The idea of having someone in the bag is kinda rapey in that context too. Like there's an assumption of something he didn't ask consent yet for. Surprised they didn't comment on that. Maybe I'm just reading into it too much.

@@pencil6965 A learned response. Numbing herself prevents feeling overwhelmed by the negative comments. Being emotionally detached makes it easier to handle being bombarded by insults constantly. Gamers do this all the time (eg, first time someone tells you over voice chat that you're a noob, most people get upset - after a while, you learn to detach from what people say so it doesn't feel like a personal insult).

As for the "I will make it worth" guy. Actually, for the sad lonely types, as you said some of these (mostly) men have not had role models and education. They may *literally* have never gotten clear feedback, one way or the other, for most of their behaviors or impulses. They might keep a lid on it IRL so much they never get any feedback, because they're so quiet.
In those cases, online can be a relatively safe space for them to get appropriately negative feedback. And then they facepalm and go "of course that was weird". But without operant conditioning, without trying it and failing once, they may never learn. Or they may "know better" in the abstract, yeah yeah, yaa yada, but never internalize. Still feel intuitively that it might be the right move.
Getting negative feedback gives them the chance to learn "ouch, that stings a bit when I get it so wrong. Maybe I'll do better."
The therapist's role is to still be a support, through anything. A stranger, especially a "vulnerable" stranger (a woman in this case, thinking seriously about her own safety) has no such obligation. Sometimes kid gloves keeps a person from learning and growing, keeps them from responding to challenge with adaptation. No challenge, no adaptation, no change, no growth.
Sometimes "no" is more crucial feedback than "yes, and" or "yes, but". Sometimes "nope" does the trick. A little rejection here and there keeps you honest. Particularly as it comes from being out of line. It's just honest feedback. People need that at some point or they will live with rose-colored glasses of how successfully they relate to others, confused why people seem to tolerate but not really open up to or like them deeply. Gotta be honest.
"Not worth" might be harsh, but it might be a needed wake-up call. Impossible to fully guess how they will respond. But they do need to take responsibility for their actions, and this may be a needed signal that it's time to do so, and that the time to do so was technically before they spoke that way in the first place. Debatable, but I think it's right to dish back a lil' bit and send a clearer message in so doing.

This was pretty nice to watch, both interesting and entertaining. Not really familiar with Amouranth and while the comments seem to suggest she's a bit of a controversial figure, she seemed pretty fun and thoughtful, at least from this video.
And on the topic of how to make people change their behavior online instead of just punishing them, that's something I've been thinking about recently too. It seems like no one's really figured out a system that isn't just a ban or a block which doesn't usually do much to actually change how someone acts. The type of communication also seems to differ a lot based on the platform, sometimes it's real-time, sometimes it's asynchronous, sometimes it's 1 person like a streamer talking to many people, other times it's a group of people all having a conversation, and each of those scenarios differs slightly in how people act and how they respond to any corrective actions.
Straight-up calling people out is usually the simplest approach which I've barely seen ever work either because the person calling someone out chooses to be a bit too aggressive about it which makes the other person too defensive or the person being called out just chooses not to accept any blame or responsibility and it can be hard to make them genuinely reflect on whatever actions they did and how it might've been wrong or hurtful. Recently, I'm starting to think that the approach Dr. K takes in this video might be a good one, where you give the offender maybe a bit too much credit and try not to immediately judge them for whatever they did. Instead, you try to understand where they're coming from and try to work on the root of why they acted the way they did instead of focusing on the exact thing they said or did. But that takes a lot more effort and patience and I wonder if people would really be willing to go that far when it's so much easier and feels so much better to just say something snarky to the person or block them or whatever else seems like an appropriate punishment. Interesting stuff to think about.

it's all about the old debate if twitch as a majorly gamestreaming platform should allow sexually suggestive content like i.e. bathtub/bikini streams which amouranth mainly does.
on top of that she advertised her onlyfans through twitch direct message system to her followers and subscribers.
as twitch isnt a rated page and the "safety measures" are just "this stream is for mature audience" with a proceed button, the point of indulging teens and kids in at least suggestive content is for sure moraly bankrupt but maybe even an offense which noone seems to really care about.

I know that she isn't trying to enable toxicity, it's just some of her Twitch chat made their choice by their experience.

You can hate on her for all the degeneracy present in the "content" she offers, but you have to admit that she is capable of having compassion for what most would deem reprehensible and unwarranted behavior from fans. I was kind of surprised during several moments in the video where she so easily glossed over some offensive comments and tried to empathize with the more mild ban cases by inferring the most likely reason (even if ultimately it may not have been true) that could have led to that behavior. Overall it was refreshing to see such a stark contrast to the main image she portrays on Twitch.

I think she is a pretty good guest to have on this topic of acceptable forms of communication. She's well known, she has lots of experience with this type of stuff and they have plenty of examples to draw from.
Now we don't have to accept what she does as right. It's kinda shady in my opinion, even if it's legal. But having her on is not necessarily endorsing her.

what shady things does she do? I dont think putting lewd content on twitch is shady, i mean adult video games and stuff are allowed so why wouldnt she be?

@@botanicalitus4194 It kind of is, because Twitch is a public and reputable domain. Just like UA-cam, and people tried to upload porn to YT many times. On top of that, there's few people who would bypass the nudity policy with "education". Such as, breastfeeding and nude body painting as well with naked yoga (zoomed in just like you see in porn).

@@botanicalitus4194 Didn't said anything about scam, but I guess that is an example. Of course YT is very lazy when it comes to moderation (plus their algorithm and AI couldn't get rid of all of the violating videos). I had seen very raunchy videos on YT than any Twitch streams ever could.
But yeah, I do agree that Amoranth isn't the worst streamer or content creator that people had ever faced. I guess that some people just react to her like they react to a new pornstar. And I do agree of why people would want to see her naked, when there's plenty of porn most adults can access. Other than fresh face.
