That hundreds are comparing covers- Pink to Ann to Gretchen plus a few other vocalists and ofc you’re all free to park your opinions here. For those who aren’t aware this tribute was also for a favorite charity MusiCares. Dave (and the Hawkins family) managed to get 15 of the greatest rock drummers who could make it to LA. Bands reunited for the event and musicians whom Taylor loved and admired were invited to the stage. This night was a gathering of grieving band mates, family, friends and fans.
Many seem to be missing the point and get off on trash talking which I have a low tolerance of. Again, please keep your comments respectful.
I don’t see how someone stating a preference is trash talk. I love P!nk’s voice but I prefer Ann’s, does that make her superior to P!nk? Or does is denigrate P!nk’s performance? No it doesn’t. Stop being offended for other people who don’t care. P!nk clearly enjoyed singing it and had her fan girl moment when going on stage to meet Nancy… which shows she respects Heart.

I have tons of footage of Dave and one favorite time was watching him and the Foos rehearse “Jet” for Paul McCartney’s special night as POTY. He is who he is and it’s his authenticity and availability that makes him loved around the world.
David has became one of my favorite musicians. Seems like a dude that just loves people and music. Just my take

Yeah she’s a powerhouse! Nancy played an awesome version of Barracuda in a studio with Hawk during the lock down. She’s actually getting a lot of love from older groupies as well as a new fan base ❤️

I love it when Musicians just get together and jam. You know we've all listened to each other's music through life. Music is where the heart is. The older generations mapped the roads with music to show the way and teach the younger generations and they took over with open arms to teach the new generations. I am only one person, but I have a treasure trove of memories from so many concerts and pubs, and different places in my head for multiple lifetimes. Crossing every genre from the 70's to present day, all I can say is Thank You for living your lives through music and sharing it with the world as you lived your lives. Bless You All and your Family and Friends.
Im not a fan of Pinks music but you got to give her props on singing a Heart classic like Barracuda quite well . Not easy to do .

@@nt3523 I looked that up. So Ann Wilson obviously gets credit for doing the best version as the creator. Gretchen Wilson version is almost an exact copy of Ann’s, so in that sense it is very good and the band with AIC and Nancy is definitely stronger. I think P!nk does a little more to make it her own though and I like that because I can always go back to the original for the best.

Pink did an amazing job. There's no way to compare the one and only Ann Wilson to any other mere mortal. It was an amazing rendition of a classic. And with the always perfect guitar skills on Nancy Wilson.
I applaud these guys for participating in this tribute ... but I have to say it. Nobody, but nobody can ever come close to Gretchen Wilson and Alice in Chain's spectacular, mind-blowing and jaw-dropping cover of this very difficult song. People are still talking about that cover .... it was absolutely perfect.

I have to agree , listen I’m a metal guy but I love women singers with big voices , I love pink and she did a great job singing this song but Anne no one sings it like her , saw her at the small belly up tavern I think it was in hermosa beach a couple times and the second time there she did some heart songs , standing 3 feet from Anne Wilson singing barracuda was my all time favorite concert moment by far !!

I have been a fan of Heart since they started and the first time I heard them on the radio. Oh my god this takes me back. I wish I was there again. They made the most fabulous music. Linda Ronstadt, Steve Nicks and so many more. My whole youth. This sound still makes me move like I was a kid. We were sure lucky. My generation in my opinion had the best music. It's still played everywhere today. There's good stuff today, but not like back then.
