I never understood the Tzaangor hate until I fielded them with my remaining points. They look pretty cool compared to the other basic daemon troops, but they're absolutely atrocious in combat. It took a single turn for all 10 axe wielding daemons to get killed with only a single casualty from the enemy.
For those getting into Orks, we're THE kitbash army. Roll up to a game with a shoe box with treads and guns glued to it and painted, and nobody has any right to tell you that's not a proper ork tank.
I was just about to say that, so I'll boost this. As the Kitbash army Orks also can be customized to be super thematic. For example, a classic is Pirate Orks! We also have the best 3d printing community (Pro tip - get Bluesky Mini's intro collection!)
"Their Artillery is a pipe organ. If that doesn't sell you on them, nothing well." As a Sisters Player, can confirm - the Exorcist is what got me into Sisters.
No way…I thought it was just me! Seeing them raise from a broken back and the monolith send marines in the air was epic. I wish pariahs were still around…
This was an impressive blitz. I love that unlike other videos I've seen you guys touch on not JUST lore for each faction, but manage to work in a little bit of the concept on the table and even on some of the meta-collector crap they're subject to. Great work guys!
Ah yes Admech “the best shooting in the imperium” might have to edit that one until GW decides to give us new kneecaps to replace the ones they shattered
@@Blazik9 He's by far my favorite, really like his jolly demeanor and thorough coverage of aos army lore. He got me into animosity and while I really like that whole living campaign idea, I was looking for a 40k equivalent as well, as that is the system I'm more invested in.
"You chose to play Sgt. Johnson" No, I choose to play Sgt. Oddball, who has a very good reason to tell his crew to knock it off with the negative waves, thank you very much.
I'm only partly disappointed the Grey Knights section didn't start with something like "Do you like Doom? We took the Doomslayer, painted him silver, and made an army out of him."
you guys pushed me over the edge into buying 40k, got the 9th ed starter due to price, and decided to start with the necron half, but this will help me pick my second army
Just got into this courtesy of my best friend. Starting with militarum and am psyked to get started. He got me elucidian starstriders and navis breachers for the holidays
YOU IN THE GUARD NOW BOY! As a fellow guard player it's nice to see another of our kind. No-one seems to play them which is weird cause they are crazy strong and capable.
Im going to sell out for the chaos undivided space marines that dont have a strict set of rules or models but are some of my personal favourites, in no particular order: Iron warriors: grumpy half robot men would rather go full robot than see a tentacle mutate and replace an arm Night Lords: we recruited an entire planet's worth of supermax prisons into the space marines. It goes as well as you would expect. Red corsairs: pirates! In space! Space marine pirates! Alpha Legion: they embody an old military joke of "if we dont know what we're doing, the enemy certainly can't anticipate our future actions"
Death guard being an army in universe made of competitive magic the father players had me rolling. Great video, I think you did HeyWoah proud with this one.
Orks are arguably the best faction for crafty folks as they in lore build from scrap and loot other armies vehicles to be their own. I have been making Killteam for other factions from orks. Currently have Gretknights, Deathwatch, and Custodes. Currently collecting parts to make Legionnaires and Death Guard.
My pitch for sisters of battle is that although their stats look poor at first, miracle dice make them always just barely good enough. Really need to squeak through that last point of damage on an enemy character? Or have just one member of your squad survive an artillery barrage to hold the objective? You'll be able to guarantee those things every time, its incredibly satisfying.
With the Grey Knights having their codex out, and having all the deep striking and teleporting in the world. We now need a quality, poorhammer lore expalanation of why they might still use transports. I suspect that a purgation squad in a Rhino is really working for the laughing god, and providing an entertainment performance, like someone going to buy grocieries in a unicycle
I just started getting into 40K a couple months ago and I wish it was easier to find this video when I started. Really well done. I’m still glad that I went with Dark Angels tho :)
I really loved your starter box video. I was wondering of you guys could do a video on what should be included in a combat patrol for each faction based on the new points.
I love y’all’s videos and y’all have become one of my favorite channels. I would love to see videos maybe on army showcases of your whole play group and maybe another video on 3d prints y’all use or where to find cool prints
If anyone IS interested in starting Emperor's Children, maybe wait a couple years. Not only are they likely to get their own codex in that time, but they'll hopefully get a range refresh. The current options for Emperor's Children models are basically one singular good Noise Marine (the one shown in the video) and a smattering of old & busted sculpts. Unless you're going to try to get them cheap on the secondary market, just wait for the refresh. (Or grab some 3rd party bits from companies like Spellcrow, Kromlech, or Puppetswar). Speaking of 3rd party, if you want to start Imperial Guard, and you don't care about competing in GW tournaments or stores, I highly recommend filling your infantry out with 3rd party plastics. Loads of companies sell 28mm army dudes. (My perennial suggestion is Wargames Atlantic, who produce kits specifically for Guard. Whether that's sculpts for defunct regiments, or the fact all the kits come with special weapons.). You will be spending WAY less money this way. I do not recommend trying to make an infantry-heavy Guard army using GW models.
Tyranids my beloved! A good way I like to describe them is "more than just beasts", adapting not just biologically but also tactically. Constantly underestimated by all their opponents (except maybe the Eldar) the Tyranids brought everything. From the teeth, claws, swarm and monstrous to the guerilla, mines, EMPs and artillery, they WILL prove to you how little you are in the face of the eldritch Hive Mind.
Very cool. A friend of mine and I were thinking of getting into warhammer. Last time I bought some in the 90s I remember many miniatures being metal and my paint skills were horrible. With my dad retired maybe I can give him bottles of whiskey and convince him to do the air brushing parts.
Seriously chaps, if this doesn't quickly become your most watched video I'll be surprised. Concise and gives an actual players spin to it, not just rules lawyers and hypothesis.
My first Army was drukhari ... my current army is Drukhari!!!! I LOVE DRUKHARI !! I have only been playing since 8th and it's always the same in the beginning. This army is OP that army is OP. Let's let the game play out a bit before condemning the whole addition.
Ork belief being manifested by their powers is actually something that is only suggested in the in universe lore, and only a couple of times. If looking at the lore that GW provides directly, they only talk about the Orks having innate knowledge about how to engineer things.
I know you were trying to sell us on World Eaters, but you didn't have to tear your co-host to shreds and yell "Blood for the blood God" midway through the podcast.
Great video. I'm a noob to Warhammer and was having a tough time deciding what army I want to run. My local game shop is tiny, and only really had Tau, Ultra Marines, Death Guard (Which I was contemplating), Necrons, and Orks. My friends were already running Orks and Necrons, and I wanted something different, but nothing looked interesting...until I rummaged around and found a starter pack of Ad Mech. Their design sold me, and their lore sold me further. Now I just to finish assembling and painting the damn things.
I’m a little sad I didn’t hear any mention of “war criminals” next to space wolves. Otherwise spot on. I’m absolutely here for the Egyptian space wizards and my only wish is for a few more magic things good at going after vehicles now that we don’t just deal mortals with psychic
4:59 "In a galaxy of superhumans, monsters, aliens, and dark forces of foul gods, you choose to play Sergeant Johnson." OMG. I'm friggin dead. love the fact that even though the episode is a speedrun Brad still finds time to discourage buying tzaangors at msrp
He found time to discourage to buy tzaangors at all, just “steal” them.
Suprised he didn't mention that rhino's are free.
It would be irresponsible if he didn’t

That bit about noise marines hit right in the feels, I just want to have an army of metalheads...
For once without actually needing real "metal" heads too =(
We will by the end of the year or the edition, patience…
Don't you dare buy that Rhino at MSRP.
You can, just use Orks lmao
There's a mystery codex coming out this summer and I'm huffing enough copium to believe it's gonna be Emperor's Children

For me it was just the nuns with guns
@@thierryfaquet7405For me it was the lore during the age of apostasy and the badass that is Alecia Dominica
"Battle nuns in power armor" is what got me interested, the rocket organ is what sealed the deal.
The death guard being all magic players killed me, I play magic as well as 40k, and that's actually an army I wanted to start
As a magic player that started last month with wh40k aaand death guard i approve
Wait holy shit my dad plays magic and his first army was death guard
Mine will be too, looking up videos all day long already (also an mtg player))

Your speedrun is good, but I noticed you didn't do the GW double dread skip that allows you skip emperors children
Ah yes Admech “the best shooting in the imperium” might have to edit that one until GW decides to give us new kneecaps to replace the ones they shattered
This. I can at least have a good time painting them until GW decides to/accidentally makes them playable again but it was still rather rude of them

I think one caveat for genestealers being expensive is that their combat Patrol is the most amazing in the entire game
