Me 2 seconds into the video starting:
"Oh Beth, you have no idea what you're in for." 😜
I love that you are checking all these reactions out too =) Will is such a beast
Literally 2 seconds after:
*enjoying one of the heaviest 2021 song lmao*
Pretty much yeah ahah
Beth six minutes later: "I'd love to go to a Lorna Shore Singalong! *scream*"
You definitely should've done Will's "One Take" video of this song. This guy has shot up to the top tier of metal vocalists. He also did a great interview with the Charismatic Voice channel.
True, but I suspect she's just going with whatever link most people submit. And while the vocals are much more "forward" in the One Take there's definitely benefits to seeing the full production for the first introduction too, even for a Vocal Coach.
But yeah, second Lorna Shore should be a one-take, probably "Of the Abyss" since she's now done this and it's not important enough to warrant a re-take. IE: ua-cam.com/video/FiaWsdTPbSw/v-deo.html
no harm taking a first look at this one BUT if we revisiting will ramos, the one take on his channel 'Of the Abyss' is my favourite song off the ep anyhow and would be awesome
Will Ramos is simply memorizing to watch.
100% agree
I reaaaaally wanna hear him do clean vocals on their upcoming album
THIS is the most WHOLESOME FUCKING REACTION to this song I've EVER SEEN!!!!......You are a gem. Welcome to the other side fellow ginger 🤘😁🤘
10/10 most underrated comment
Yo Galactic Criminal in the house! Love your channel glad to see you around these parts :D
I would like this comment but it's at 69 likes and I don't want to ruin it.
Ginger is offensive, you can call her ginga. It's the er part that's offensive😅 I'll see myself out now *shuts virtual door*
@@justinbowen1183 Pretty sure he's a ginger too. He always has a hat on though so judging from his glorious beard :D
"these really brutal sounds, I get to a point where I find it quite soothing.". Congratulations! You've become a metal head 🤘
Pretty much ahah
She've learnt 😌
We have to introduce her to Japanoise next. I wonder if she'll feel the same way after hearing Masonna
I knew I should’ve scrolled first because I just said the exact same thing 😂
Will Ramos... what a guy. His one take version of live vocals is incredible
It’s superhuman lol quite literally 😦
He also seems to be a very sweet and nice dude :).
@@phrike7588 Definitely seemed that way on the Charismatic Voice interview. He was very friendly and nice.
@@phrike7588 have you seen his interviews with Charismatic voice on YT and Nik Nocturnal on Twitch?
Couldn’t agree more
I love the contrast between him performing this and the absolute sweetheart he comes across as in the interview he did with Charismatic Voice 😅
Haha yeah me too
Vocals: Satan incarnate
The person behind the vocals: “OH NO THEY GONNA SEE MY BOOGIES”
WE DID IT BOYS...... we got beth into Deathcore😂😂 6:22 is hilarious lmao
must say that Metal is possibly the only genre that pushes the boundaries of all aspects of its musicianship vocal/guitar/drums/song structure….
Classical been doing that since the 1700's. Bebop jazz, Avant garde, and bluegrass also subgenres that pushes the boundaries in music and there's probably plenty of non western music that does as well.
@@billybobthekidiswack Metal has continued for 7 decades…ie.1960s to be a boundary pusher, like no other genre…
@@H3avyHaul3r Metal has yet to push the boundaries of what classical music has done via complex compositional arrangement, technicality, or vocal performance. Metal has pushed vocals into new areas of delivery and took virtuosic drumming to a new extreme which Is undeniable. Sure you have bands like First fragment, Ne obliviscaris, Ad nauseam, archspire, and many power metal bands that are pushing the genre even farther but most of those bands are either Neoclassical or inspired by 20th century contemporary Avant garde music.
Agreed
@@billybobthekidiswack Glad to see people still have enough knowledge to have this opinion! Classical and metal (and all of their subgenres) are two of the highest musical artforms there are. Cheers friend.
Others :Soo Will what type of screams you are doing? Will: YES
It was either that or, "All of them."
This song and Demolisher by Slaughter To Prevail completed the work in me that Tatiana of Jinjer began: opening my ears to harsh vocals. I think Beth gets it exactly right here when she says it's important to acknowledge that we have those baser instincts. Will Ramos holds up the mirror in front of me with this vocal, supported by the brutal precision of the rest of the band. Kudos.
Hey. Listen to Extermination Disemberment or Tactosa - sink or swim.
Time to switch to Dickie Allen then :)
@@shroomso4430 my man!!
You have to do the Will Ramos' vocal one take play through of this song, it's insane and highlights his vocals and technique so much more, the vocals are also a lot more prominent in the mix.
I don't listen to metal this heavy, but I always find myself putting this band on because I'm just fascinated with how talented the front man is.
Me too. Will Ramos is got crazy skills.
Having accidentally fallen asleep to Dying Fetus (among many others, lol) a number of times I can confirm death metal is very soothing. Hilarious reaction! Love your energy.
Yes Gonezo, very relaxing, fell asleep to cannibal corpse in the bath 😂
Hey Beth, like everyone else I would recommend checking Wills One Take on this or Of The Abyss, but since you mentioned that you need to play this while working out, PLEASE do a reaction for Eskimo Cowboy's Pump It, I'm sure you'll have fun with it
You mean Eskimo callboy
@@traviscarroll216 yep, that's exactly qhat I ment to say, guess just didn't notice what I typed lol
Metal calms me down..I have no idea why. But it does. Always has.
Same here
This song is so damn good. It still gives me chills, even after hearing it 100 times and seeing so many reaction videos. 🤘
Metal does the same thing for me! Struggled with anxiety in the past, metal was the best therapy when I needed to evacuate the negativity & anger👌
I also have always found extreme-metal to be soothing... Finally someone understands me :D
I used to listen to really aggressive metal when I came home from school taking a nap while waiting for my parents to get home and make dinner. Definitely soothing for me. Especially some songs where there is sort of a chaos you can "float on top of"
Lorna Shore was one of those good bands those most wouldn't have heard without lineup change which brought Will in, and afterwards produced EP ...And I Return to Nothingness, which is brilliant in every aspect, when you dig deeper on Wills extraordinary vocals, making it one of my favourite releases of 2020. Still gives something new on every listening, but dunno about soothing, this is more like buff up song for me! And by his profile and interviews, Will is a wholesome dude!
Idk CJ was really good and basically made gravel vocals in signs of the swarm Will is def more talented and I do like him more but that last album with CJ like dude that was so good and another reason I think they really good with this album is because it’s 3 songs it’s way easier to improve and work on 3 songs to make them good I wish more bands did this instead of full albums that some songs are good and some aren’t because this has their full attention
Been a metalhead for over 40 years, every so often a band comes along you just know are going to be huge - Lorna Shore are one, what a song this is! Another is Konvent, an all female band from Denmark - lead singer has the deepest female vocal I've ever heard, check out 'Puritan Masochism' by them.
Konvent are cool, butz I think there are bands around with deeper vocals. Som who was previously in Cerebral Bore among others comes to mind, but there are also brutal death or grindcore chicks who can go way deeper
@@Luemm3l Abnormality is fucking awesome.
I wish people liked Lorna shore sooner lol. I mean they've been top tier from the start. Once CJ joined they kinda got bigger. And are even bigger now with Will. Hate CJ, but with Will it's definitely justified. But this bands sound hasn't really changed all that much. Everything they do now, they did back when they were more strictly deathcore. Check out their album Flesh Coffin. The original vocalist Tom Barber is one of favorites still, and his writing inspired alot of other deathcore outlets like Shadow of Intent and 3ven Will has said hes taken inspiration from him. I'd definitely recommend going into their catalogue.
@@Smithysmithin I admit I'd just written them off as another basic deathcore band but soon as I heard this I was like 'holy fuck!' , currently really into all the Blackened Deathcore I can find, Worm Shepherd are great too.
@@KevinLeitch they really aren't. A lot of that blackened deathcore feel has actually been pushed by them since the beginning tbh. Like even back with all their EPs, its deathcore but very noticeably different then all the other bands you could compare them with. Trust me. Give Flesh Coffin a listen. And then listen to all their music cause they are awesome.
"I'm like a kid in a sweeties shop of sounds." 06:05 Saying while reacting to Lorna Shore :)
You finally did it!
In deathcore - and metal in general - this is the track of the year 2021!
Ramos is a beast and when accompanied by Lorna Shore, it's...... Pure magic.
Love seeing you clap your hands to the heaviest, most perfectly executed breakdown of the year😉
Also I second the comment that you should check out Ramos' one take on this track.
I agree. But only because Shadow of Intent released Elegy in 2022.
I genuinely love how Beth is so open to this borderline demonic sounding melodic deathcore. I mean it requires so much talent/skills and when it’s appreciated, it means so much.
It's truly amazing to see how extreme vocalists keep pushing themselves to go even further than before. Will is one of those insane talents that can totally deliver the goods.
Great! The "white noise" thing is something i can absolutely relate to. I feel the same when listening to some extremer Metal like Wiegedood, celeste and other like this... it is very calming and sometimes it is like some hinduism chanting which helps to get calmer....
the power at the end gives me chills!!
The one take is pretty insane. Fairly incredible that he’s making all of these sounds with minimal effects.
Hands down, one of my favourite bands - so glad you're reacting to them! Will is a vocal beast 💪
It's really soothing. It's wonderful to just channelthe agression
“It’s funny I actually find these brutal sounds rather soothing” this is why we’re metal heads 🤘🏻
Hey Beth, if you liked this you should definetly check either this one or "Of The Abyss" one take vocal performance, Will is a beast even live
First (sorry, I had to)
If you're willing to do this song again, Will Ramos did a one take playthrough of this song and it's even better than this studio version. He has also done one for Of The Abyss. Much love!
You didn't have to. Especially since you're second, not first, and the real first didn't say first.
THIS REACTION BROUGHT ME SO MUCH JOY! I came across you way back when you did the Jinjer - Pisces reaction, and I LOVE these metal reactions. I think, as metal musicians/enthusiasts we are so used to first time reactions to our music being so negative that when someone lights up and smiles the way you do, we all just can't help but love you.
SUPER excited about this!
I think this song is a 10/10 for it's genre. Every instrument and part is just awesome and Will Ramos is exceptional.
Finally!!!! I’ve been dying for you to react to this! Will Ramos is absolutely amazing and does some wild stuff with his vocals!
The pure joy Beth experiences in listening to this had me smiling the whole time. I love it.
"Embracing the ugly sides of your voice...", such an great phrase for all people who rejects/dislikes/hates this kinds of extreme voices and sounds.
If you find the sounds of metal soothing, it's rather normal... I hope.
Best thing about metal in its entirety is that songs feel different nearly every time.
Will Ramos is so Amazing, you should try and interview him, you two would have such a wonderful conversation. He is unbelievably nice.
This is why I love your channel you get just as excited as i do when it comes to these awesome vocal feats I get just as giddy!!!!!!!! Also you should really check out the one take playthrough
As others have mentioned, his one take performance of this song and Of The Abyss are a must watch. He’s an incredible vocalist.
This is the best live reaction of this song, your expressions made me smile. :D
I love how excited you got hahaha its amazing how you broke this down. Super interesting perspective.
Loved your reactions and takes 💛
You’ve gotta see Will’s one take, he’s so calm during it while sounding like demon
Also, YOU TOTALLY UNDERSTAND METAL!
Best reaction to this song that I've seen. Thanks, Beth!
So awesome, great reaction and run-through!
Definitely should check out wills one take of “Of the Abyss” you can really hear him over everything and it’s amazing.
I definitely prefere Of the abyss to this, not that this song isnt amazing
One of my favorite reactions of this song!
So enthusiastic and light-hearted! You criticized this song so well I love it!
I love when you talked about this song being quite relaxing because I feel the same! Metal really helps me sleep because I can zone out from everything else around me
It is very soothing and cathartic to me actually. I find it very interesting that you mentioned that 😮😮 great video 🖤🖤
This reaction was adorable 😂🖤 you singing along is me in the car running my errands! Definitely have to pop on some heavy stuff to relax sometimes👌🏽
Also would love a The Acacia Strain reaction video, I think you would find their musicianship interesting as well!
Love the reactions…almost head banging !🤘
I love this reaction video the best! I love how you’re truly enjoying the music! I totally find it soothing too, my husband thinks I’m insane. I’m glad you’re the same! 🤘❤️
PS, pleaaaase do the one take!!
it is soothing, especially with lorna shores background symphonies that make it very pleasant to the ear
This song is crazy as fuck! The brutal harmony between choirs and screams are fucking amazing! The lyrics is like a prayer to the devil (Asrael), and everything, words and screams connect to sensations, goosebumps. You can feel like he's practically literally descending into hell. The last "agony screams" say it all
Yes metal is soothing to me. I saw a video not too long ago covering how people who listen to metal are happier because all their frustration has metal as an outlet and I would have to agree. Great reaction as always! Thanks.
before i hit the play button.. im so excited
I discovered this band a couple weeks ago and saw they were playing in Chicago in May and purchased them immediately 🤘🤘
It's about time!!! I've been requesting this for months. Will is a beast and he will take this genre to a new level...whatever that genre is!!! Does it really matter. The band is as good as Will. Saw their last show in PA before they headed off to Europe. Just as good live. BTW, also saw them at a restaurant located in the same building as the venue. Will is a gem...just saying. He would be more than interested to do an interview. You should try.
Still requesting your reaction to Imminence!!! However, here should be two reactions. Album version then the acoustic version of the same song.
Lorna Shorne understands the assignment always lol Love them!!
Beth, I love how you describe things.
They're on tour right now in support of their new album. I just saw them in Massachusetts and they KILLED IT
This was one of the cutest and funniest reacts of this song, I really liked it
I really like your take on the mix especially with the vocals. I sent this song to a singer/composer friend of mine who's never listened to anything close to the extreme side of metal and she was extremely impressed and enjoyed it alot. Her take on the vocal mixing was the same as yours. I've seen alot of back and forth comments on the mixing and it seems people who have a good understanding of music production usually feel the same way.
U have one of the most soothing speaking voices I’ve ever heard. Damn
Your channel is amazing.
Thank you so much 😀
I'm glad she saw this first because I can't wait to see her react to the one take version and see how perfect it is lol
I love how you love the complexity of the human voice. I would love to see you reacting to some beatbox videos in here like Vocodah, King Inertia, Codfish, D-Low, Reeps One
Love your channel, Beth! This is my first time hearing these guys, too. Seen them pop up on lots of other reaction channel, but for whatever reason I never bothered to check them out. Pleasantly surprised. Will reminds me a lot of Dickie Allen from Infant Annihilator. He's probably the best extreme metal vocalist out there at the moment. Check out the video for Three Bastards for a really entertaining introduction to them. Thank you for being awesome!
There is nothing more refreshing than a musician analyzing Lorna Shore and the talent required to produce and affirm this type of art. Love your vids
I appreciate all these vocal coaches giving metal so much praise 👏
You really gotta check out Oathbreaker - 10:56 / Second Son Of R (the Audiotree live performance) it would be another great metal reaction
Think it's safe to say that the absolute joy and astonishment on Beth's face is a proper tonic. Was wondering if this song would make it on here, really glad it did :)
Metal is definitely calming for me. Thanks for this :)
Amazing reaction! You need to check out his one take. He does ALL of this in one pure take. Keep being you! You rock.
Love going to sleep with music on, people call it "extreme" but have no idea how relaxing it can be. Music has dragged me kicking and screaming through life and hasn't stopped, it never will.
If this intrigues this much, will ramos (vocalist) has a live one take version of this on his channel so you can get a better indepth look at his vocals
7:36 no...no that is very normal lol I actually listen to stuff like this to calm down and relax 😂
Beth!! Finally I've been waiting this reaction on your your channel!! Hopefully you'll do reaction of his vocal playthrough also another one song is 'Of the abyss'
You said it exactly right with pure catharsis. That's the reason why I have always loved metal.
There have been many of nights where I have fallen asleep to metal music. It not only gives me energy while I'm awake and puts me in a good mood but I don't listen to it when I'm angry or to get angry it's actually the complete opposite for me being a metalhead it's soothing to me. Great video thank you
so satisfying that more and more women start to enjoy this genre. Respect that u all try something new and see the postive side, not the obvious one
This is the most wholesome reaction I ever saw
thought I was the only one who slept jamming this stuff. love beths reactions and excitement 😆 come to the metal side girl🤘
Me gusta su cara de cómo lo disfruta
Loved the giddiness at the end 🖤🖤🖤🤘🤘🤘
Love this love you
OMG quite soothing 😂😂😂
Awesome reaction! Please do one of the one take version of the abyss!!
I hope you caught the video a few months ago from The Charismatic Voice where she took Will Ramos to get a camera recording inside his throat as he did these vocals. Very cool.
He actually only does fry. He just has such good control that he can easily switch up and down and make those different sounds with his tongue. Like the more Gollumly sounds on his highs.
Yes the chorus fkin BANGS
Nothing is better than watching an open-minded person witness Will Ramos’ skill.
I can confirm. Working out to any music made by will ramos is AMAZING
I also find it soothing. I listen to pretty harsh music to relax. Especially black metal for some reason. Maybe because of it's ambience
Literally....rawr!
Lorna Shore is absolutely 🔥🔥🔥🔥
