I want to buy a Maserati ghibli between 2014-2016... What should I pay attention to when buying? Is there much difference between diesel and gasoline? I want gasoline but I'm also considering diesel... What do you think about this? Thank you

    • @AndThenTheresThat
      @AndThenTheresThat 8 місяців тому

@@serkantektas5135 Make sure it doesn’t have a lot of miles on it. 2014-2016 was a long time ago and plenty of time to abuse a vehicle. Although a vehicle can be abused with barely any miles on it as well. If it had more than three owners I would avoid it, there’s a reason no one was holding onto it for long. People keep cars they enjoy for a while. Another thing, if you can get a hold of the service records see if anything major has broken and been fixed. This may sound odd, but hear me out, if nothing big has broken on it yet and it has over 100k miles, don’t buy it. Because it’s coming. That major repair. For the years you want, try to stay under maybe 75k miles. That way if it was taken care of well you’ll get a nice amount of driving out of it before you have to spend any big bucks on fixing anything.
As far as diesel vs gas, I didn’t even know they had a diesel engine for the Ghibli. I had an A8L TDi and it was one of the best engines I’ve ever owned, so if a diesel is offered then you should get it.

First of all if you’re doing well financially you’d NEVER finance this car you’d lease it. Second, expensive cars come with expensive parts. Hence, why maintenance and repairs are so expensive. Third make sure the car has been properly maintained throughout its life. If you take care of your car then it’ll take care of you. It’s not a “Maserati isn’t reliable” issue, it’s a maintain your car issue.

I strongly disagree. Just because a brand says their "luxury" does not make them luxury. Maintenance on a maserati is more than maintenance on my rolls. Maseratis are too needy. Maseratis are not expensive though so I disagree with your "expensive cars come with expensive parts" comment. You can buy a 3 year old Maserati Ghibli with 25K miles for 28K and lower in my area. That is not "expensive" imo.

Unlike a lot of people that are going to flood the comments section to repeat what Doug Demuro said years ago, i actually own one of these, and I enjoy it. My only advice is to get a warranty in the event something does fail. Otherwise, drive it and enjoy it. The Ghibli gets a bad rap, but honestly, they are good cars when taken care of and maintained properly.
Alot of people buy these cars used because they're cheap and they want that trident badge but then they can't afford to maintain them. Lack of maintenance leads to the car becoming a headache and constantly breaking. Then they blame it on the car and maserati. They are not cheap to run but nowhere near as bad as the media likes to portray them.
I have a 15 SQ4 with over 63k miles, and it's running strong. I do have the Maserati extended warranty in my back pocket in the event that something does wrong. Good luck with yours.

You can purchase it from any Maserati dealer. They do inspect the car and do a compression test to make the car is healthy before selling it to you.

Bro if you have all season tires on an all wheel drive car that's obviously not what you want to slide around turns; of course the friction is going to catch. Or if you drive like a grandma n then try to hit a corner right without having tires used to hitting those angles. This car is amazing. Like dogs its the owner that needs training.

Just now saw this video. The jumping on sharp turns has NOTHING to do with the AWD system. The RWD Ghibli does it also as long as it has Pirelli tires. Its the tires, not the car. Put All Season tires on it, It does not do it. I always run All Seasons. Stereo, I agree, but remember the exhaust note and the thrill of the drive is the best part of the entertainment system. I rarely use the stereo system on my car. Rather listen to the car itself. :)

I have been watching Ghibli videos all day because I have been trying to get an idea of the perception before I sell mine. I have a 2014 SQ4 which I have had since 2016 and have a little under 90k miles on the clock, and had barely over 20k at the time I bought it. Maybe I got lucky, really really lucky, because I have had had NONE of the issues I see nearly every video mentioning and complaining about. I’m not even gonna sell mine I don’t think. I feel like I got a unicorn.
I saw someone say they can’t get their Bluetooth to connect to their phone, mine connects every time, multiple devices at once. The only two things I agree with, one of which is not a complaint, and that is the buttons are cheap but I don’t really mind, at the time I got it I had never watched any videos on it so I didn’t have any expectations either way. Second, which is a complaint, is it doesn’t immediately shoot forward when I mash the gas. It feels like it builds for a second and then takes off, unless I’m up to speed already like on the freeway or something. I can’t speak on the cost of parts because I haven’t had any breakdowns yet. I know it’s coming, but so far so good.
Oil changes are expensive compared to other luxury cars like Bimmers and Benzes, but I would suggest not even considering buying an exotic car, no matter how inexpensive it is, if the cost of maintenance scares you. You don’t need to have it done at a certified dealer tho, it’s not that complicated. You can spend maybe 150 on the oil and filter and then have a garage that is familiar with high end cars do the labor for around 300. Instead of 500 to 600 at the dealership. And you don’t have to get oil changes every few thousand miles. I have let mine go like 8 or 9 thousand miles between oil changes.

    • @Invaderz-ph6fs
      @Invaderz-ph6fs 5 місяців тому +2

Yeah, honestly the only reason you need to get oil changes often is if you don't tol off your oil often. People buy a European car,and never take care of it and expect it to perform like a Japanese car, it's ridiculous. There's nothing wrong with your European car, it's just not a Japanese car, you actually have to take care of it. They aren't made to be bulletproof. And honestly why would you not do your own oil change lol, it's really not that bad.

Polift

I'm really surprised this could be someone's dream car. It always seemed to me Maserati is what a poor man buys to look rich because they can be gotten for so cheap.

My Friend, You Are Awesome! Like You, I have Always loved the “Brand” with its rich and storied 3:59 History…From what You are saying and what I have read online, FIAT (I believe the Parent Company) is Drifting into its “Acronym”-“Fix It Again Tony.” Thank You for Helping Us “Car Lovers” Avoid so much “Heartach!” 🙏🙏🙏

Technically it’s Chrysler crap they put in these, not Dodge.
Personally, I would never own a Maserati…they are simply too unreliable and too expensive to maintain. That’s why the majority of these cars are leased. All but one model of Maserati’s lose between 50-67% of their value within the first 5 years. That is why you can pick one of these up so cheap.
I’ve seen too many people wanting to look cool, rather then drive a reliable car with low maintenance costs.
I’ll stick with my Lexus, but good luck to you and your wallet.

Even the 2023 designs are bs
    1. That piece on top of clock is ugly.
    2. Sunroof still small same old 2014 style or older
    3. Same old door handles that stick out too long on exterior.
    4. Same old fat GMC keys
    5. Cup holders still can’t hold regular size cups.
    6. MPG same
    7. Horsepower same
    8. Dashboard design same
    9. Exhaust sound still weak
    10. Audio system still weak
    11. Shifting gear knob still too large
    12. Mirrors still don’t fold
    13. Technology Innovation still weak
    14. Overall no major redesign.
If mazerati wants more sales and respect then they should earn it by building a better quality brand. Redesign it.
