My father was that way sometimes I wouldn’t hear him or my mom wouldn’t and he would just EXPLODE. One time I remember him walking out and saying good morning to which I responded good morning. He didn’t hear me, and he dragged me up by my arm and screamed at me for, “not properly greeting him.” I feel sooo beyond bad for her. Living with someone like that is a nightmare every second of everyday. You get “in trouble” for something as simple as breathing wrong.
Something similar happened to me where me and my sister was playing with bubbles in the bathroom and we were laughing at our dad I forgot why but I was like 4-5 years old. When we got out so he can use the restroom we were in my grandmas room. Then when he left I went back to get the bubbles but on my way their he was near the entrance to downstairs so he looked at me and said “come here” then I did and he grabbed me and starting running towards my moms rooms and threw me on the bed and complained “they were laughing at me and I saw tiny bubbles in the bathroom.” Don’t remember everything but that’s basically the gist of it
My dad would scream at me for not responding to his texts immediately at school when it was against the rules at school to be on your phone at all. I got yelled at by my teachers so many times right after being SCREAMED at by my dad.
I just escaped my ex 7 months ago he was like that and I have two kids one of them was his son. But it got to a point where we were scared every moment of the day for almost a year straight. Now I’m in counseling and suffer from ptsd and depression and extreme anxiety. One time I was trying to leave him and he held me hostage in his room and when I tried to scream for anyone to call the cops he gagged me with a washcloth yeah & that was not even the worst of what he’s done to me. I’m convinced some ppl are truly evil without having a backstory that made them that way.

Saying "just leave" undermines what they've gone through, however, no matter what they do staying is never going to fix it either when it's that bad. This was so hard to listen to. I felt like I was having an anxiety attack. It instantly took me back 10 years to the relentless abuse I lived with for far too long. I applaud her decision to air it on stream, in spite of the anxiety she must have felt in the aftermath. It was probably the only way for her to get free. By the time I left my ex I was starting to truly believe I was crazy and that I was the bad partner. "It died down to quickly": Seeing as she got legal help she might not be allowed to speak on it publically until it is solved.
"Why does she stay with him if he´s so abusive": When it´s psychological abuse (like in this case) it starts off with minr things you wouldn´t notice and slowly escalates. Abuse victims often dont realise they are being abused because they´re so used to it. Read up on intimate partner violence, it´s a thing and it´s devestating.
"If it was real her friends/manager/family would´ve called the cops": Here I´ll once again direct you to reading up on intimate partner violence. Abuse doesn´t happen out in the streets, it happens at home when you´re alone. The same way most sexual assault cases don´t happen in a public place with someone you don´t know. It happens in your home with someone close to you.
And even if they did know, abuse victims are often so brainwashed by their s/o that they think their friends are wrong, that they only se the bad in their s/o, that they don´t know enough or are just straight up lying.

When we got out so he can use the restroom we were in my grandmas room. Then when he left I went back to get the bubbles but on my way their he was near the entrance to downstairs so he looked at me and said “come here” then I did and he grabbed me and starting running towards my moms rooms and threw me on the bed and complained “they were laughing at me and I saw tiny bubbles in the bathroom.” Don’t remember everything but that’s basically the gist of it
My dad would scream at me for not responding to his texts immediately at school when it was against the rules at school to be on your phone at all. I got yelled at by my teachers so many times right after being SCREAMED at by my dad.
I just escaped my ex 7 months ago he was like that and I have two kids one of them was his son. But it got to a point where we were scared every moment of the day for almost a year straight. Now I’m in counseling and suffer from ptsd and depression and extreme anxiety. One time I was trying to leave him and he held me hostage in his room and when I tried to scream for anyone to call the cops he gagged me with a washcloth yeah & that was not even the worst of what he’s done to me. I’m convinced some ppl are truly evil without having a backstory that made them that way.

As an only child to a single mother who went through these kind of things with me cowering on the stairs wishing i was old enough to help my mom, this stuff hit hard and brought back an uncomfortable amount of memories with the audio alone. This is real, anyone who thinks otherwise is beyond lucky to be privileged enough to not have lived in a truly abusive household

This was so hard to listen to. I felt like I was having an anxiety attack. It instantly took me back 10 years to the relentless abuse I lived with for far too long. I applaud her decision to air it on stream, in spite of the anxiety she must have felt in the aftermath. It was probably the only way for her to get free.
By the time I left my ex I was starting to truly believe I was crazy and that I was the bad partner.
Listening to her husband and reading his texts had me in tears and I wish I could reach through the tv and hug her, hold her, help and support her through the days ahead. I don't know much about how she's doing these days but I sure hope she has good people around her. Thank you so much for sharing this. As hard as it was to watch, your voice needs to be heard, we need more voices like yours to rise above the absolute neanderthal garbage gum flapping trying to fill the space.
