Thank you for adding this video I believe I'll have a much easier time now installing this unit. One thing I realized when you mentioned about the chain being placed on top or on the bottom is probably because it depends on whether you want your gate to open towards the left or the right. Thanks again!
Get the extended warranty when buying these available from Amazon at checkout! I did as 2 years later the motherboard needs replacement. Opener will sometimes work and sometimes not. I have 6 remotes and all gave the same non functioning results, so it wasn't the remotes. Testing of the unit got it working occasionally but only if the remote is no more than 1 feet from the unit. I've been paid already from the insurance and motherboards are available from Aliexpress or Ebay for about 60$. When it was working, it was opening about 8-10x per day and I was able to activate from about 300' away... very happy with the results.
For additional security, you should install a "U" bracket on the pillar so that when the gate is in the closed position, the gate will slide into the U- portion of the bracket . This secures the gate from being lifted off the track (swung in or out like a door on a hinge), which would allow someone to gain access to the property.
Hamiltonville Farm - Thanks Hank. Yes, she is growing daily. I’m so glad this project is almost over. It really transformed the backyard. Still have conduit and final wiring to do. On the downhill slide.
@@HeritageFarmsTexas Thanks for the feedback. You said no manual, did you happen to make a wiring diagram? If so I'm like a copy. What's with these China companies, no manuals, or wiring diagrams.
Thanks for the video. My Co-Z gate opener has been working for 4 years, all of the sudden, it only works in one direction. We opened the motor box, manually moved a switch up and down, we can make the gate work one direction, but not the other direction. By moving the switch down, it reverses the direction the gate opens/closes. Something is off. We now pulled open the key/lock handle, disengage the automation and open/close the gate manually. Have you had such experience?

I made my gate opener out of a chamberlain garage door motor and old bicycle parts for the gears. It has been in service for 26 years. It's getting a little tired so I ordered one of the co-z openers. Hopefully, it lasts as long as my frankenopener.
Good job on this. I never have I stone of these before but it looks simple to me I’ll be installing one for a friend of mine. He said the previous owner removed the old one so it may have existing electrical. I enjoyed watching the video 😎😎😎

Hi, you mentioned you have it hardwired now. Have you done anything in the event of a power outage and you are on the other side of the fence and cannot get to the manual release?
Good question. We also have a walk through gate. In the event of power outage, we can walk though side gate, then manually open the slider. Thanks for watching.
Great videos. I bought one of these for a customer. We’re doing a fence and auto gate. Really excited too. Did you have to buy wheels for your gate? Also does it require the concrete pad? No problem if it does because concrete work is my bread n butter. Thanks again for the video and the troubleshooting tips.
Hello, thanks for watching. Yes I purchased wheels for the gate and welded them on. I have a gate video guild on my channel. Yes, you need a concrete pad / anchors for motor, lots of torque. Hope that helps.
How far did you place your motor base from your fence gate? The instructions does not mention any measurements for the placement of the motor with respect to the fence. I am ready to pour the cement pad for the base, but not sure exactly how far I need the motor to be from the fence. Nice video, very informative .
Manuel Lopez - thanks for watching. The bottom rail is literally a rolling gate rail. You can buy them from any fence supply co. You cannot find that at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Has to be a fence co.
Hello, I do not believe so. There was nothing in their directions. It does operate like a garage remote though. I may play around and try that. Good idea.
Hello, we made the gate by welding two fence panels together. We have another video that shows us building the gate. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
I purchased two of these same Co-z machines. I too have a problem with the infrared sensor working backwards. I too have my gate set up just like yours. The instructions does say how to run the chain on center sprocket. My question was..... Did you switch the direction of the gate switch on the CPU Board along with the direction of the chain on main sprocket or was the only change made was the sprocket deal? I’m getting ready to install the open gate opener today. Thanks. Good video by the way! Adrian,
Does this come with motion sensors? I have kids and don’t want it to close on them. Does it have a retraction meaning if the gate accidentally hits something it will open back up? Thanks
Kevin T - hello, thanks for watching. The opener does not come with any sensors. You have to buy one separately. There is no retraction from “Touch”. The way this one works is just like a garage door, once the beam is broke, the gate opens and stops. Hope that helps.
Did you have to cut the power cord to make it work, thats how my installer did, i was little upset installer didn't use the regular electric wires cable for the power
Hello, thanks for watching. I’m not sure what cord you are referring to. We hard wired ours using standard romax and placed it in conduit. Hope that helps.
Very nice looking place. That gate will be really nice to have privacy. I like what you did in front of your truck with the garden that sets the whole place off. As far as that gate code.... Ahh.. I think I will check in at the regular hotel hahaha
Thanks for watching. Sorry, I’m no expert. Just a home owner. I would check your magnet brackets to make sure they’re aligned. That was my biggest issue. Good luck.
Yes it does. I would have never thought it. But it does. I’ve had to replace a key fob, but all in all it works. Keep in mind my gate is fairly light and rolls extremely easy. I think a heavy gate would tax it.
They could have designed this much cleaner and simpler if they had had magnets that you could clamp on the chain itself, with the open/close sensors mounted inline with the chain.
Hello, define safe. It’s pretty safe, but if someone wants in, they can ram the gate and knock it off the track. It’s more of a deterrent than anything.

I think the opener has a timer built in to close after 30, 45 or 60 seconds. It’s one of the slide switches on the panel. Your owners manual should show it. Good luck.
