
NGL that BenQ dock looks awesome. Might get it for our living room and turn the deck into a Switch type thing. :D
yes! yeah its bit more expensive but it's better build quality and better specs so i think it's worth it for sure.
BTW you forgot Nested Desktop. INCREDIBLY handy. Instead of jumping between desktop mode and gamescoe session, you just launch the nested desktop within the gamescope session. Saves tons of time.
Oh, I actually haven’t set that up yet. I need to do that. They really should just make it part of the OS.
@@nophacetech well good news, it is part of the OS. :)
what size was the portable screen? there's multiple options in the amazon listing. just want to make sure i get the right one.
it's the 13.3" monitor
News Flash. You do not need a screen protector. It’s just plain dumb to do so. You don’t keep the deck in your pocket with keys and if it drops it lands on the joysticks. Plus you have a case. A screen protector is useless, all these UA-camrs just make nonsense claims.
interesting.
Ah yes, recommend 2 whole consoles as "accessories" to a handheld game console.
I just purchased an Oled Steam Deck a few days ago so it was a great video for me and I purchased about 70% of the links down below but I didn't see a 10% discount applied at checkout. Has it expired or what?
Cool video ty
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you! I need this since I just got mine 😊
Nice! lets go! congrats on the new steam deck enjoy!
Bro did not just advertise a $150 usb c cable 😂
sure did. and other very cheap cables :D
What soze is the monitor? You linked to monitors, but not a specific size.
Size: 13.3'' 2.5K - it should be the first one :D
@nophacetech thanks
can you download and play games from an external harddrive? Because if I get a Steamdeck, I know I won't be able to install a new SSD
Yes you can!
Очень интересно. Но для Steam Deck нужен только case и adapter)
“Это правда, но если кто-то заинтересован в большем, я хотел показать варианты… но сам по себе Steam Deck уже весёлый!”
the link to the 8BitDo Controller is wrong and just a repeat of the link to the Viture PRO XR glasses
you have to click the buy now and navigate to the controller idk why but you cant link to just the controller. and you can use CODE 10% OFF: JOSHUAGRAY
www.viture.com/store?discount=JoshuaGray%C3%82%C2%A0
What grip are you using on the deck an would you update anything as far as the sticks and put a skin on it
I use this case and i love it and wouldn't change it because it has the front protection cover as well: 8. JSAUX ModCase: amzn.to/4fNUlYS I would probably get a skin they look pretty cool but just haven't done it. as for the sticks a company actually sent me some halleffect sticks but i just have no problem with the stock joysticks so i haven't felt the need to rip apart my steam deck and install them.
Nice video. The viture controller looks like a more expensive Gamesir nova
Yeah i think they might be pretty similar I have not tried the Gamesir Nova but i have other gamesir controllers and like them. Actually just ordered the Gamesir 8 for my phone cant wait.
Enough with everything being a solution. Not everything is a problem
I hear you! It’s true that not every feature or accessory is a solution to a problem, but sometimes they’re just cool additions or enhancements. It’s all about finding what fits your needs and preferences. The steam deck all alone with not one extra thing is absolutely good enough!
I've been really surprised by how good all the JSAUX stuff ive gotten has has been. Doesnt seem like your typical jumbled letters brand.
same the case especially has never felt low quality to me and i have had it from day one of the steam deck.
@@nophacetech their high gloss screen protector is a must for the OLED if you don't game outside. Night and day better display quality once you get rid of that matte finish.
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
Big nintendos gonna hunt you down fr that 23:04

I was obessed with the idea of upgrading the m.2 i thought gaming would suffer on the SD card. I just got a decent gaming sd card 1 tb and its barely noticeable. an i have so many games installed. and I love it
Yeah, I felt like a lot of people made it seem like it’s terrible to game off the SD card, but I used the 64GB Steam Deck with a 1TB SD card for over a year, so all my games ran off it, and I didn’t have any issues. The only annoying part was that the 64GB would fill up with random stuff.
You should check out the Ugreen 9-in-1 dock
looks pretty sick.. i wish they would have done HDMI 2.1 for some high resolution high frame rate though.
How do you think about OLED? Is it necessary?
not necesarry but a lot better, depends on your budget
the OG Steam Deck is great.. i felt it worth it and within my budget so i got the OLED but its not necessary.
@@evshrug so is it best to look for other controllers then?
It works via the first dock he shows in this video. I have them both. But the black controller. The dongle goes into the dock. It is the only way I can get it to to work with any device. Conversely the snes like controller works with any device apart from Sony stuff.
love it, but it’s the definition of overconsumption
haha for real..
@@nophacetech gotcha. Is the steam deck powerful enough to run cod smoothly? I might use it a lot when bo6 comes out.
Thank you for the response btw 😁
I don't have the game but im sure some people show how well it plays on yt.
You can always upgrade the SSD too.
can we download games in window 11 or 10 on steam deck answer please🥺🥺🥺
Yes, when you install Windows, it runs just like on any PC because it’s essentially the same. You can download games just as you normally would.
Screen protector: amzn.to/3XaLhX2
hello you should do a video of the laptop creation, im sure many people will be interested......i am, looking forward for something like this......
yes i am planning on doing a dedicated video for this stay tuned!
@@nophacetech but i hear u can play ps5 with ps remote app throu mobile .. thats right ?
You can rename the video: "Affiliate links for Steam Deck's accessories".
indeed
using windows on a external ssd will recognize the game games i have on my internal ssd?
When you run Windows from an external drive on the Steam Deck, the internal drive becomes inaccessible because it’s formatted with a Linux file system (ext4) for SteamOS. Windows can only read its own file systems, like NTFS, and doesn’t natively support Linux file systems. This means that while using Windows, you won’t be able to access or play games stored on the internal drive without using additional third-party software to read Linux formats, which can be tricky and isn’t ideal for gaming performance. Reformatting the internal drive would remove SteamOS entirely.
Damn, the Viture battery bank isn't available in my country, nor does it sell by itself on amazon either (only in bundles with the glasses included).
dang thats a bummer sorry..
Steam deck read speed for SD cards max out at 100mb/s so get cheaper SD cards with more storage
That’s a great point. Do you think there’s any merit in buying a card that like double its limit for longevity, quality, and the ability to handle fast read and write speeds simultaneously, to avoid bottlenecking with the SD card?
For the bag i really recommend the tomtoc t26 it comfortably fits my steam deck with the jsuax case and 25k mah ugreen powerbank with alot more room to spare,
A cheaper and better built solution for the mobile laptop set up would be a nexdock
the nexdock is $300 and only 1080p... my setup is $180 and 2k monitor. the nexdock is okay but ill keep mine almost half the price too.
I don’t know why so many people are mad in comments, but I see lots of useful things in the video ,and I see you really trying to make good content 😌 and I appreciate it ,that’s why I got here to say ,thank you !
😂
save yourself the trouble of a "cable clips" which are really stupid, just buy a rubberband pack for a few bucks and you get a few hundreds and they even do a better or worse job depending on how you use them
But I like my cable clips… I don’t want to use rubber bands.
Are there specific steamdeck battery packs that I can buy that come with a charging cable
a lot come with a little USB C cable but no charger or long cable that I know of.
Is there anything this guy wont buy 😂
hahah
Give the Stylth Grip by Satisfye a try 👍🏻
1:50 anti glare green
Tbh i just need a somewhat reliable source for switch roms that don’t limit the f pit of my download
At the price point of the 1TB OLED being on par with the ROG ally, which would be better for a MMORPG such as World of Warcraft..
Nice laptop but you can get a chromebook for that price and it has about the same functionality as a the steam deck laptop mod without the wire
But I don’t want a Chromebook. I’m not sure I could get a Chromebook as powerful as this setup with a 2.5k monitor and a nice keyboard. Even if I could, I still don’t want another computer when my Steam Deck is already a full-fledged computer.
I don't have still steam deck but I'm watching this video 😂
hahah let's go!
What are the joy cons on that switch? @3:54
i just looked and doesn't look like they sell them anymore ;(
Great video,
thank you :D
Those glasses cost as much if not mire than the steam deck who is gonna buy those 😂
That’s really to highlight how affordable the Steam Deck is.

Steam deck OLED owner here, most of this stuff is ass and u don't need, what for me its a buy is: esentially a screen protector, not for falls but for dust, if ur deck falls the screen will be the last thing to worry about, a good usbc cable, a good powerbank and some micro sd, i personally prefer Samsung EVO 512(i hsve 3), also u dont need that protection shit at all, its like puting an armour to ur cpu😂 totally no sense and overheats, for a bag u could get the jsaux box but its big so its a 50/50 for me, not easy to carry
