You won't believe it, but I sometimes get my ideas when I say my daily prayers after reading the Bible. I ask God to guide me on my painting. I love it!
I am sure that there are many who have similar experiences. I think it is when you are in a phase where you have opened your mind, you are more sensitive to inspiration of various kinds. We work differently as you can see in my video, and I don't mix God into it. I wish you good luck in your process.
@@sunshinemagicalrainbowunic4004Hmmm...are you sure about that? If one is ever in a plane hurtling towards the ground, there's a huge chance of one changing their mind. As the Ghost Busters always say, 'Who you gonna call?' I can assure you, it would not be the Ghostbusters. 😂 In life and death moments, people do resort to faith. For it is simply the belief in a positive force unseen... the same thing you do anytime you step on board an airplane - with zero proof it will stay in the sky. 😇
So much energy throughout this painting…like the energy the bird required to make the nest! A compliment to the effort and beauty of the structure. Your color sense has been honed with your years of experience and you achieve such color harmony, lively contrast and some edgy tension too. Gorgeous work!
Thank you very much for this lovely comment. I'm glad you found value in my video. It's comments like this that make making videos worthwhile for me. So thanks for that.
I absolutely loved watching you create this beautiful painting and listening to your thought process. Fantastic use of colour and so unique. Thank you for sharing this masterful painting and tutorial. Really inspiring.
I will be practicing this style of painting. I’m so attracted to it and I’m itching to get my canvas out. Thank you so much for your clear and concise explanation of what you are doing. You are one of my greatest inspirations on UA-cam. Greeting from California. Love, Diesel and Tharwa 🙏🏻🖌️🎨🙋🏻♀️🐶🌅
I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible painting instruction you provide on your UA-cam channel. Your talent and passion shine through in each video, making the learning experience not only educational but also truly enjoyable. The way you break down complex techniques into manageable steps has significantly improved my own artistic skills. Your clear explanations and engaging demonstrations make it easy for beginners like me Your Old Friend JAM
What a fantastic painting. I'll come back and watch this carefully for your instruction. But for now I just fast forwarded to see your finished painting. It's absolutely beautiful. Bravo.
It's definitely not boring. I like how you distill(?) the colors that would have been blended for a beautiful exciting painting that still portrays peace and tranquility. 👏
Your instruction and advice is now a tool in my toolbox I will be able to get much use from. I will use your planning and decision-making advice at each step of making my next painting. Your demonstration was so inviting to watch that it almost distracted me from this more valuable tool : )
Hello and thank you very much for your sweet comment. It means a lot to me that I understand that my videos have value for many of the people who watch them. Thanks!
Hi and thank you for your kind comment. Best way to learn is to paint, so go on even if it is no good ... go on painting. Every painting will make you better.
I have been drawing and painting bird nests for two months and enjoying the process very much. I learned so I much watching your video! I think I can take a chance now on expanding my color choices, and the golden ratio information helped immensely. Thank you very much!
Hi. Thank you for your kind comment. I would be happy to see some of your drawings. If you have time and desire, send me some of your your nests at henrik@skora.dk.
First time your channel came into my feed and I am glad, I love your painting so much and your inspirational talk! I will definitely follow your videos!💕🇨🇦
Thank you so much for another insightful and interesting video! It is such a joy watching. And I LOVE the way you use the color red, especially in previous paintings, giving your completed works such dynamic. Thank you for sharing and teaching!
My dear master: I'm agree about your opinions and advices, a bird nest is a masterpiece of the nature make it by a little bird by instinct . and is a motive to learn of it, and try to plasme on the canvas with paint, harmony, chromatic composition, passion. and faith. Thank you for share your advices and expierences. god bless you. my best wishes from Méxicon city
Thank you for walking us through the process! I've been living on abstract markings - you've shown me how to tie those into a coherent composition! Thank you! ✨️
Tenacity is a key element. I've been working hard at it for twenty years, and several times i've been tempted to throw everything in the bush and walk away. But then I think to myself 'where else shall i go?'. Tenacity. Keep going, in spite of the devilish inner critic. Yes, we all need to be encourged to Never give up.
The secret sauce to success as a painter is to never stop painting. Maybe it's hard right now, but nothing lasts and it won't stay hard forever. At least it can be difficult in a new way ... Ha,ha ... keep up the good work. Thanks for your comment.
I’ve been looking forward to seeing more videos of you painting. I love your work. Your paintings are delicious and mesmerising, will you be doing new recording in the near future?
Hello Yes, no rules...or as few as possible. I am probably dependent on several of them, perhaps without even being aware of it. Thanks for the kind comment.
Fun videos and very useful and helpful. Although your paintings are better in the beginning before you over-control the colors and make them into rigid forms.
Ha, ha ... Sometimes I struggle a bit with too much control. I'm very happy with this painting though...I think control is in my genes. I have to be in control of what happens ... but I would like to be a little looser, and I wonder if that will come as time goes on?
I found your discussion regarding your painting process to be helpful and interesting. I think the rule you used served you very well in this painting. I am captivated by the beauty of the nest.
Hello. Nice comment. I always try to think that the principles behind composition only exist because they are to help us paint. They shouldn't make it more difficult, and that's why I take a very loose approach to the principles. But they are there.
Hello Marie Louise, I'm so impressed to see your wall easel on which you stick several (I think I saw 8) pieces of paper at once. Great idea! Can you tell us more about it?❤❤❤
I wish i could watch a thousand vídeos of yours. You explain so well and paint so beautifully. I am an abstract painter and your are inspirational to me. I was very inspired by Van Gogh and the Impressionists, but my painting slowly changed towards the abstract expression. 58 is no age and you are going to paint a lot of paintings. Great videos. Best ones out there. By the way, in English the word for a distinctive feature or dominant idea in an artistic composition is motif. Accent on the last syllable. Not motive, which is something else in English. It would be quite a stretch to use the word motive for motif. Good of you to use the beauty ratio. I believe it's technically 1.618.

Hello Henrik, what is the pencil you use that can wash out with water?
Hi
I use the Derwent Watersoluble pencils. They have a smal brush ikon printet on them. You can use them as a normal pencil, and if you need to remove it, you can wash it off with water.
Thanks
Another great video! The painting is wonderful in all aspects. Thank you again for sharing your process as I find it very inspirational, which I needed. Love your video, very inspiring once again. A wonderful painting, thank you for sharing your process.

Came out really well. Glad you brought in those black lines and took away some of the white lines. Watching from China while painting myself.

Thank you so much for this video. I like your approach. And I loved when you said … and don’t make stupid mistakes.
Hi Thank you. Yes ... avoid the stupid mistakes ... on the other hand the more you make them ... the wiser you become.
Isn't that what they say? But try to avoid them anyway.
How can Van gogh paint the most boring things in such a beautiful way? and all of the well-known artists paint the same subjects with the same way
Van Gogh was a genius, and you shouldn't compare yourself to him if you don't want to risk becoming very depressed.
Ha, ha ... It is really not what you paint but how.
@skora-theoldguy I'm not comparing myself to anyone that's you projecting hear, and I'm definitely not making videos of how to be a proper painter as if I'm entitled to
To be honest, JG painted boring things badly. Just look at the perspective of any chair in his interiors!
So Cool...Excellent Theme, Palette Selection, Right On! And Thank You for Sharing! You are a Master Painter!
Many thanks for this nice comment ... I don't know about the master painter part ... but I blush. 😉
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in this beautiful way.
Hi. You are so welcome. Thank you.
Fantastic!!
Thank you.
This was a wonderful video I love all the information and seeing the artist painting. I have done one bird nest painting now I think it is time to do another one. Thank you very much.
Thank you ,,, yes it is always time for another nest.😜
Sir, thanks for your contents. I really like your own style. And I've just learnt that I've to paint what I feel not what I see
Yes, that is how it is, and that is the delightfully difficult thing about painting the abstract painting. Good luck.
I'm impressed with your knowledge of the English language. Denmark does a good job teaching a second language.
Hi. Thank you. I don't know about that. We hear a lot of English in TV and films are not dubbed. Most Danish people speak and understand some English.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge so generously ❤
You are very welcome. Thank you!
So beautiful! I wish I could buy this painting! I collect bird nests that I find on the ground in my walks sometimes. They are like
little treasures!
Yes, such a small nest is very well made and the craftsmanship in making such a one is very impressive. I understand why you collect them.
I only saved the one I show in the video because it kind of addressed itself to me.
I just came across your channel and already learned a lot. I love your art! Will be watching👍🏼
Thank you for your interest.
Superb instruction!
Thank you!
I absolutely love this painting. Love your style. I need to paint more like you.
Thank you again. Paint not as me, but as yourself.

Good luck.
