Why Magnesium?
Magnesium, the fourth most abundant mineral in the human body, plays a role in over 300 metabolic processes. It participates in the development and maintenance of bones and teeth; the metabolism of carbohydrates, blood glucose, fats, and proteins; the formation of cells and tissues; and the maintenance of muscle function, including cardiac muscle. At MYOXCIENCE, we use Albion®’s TRAACS® magnesium lysinate glycinate (mineral amino acid chelate) and Albion’s chelated dimagnesium malate-both formulated for enhanced absorption. Malic acid (from di-magnesium malate) supports energy production and lactic acid clearance via the Krebs cycle. Malic acid may also support antioxidant systems by enhancing glutathione and antioxidant enzymes.*

My husband was getting some real memory issues; thought he was getting either dementia & or Parkinson’s because his head & hands started shaking just when he was sitting! I started him on some supplements but the main being Magnesium L-Threonate & after 2 weeks he you could see improvement. After taking it for a solid month he was fine, no more shaking & his memory & focusing was greatly improved! We wouldn’t be without it now! He’s been taking it about 7 months & WOW what a difference! His focusing & memory is as good as it was 10-15 years ago, truly! It’s wonderful. I also include a dose of Mag Glycinate with it.
Is this helping with sleep as well?
Wow thats a good news! How much L-Threonate Magnesium does he takes per day?
Ya this is late? I would like to know also?@@selecaodevideos3466
@Austin Harp Fitness Are you sure you don't mean mg instead of mcg?
How much does he take? I'm dealing with a PD diagnosis, and have been taking Mag Threo but probably not enough (50 - 100 mg, + other mag) .
3-4 grams of glycine at bedtime increases deep REM sleep. It doesn't help you fall asleep, but helps you stay asleep. I love it. Best deep sleep ever.
I pair that with a herbal sleep extract and I am out like a light with vivid dreams.

If I take gylcine in powder...it is actually magnesium? So I dont need to buy extra magnesium glycinate? Im confused

Dad has been on painkillers and doctors had him on all kinds of pharmaceuticals, Colace, Dulcolax, Senna.....not always working he struggled with constipation... he suffered constantly and we had to go to the emergency room on one occasion, he was so impacted. I discovered after doing some research about magnesium and purchased a reasonably priced triple magnesium with oxide, citrate and aspartate and have never had a problem since....also yogurt with probiotics.
Worked like charm!!!
Yogurt always contains probiotics. Better than yoghurt would be kefir as probiotics in yogurt is not really as much and usable as in body than in kefir
Oxides are trash
thats the best explanation of the different kinds of magnesium I've heard from anyone. and I've listened to a few over the last several months! thank you
Thanks a lot for very simple and educational explanation about different forms of Magnesium.
I'm taking Magnesium L- Threonate for sleeping - didn't do anything the first night, but the second night I really got drowsy and it helped me sleep better than anything I've tried.
I use magnesium oxide for 9-10 years and I'm very active. I take 400-600mg a day. That is simply because there was not another option in my small Meditteranean country. Only recently we got here Mg glycinate and it's 3 times more expensive than oxide and citrate. Citrate is also very expensive here. I don't even think about buying online 'cause only shipping to this area is the question itself and costs more than the product itself.
From the creative point of view, those short-informative types of videos are excellent Mike! You're finally focusing on the actual topic than on the stuff do we hear you, is camera ok, etc. From many professionals out there (keto&carnivore) your conversations with experts bring the most value. It's because you lead the dialogue mindfully and meaningfully.
I love the naming of "myoxcience" Thank you for everything you provide🙏🏻
I take citrate for constipation but didn't realize it had poor absorption properties so I'll get one of the others you mentioned, thanks.
If it helps you with constipation, you're absorbing it.
Well, I have a couple of reasons so maybe I should take both citrate & threonate? 🤔🤗 I actually got the #3 problem resolved after much study & herbs & adding & dropping foods! Thank you for the info! Short & to the point like I ❤! 😘😇☝🙏
Got my Magnesium Glycinate today , will see if it works. Thank you for info
If you reading this, have a good day and be safe. God bless you 🙏🏻❤️

Hi I- thank you for this podcast good information! I currently take mega mega liquid 400 mg and L-threonate powder I believe it’s 2 g. I’m taking it as a muscle relaxer for my leg cramps and sleep. Can you recommend anything else or a different version?

Super helpful !!! Thank you Mike ... always learning something new from you 🙏. Until I watched this I did not know that I have been taking the wrong magnesium type for what I needed it for. Duh 🙄
I'm a ReMag fan.. My husband was critically low with heart issues. Despite giving mag via IV Drs still couldn't get his levels up. A friend have us her ReMag and it did the trick.
I've been using regular Mag. sulfate, pure grade, with great results, simply put it my drinking water, completely dissolves, no sediment to harm intestines, and tastes good.
Helpful info. Thanks for your sharing.
ty going to try one of the versions you recommend on my next purchase and compare - currently taking Mag glycinate but can only tolerate a half dose
I actually use M citrate because my bowels have always been sluggish. I would rather that than Miralax which my gastroenterologist recommended.
I thought all magnesium helped bowels move faster. I was using citrate for years, but in late 2020 I switched to glycinate, and I feel like my bowels have been less mobile. Not slow that it has become an issue, but slower than before.
I have now found a citrate, glycinate, malate, and taurinate blend that I'm going to switch to, to cover all bases. I liked the citrate effect on bowel transit.
Thanks for letting me know the difference. Next time I'm about done with the magnesium citrate I'm going to switch over to the glycinate. Great video
why were taking citrate?
how much were you taking?
what happened after you stopped citrate?
how are you now?

Thank you, I didn’t put enough emphasis understanding the carrier with it.
Everyone says Chelate is best but I feel nothing from it while I feel very relaxed from other forms. About to try L-Threonate and very excited. I really like your take on this and using the types for specific purposes.

What magnesium is good against calcification and narrowing of the arteries
I suffer from episodic migraines and started on 600mg/day Mag citrate in late 2020 when the intensity and frequency of my migraines shot up exponentially, my photophobia became more pronounced and pharmacotherapy wasn't doing a thing to help. After two months I went from 18-23 headache days/ month to 7-10. I became a believer in Mag supplementation. When I started on Vit D3 supplementation during the winter, my migraines went down a bit to 5-7 headache days/ month (I was vit d deficient- check your levels!!!). Last month I came across an article on Mag L-threonate and how it crosses the blood brain barrier. I pretty much slept 9-10 hours a day for the first week I started on them (600mg/d). My thinking and alertness became a lot clearer, brain fog a thing of the past, and probably the best effect- whenever I feel a migraine approaching, timely pharmacotherapy can simmer it back down, this never happened before. I've had just one full on migraine since I started on them last month, so its not a miracle worker. Still, I would highly recommend Mag L-threonate to any migraine sufferer, skip the cheaper formulations that have low absorption and bioavailability and go for L-threonate.
Awesome video as usual MIke. Could you please do a similar video on zinc? This is a great series of videos, as many people are conflicted about this topic. About B12, as I understand Methlcobamlamin is the best.

I am looking for help with nighttime leg cramps. I do work out and have no cramps then, but about 3-4:00 in the morning I am woke up with KILLER cramps that bring tears!!!
I've recently changed from the glycinate form to the threonate form. I'm a healthy 70 y.o. woman with mild osteopenia. May I ask which is optimal?
I will get PVC and PAC on occasion and have been on Mag malate for about 2 years now.
Seems to help somewhat but have
recently read some good info on the benefits of mag taurate.
In your opinion is there any problem combining the two forms of mag?
I currently take 425 mg of the malate and was thinking about adding 200 mg of the taurate.
I also get neck and shoulder pain which the malate seems to be better for.
What to do...what to do.
Thanks
Mr. Mutzel, I watched your podcast with Tom Bilyeu, the only one of his ever ones that I have watched from the beginning to the end. I always was your subscriber and I felt really proud seeing you there.
I do have a question though, in this video, do you infer that if one has citrate form of Mg, that it doesn't get into the body. Ultimately, for people who need just Magnesium in their body, do you assert that citrate is only limited to bowel movements?
Won't citrate still be providing us Mg if one doesn't need a targeted form for sleep or blood pressure or something?
Which is best for anxiety and mild depression? I have been taking various forms but I just added the L-Threonate form.
Take magnesium with food or not? Your content is amazing thank you!!!
Doesn’t really impact absorption much in this case

I usually use Mg βHB although I still get the laxative effect. I do wonder if they didn't cut it with some citrate or of that also just happens to give the laxative effect.
Is magnesium bisglycinate ok to take while fasting? Reason I ask is because it’s bound to an amino acid. I’m starting my first 72 hour fast and want to get the stem cell benefits
I started to take magnesium for high blood pressure, then really took it serious when I broke my ankle and love the unexpected side effects which have kept me on magnesium daily. 1. My cardiologist (actually a PA at the doctor's office) suggested magnesium to help with PVCs. The two options recommended were either oxide or glycinate. Many other online sources say the oxide form is not useful for much other than bowel movements (similar to citrate). A couple other online sources recommend the orotate form of magnesium for heart PVCs. Do you have any insight on the orotate form, or what form would be best for heart PVCs?

Thank you for the correction about magnesium citrate - will check the label :-)
My chosen magnesium for cellular cleansing - especially of the bowels - is ozonated magnesium, which, in the brand I purchase, is a large molecule of magnesium (so not useful as a laxative or nourishment) ozonated. In my case, better than a laxative because it also works at a cellular level.

Citrate is good to reduce the amount of Oxalate absorption , so it could help those eating so called healthy superfoods such as spinach, almonds, turmeric and many other plant foods that contain those antinutrients Oxalates.
You are totally right about that.

raw spinach is around 500 or 600.
cooked spinach jumps to a whopping 1500.

I use all three; citrate helps me sleep along with glycinate. I use l-threonate in the day and actually take Malate in the morning.
