The song is about living with migraines. Pain so bad pushing on your eyes gives you relief. As a cluster headache sufferer, this song is ridiculously relatable.
I genuinely don't understand how people don't comprehend the "push my fingers into my eyes" line. Like, have y'all never even been stressed? It's always "ew! It's scary and gross"
I feel like Slipknot isn't exactly what people think. Yes it's metal, there's screaming, there's some creepy imagery and shit going on.... but the talent and artistry is amazing. Corey Taylor, the vocalist, has a beautiful voice when he sings. I recommend you listen to more!
He did a really good cover of Dio's Rainbow in the Dark that I think is a pretty solid show of his clean vocals. If someone can cover something Dio sang and it sounds good, then they've got vocal chops.
Corey Taylor is crazy. He's got a solo career and leads both Slipknot(harsh vocals, crazy fills, and masks) and Stone Sour(close to only clean vocals, no masks). He's collaborated with a few rappers, too(Tech N9ne, Kid Bookie, etc). And the Slipknot fanbase are called Maggots. Y'all should definitely experience more of Corey Taylor, but you may need to keep the lyrics on-hand. lmao
This song is about the lead singer's (Corey Taylor) problem with migraine headaches. Someone might have already mentioned this. But yeah I don't know if you've ever had a really bad headache but pushing on your eyeballs slightly soothes the pain.
It blows my mind that so many reactors don't automatically get this. When you're head/eyes hurt, you push on your eyes for temporary relief. Or to see a trippy lightshow behind your eyelids.
Slipknot is kind of THE metal band almost every metal fan has embraced, and because they cross genres and touch on those primal emotions that we can all relate to, they are VERY prolific. 100% I think you should check out a few more of their tracks. They’ve also been around for years, and they have a multitude of different sounds. I’m positive you’ll find some that suit your tastes. Their early career is more harsh and thrashy, while the new is more melodic but refined. The one thing that Slipknot is, is pure. The music hits different when it’s pure, and they have the skills to keep their spot at the top of the NuMetal podium. Enjoy!
RIP Paul Grey and Joey Jordison. I first got into Slipknot around 99-2000 with their first Roadrunner Record. And the Iowa record they dropped a few years later. Always been a fan of their unique blending of genres and crazy live performances. And Corey Taylor's vocals on top of it all, just took it to another level.
If you've ever experienced a migraine, a lot of times kinda squeezing the bridge of your nose and pushing in on your eyes a bit helps to relieve the pain. I believe Corey has stated that he wrote the chorus when he was dealing with a migraine.
I was doing that last night, pushing my fingers into my eyes. It's a weird sensation it hurts but it makes it better. Love slipknot, im always surprised how people get freak out about the masks, I think they are cool. You should react to Pantera too 🤘🤘
Surprised a lot of people dont know about the eyes thing maybe I just get a lot of migraines lol. I used to do it all the time then heard this song and could relate quite well
13:27 This dude influenced on all musical world since the beginning of Slipknot so much, he was the reason why so many people all around the world started drumming and he was very talented and simultaneously humble. He died because of transverse myelitis at 46 y.o.
This has probably been said a few times, but y’all really should check out Corey Taylor - Snuff (acoustic version). He’s the lead singer of Slipknot. It is amazing, and will throw you for a complete loop lol
If I recall correctly, the "I push my fingers into my eyes" is a reference to a technique to help with migraines or cluster headaches. "It's the only way, to slowly stop the ache" is the next line. I could be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere.
Slipknot!!! As a metalhead that has been following you a while I really enjoyed this reaction. You guys hit the nail on the head with respect to how the music and lyrics of metal help people cope. Very similar to rap. If you want another Slipknot song I would recommend Spit it Out. Do a lyric video because Corey raps through much of the song.
Slipknot - Spit it out LIVE 2009 is probably one of the, if not the greatest, live performances you could ever see.. It was in the U.K. and you will never see crowd control in such a way that Corey has
London 2002 is amazing. That 2009 video is so low energy and boring. It drags on 4 minutes longer than it needs to. Never understood the enthusiasm for that performance.
Clown, is a classicly trained percussionist, if I have it correct. Yes he does use metal kegs and oil drums with a baseball bat beater authentically. So any of him beating a metal keg or oil drum in a video he does for real during performances. This has generally done his wrists and hands in early, but he still gives 100%. The band are a 9 piece unit with a storied and dramatic history, consisting of :- Lead man, Corey Taylor Two guitarists (lead and rhythm) Bass guitarist Drummer 2 Percussionists including Shaun "Clown" Crahan. Clown is also a backing vocalist. A keyboard/synth player A DJ/record scratcher
Our fandom name is Maggots. Also, thank you so much for being willing to check them out despite having a prejudice view of them initially. That shows great maturity on your part. Rock and Metal have a very undeserved amount of prejudice against them as being evil, violent, satanic or just straight up noise when that couldn't be further from the truth. It's the same as someone saying all rap is about h*es, drugs and gang stuff over the same recycled beat when we all know that's not true either. Rock can be energetic (Metal/Thrash), have hip hop elements (Nu Metal), slow (bluesy, power ballads, ect) and so much more. It's so much more than just noise and aggression. It can be beautiful, heartbreaking and emotive. It's simply a different way of expression. I hope you continue a deeper dive into this genre. I see you have a good head on your shoulders and can come to truly appreciate the skill needed in this genre (vocals, lyrics, instruments, composition, ect.). Some songs I recommend to check out: Alter Bridge - Blackbird, Metallica - Fade to Black, Alice In Chains - Would, Slipknot - Snuff, and Audioslave - Like A Stone should be a good starting point.
Another band I feel like you guys might sink into is 'Tool' They're one of the greats when it comes to both composing music and writing deep lyrics. They are their own genre. Everyone needs a bit of Tool in their lives... If ya know what I'm saying Lateralus and 46&2 are epic, amongst many.
Super excited to see this one! Slipknot actually led me to Tech N9ne if you can believe that. Tech's song Wither featuring Corey Taylor is on my "F off" playlist. 🤘
a must watch for slipknot would be : spit it out - live from download festival 2009 or as a complete opposit a song of the other band the lead singer of slipknot is in ''stone sour - through glass ''(i recommend the accoustic version)
⛔️ Long comment ⛔️ (I have Asperger’s) Great reaction and a great 1st Slipknot choice. I’m a 41 yr old born again Christian metal head who started really getting into metal in the mid ‘90s so I feel like I can be a good resident metal ambassador to this channel, as I also love hiphop. Metal and hiphop are the most masculine-testosterone-driven genres of music, lots of machismo. Both genres started in the ‘70s and the band most credited for the origination of metal, Black Sabbath, got their inspiration from a horror movie with the same name. So that’s why you’ll find a lot of creepy, scary stuff in metal, but even that is just a fraction of what you’ll find. The genre has evolved and branched out over the decades. Metal from a sonic standpoint is really all about the guitar riffs and the drum beats. The more adrenaline pumping riffs and beats the better the metal in my opinion. Some bands are more repetitive than others and utilize hooks and other bands are more into the technical side of musicianship, playing hard and/or fast pieces of music with lots of changes, so beware of that. Not all metal sounds the same, although it might at first lol. I don’t think Slipknot are devil worshippers. Is there a lot of devil worship in metal? Sure, but mostly with underground bands I’d say, but it’s hard to say who’s doing it for real and who’s just doing it for the shock-effect. So, you’ll find a lot of horror elements in metal, not every band creates from that vibe however. A lot of metal bands are just all about adrenaline pumping energy and you’ll find a wide variety of topics in metal lyrics. It’s a very diverse genre, like hiphop, with different vibes for different moods or settings. But overall, metal is a dark, scary, and energetic style of music, but you’ll also find beautiful and uplifting metal. Besides horror movies, metal was originally inspired by blues, rock, classical, jazz, and then punk was introduced to metal and this where you get thrash and the more pissed-off drill sergeant style vocals. Pretty much every genre has been mixed with metal. Just as the krump style of dance manifested in hiphop, metal has its own high-powered energetic, violent style of dance. It’s a sight to see a whole pit of people doing karate ninja moves all to the beat next to each other, it looks like a gang fight. You see this more at metalcore, hardcore, and deathcore shows because these sub-genres have a lot of breakdowns (which originated with funk & hiphop) than at regular metal or thrash shows, where at the latter you’ll find a more pushing and shoving style of dance. I’m too old and out of shape for that now but I’ve gotten my dance moves on in several pits growing up. I’m more of a metalcore guy. Slipknot is considered nu-metal which is a rap-inspired sub-genre of metal, but they incorporate thrash metal, death metal, and dabble in metalcore. Pantera is more groove-metal but both bands are legendary in the metal community. As for more Slipknot songs to checkout, Psychosocial is another good one for newbies. My personal favorite album of theirs is their self-titled debut album from ‘99. The 1st track on that is just a 30 second creepy/eerie clown sounding piece of music, but tracks 2 thru 6 are all great in my opinion. Tracks 4, 5, & 6, “Wait and Bleed”, “Surfacing” and “Spit It Out” are good for newbies. Surfacing and Spit It Out have turntable scratching. As the releases become more recent they’ve evolved to incorporate more melody and singing. For a Pantera introduction, I’d say “Cemetery Gates” or “Cowboys From Hell” would be good songs to start with. This comment is more than long enough so I’ll stop here.
So funny. This is how I reacted around 2005 when my bf introduced me to them. He was in this video, likes to pause at the right times to show us. It takes time to adjust to the sound but once you do, you are in for a treat. Corey Taylor is an amazing writer (he's got mad barz). Been to 3 concerts (as a mixed girl). The fans are so friendly...don't let the stereotypes fool ya!
This is why I am so happy to have so many influence when I was a kids. My dad was a metalhead, my mom loved hiphop/'rap and country... I have heard almost everything :D So I love seeing people opening up their minds and listening to things outside of their comfort zones. Slipknot has been on my list of favs since about 1999, and I've seen them live quite a few times. I would recommend going to a show if you ever get the chance. Make sure to stay hydrated though. lol
They actually put a lot of thought and science behind the masks. Not only the imagery for each member but yes, for vocalization. That's why you see more vocal members providing backup vocals have slits on the mouth. But also Coreys mask has changed drastically from being very restrictive to the jaw to being more free and engineered.
It'd be interesting to see you react to their song Virus of Life. Or Skin Ticket. Or Prosthetics. Pretty brutal songs, I think it'd be fun 😂 Also, the "Slipknot Army" does have a name, we're called Maggots 🥰
Fun fact. The house in this video was a fan's house in Des Moines, Iowa. They were either demolishing it or going to renovate it. So they reached out to the band to see if they wanted to shoot a video there. So they did. All those people in the video were fans.
I can’t wait to see more!! I keep coming back to these including Korn. Just waiting for more 90s 2000s music reactions from these groups in your catalog!!!🤘🤘🤘
11:41 those masks, especially at this point are all designed with all you mentioned in mind. The lead singer Corey Taylor is probably the most intricate because it works with his mouth opening and closing for vocals.
Speaking of the masks, Corey Taylor scratched his eye because one of his original masks had dreads and it would hit his eye when he was headbanging. If you want to hear how good Corey is at singing, check out his live acoustic version of "Snuff." And he can metal rap amazingly well in "Spit it Out."
You called this a journey and that really is a good word to describe what you can go on with these guys. The amount of crazy spitter flows you'll find will surprise you. I recommend I Am Hated off their second album. Not much screaming but the lyrics got that crazy flow. Enjoy you Slipknot adventure.
The name given to slipknot fans is "maggots". Tech N9ne actually references this in the song Like I Ain't. Where he says "Tryna ride all the way up to my homie in Slipknot (maggot)".
My only gripe with the music video version is that they cut the song in parts (not massively) but on the album version there is a badass build up into a final outro with that main punching riff which is just *chef's kiss* .
Corey Taylor has migraines - I have migraines - I knew that whoever wrote the lyrics had them too because that's what I would do sometimes to alleviate the pain - "made of all the things I have to take" is a great line.
This was the first song I was really acquainted with them and one of the few that I have actually liked. Before I Forget and Vermilion Pt. 2 also have some singing in them and enjoy those too. The lead singer is also the lead singer of Stone Sour and Bother and Through Glass are good singing songs from them.
I've seen Slipknot live multiple times and yes, Corey Taylor can project his voice extremely well out of a mask. It doesn't seem to hinder him vocally in any way whatsoever
Spit It Out, live at Download 2009 is a very popular one with reactors, shows Corey's crowd control, and also how much Joey their former drummer (RIP) really brought to a live show.
Snuff (Acoustic) by lead singer of SLIPKNOT Corey Taylor. It will take You to completely different angle of his range. And after this... I'm not kidding... Corey Taylor Spongebob Squarepants Live in London. It will give You a different perspective on the metalhead community - we all just sweet teddy bears inside.
If you want to hear Corey rap listen to "Spit it out" and "Nero Forte". The live version of "Spit it out" from 2009 is one of the greatest life profomances you will ever see. Keep on reacting!!!
Slipknot fans are called Maggots ... They are really good , yes sometimes rawr, but if you listen to more you will truly find out why They have such a huge following worldwide.... And please do more reactions to slipknot , Pantera , mushroom head ... Love your reactions yo!!!
Duality was on the third album that came out in 2004, it was uploaded to YT later. Also the members of slipknot have done many interviews on how disgusting the masks can get, especially in their early career they were notorious for not washing them between shows and the smell was disgusting. I saw them at ozzfest 99 when they came through Vancouver and they were insane, 9 guys all on the B stage just going crazy.... they were terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. ETA slipknot fans are called Maggots... Clown came up with the name I believe when he looked out at the writhing mass of the fans and thought they looked like maggots on a carcass. As for another slipknot song Id say almost anything off their 1st album. But maybe sic, surfacing or wait and bleed specifically
Saw slipknot at Big Day out 2005 in Melbourne it was insane. But I must say Mudvayne in 2001 was more insane, they were put in a small tin shed which held maybe 1000 people, people were crawling up the walls lol
Just for clarification, the fingers in the eyes thing is just lyrical imagery for when you like put pressure on your eyes or bridge of your nose when you have a headache. Not like literally shoving your fingers violently into your eyeballs.
15:25 we're called maggots, it sounds mean but shaun crahn, the clown, came up with it because he once noticed that maggots in a dead animal looked just like a crown moving around
When you're stressed out and exhausted, at your whits end, and you pinch the bridge of your nose and you rub your eyes with your index finger and thumb (Push your fingers into your eyes). This song is about stress, dealing with stressful situations. "Its the only thing that slowly stops the ache, and it's made of all the things i have to take, jesus, it never ends, it works its way inside, if the pain goes on, I'm not gonna make it" It's all about how he's not coping with the stres, and it's making him angry, frustrated, irritable, but also tired, indifferent and hopeless. It's a duality, to care so much and yet so little, to just want things to be over. Slipknot's music conveys emotion more than anything else. Anger, sadness, stress, rebellion, hate, self loathing, terror, but also confidence, hope, love and elation. There are so many songs in their catalogue, and each conveys the emotion perfectly.
Cory Taylor and Slipknot helped me stay alive, helped me believe that things are going to be better..every fight is worth the effort if it keeps your feet moving
Slipknot is pure energy. There is no other way to describe it. Ive been with them since 98. Seen them a dozen tines from no name venues to arenas. From someone that grew up with buddy guy and tom petty slipknot hits every single point in your senses
Every member of Slipknot changed their masks every album cycle but both guitarist Mick Thomson and Jim Root masks don’t changed usually it’s minor changes. Their are nine members of slipknot starting with number 0-8 and their they show their numbers on their jumpsuits. Lead Vocalist Cory Taylor #8, Lead/Rhythm guitarist Jim Root #4, Lead/Rhythm guitarist Mick Thomson #7, Bassist Paul Gray #2 1972-2010, Paul Gray passed away on May 24th of 2010 he was only 38 years old. Paul Gray plays bass guitar on the first four slipknot albums. Drums Joey Jordison #1 1975-2021 Joey Passed away on July 26th 2021 passed away in his sleep is was only 46 years old, Joey plays drums on the first four slipknot albums, Joey left slipknot in 2013 due to a medical issue suffering from acute transverse myelitis. Its symptoms started in 2010 while touring with his other band Murderdolls, but the disease was diagnosed long after. This progressed to the loss use of his left leg. The neurological disease had temporarily cost him the use of his legs and caused him to be unable to play the drums before rehabilitation. He recovered with the aid of medical help and physical therapy. Percussionist and backing vocalist Chris Fehn #3 Chris left the band in 2019, Chris’s mask has a long nose like Pinocchio. Percussionist/backing vocalist Shawn Crahan #6 A.K.A. Clown because he wears a clown mask. Sampler/synthesizer and keyboardist Craig Jones #5 Craig mask is black with long needles pointing out if it. Craig never talks, he doesn’t talk to media/interviews, he even doesn’t talk to other members of the band. Vocalist Cory Taylor said in a interview the reason why Craig doesn’t talk is because that who he is, a guy that can speak but doesn’t, Cory Taylor also said this when Craig does talk it’s scary because he will be right behind you and you don’t even know he’s their and Cory said when Craig speaks you listen and the band gave him the nickname the quiet one. DJ/Turntables Sid Wilson #0. New Slipknot Members are new bassist Alessandro Venturella nickname V-man he replaced Paul Grey on bass Alessandro joined the band in 2014 on Slipknot 5th album .5 the Gray chapter. New drummer Jay Weinberg replaced drummer Joey Jordison, Jay Weinberg Joined the band in 2014 also on the band 5th album. Michael Plaff nickname Tortilla man because his mask looks like a melted/burn tortilla he replaced Chris Fehn on Percussion and backing vocals, Michael Plaff joined the band in 2019 on the band’s 6th album we are not your kind. The three new Slipknot members don’t have numbers.
I've been a maggot since the early years. I couldn't help but laugh when you said you couldn't understand what he was saying because I'm over here watching mouthing all the lyrics as he goes. It always fun to see when people watch something outside their normal genre for the first time. Im 45 now and I listen to all types of music now. It took me most of my life to do so. And if you have never had a migriane, im happy for you. I feel Corey's pain there. They are not fun!
A lot of people interrupt metal for "devil music" but its very emotional for the most part. From what I know about the masks were originally meant to give the members anonymity and put focus on the music instead. Each member designs there mask and they have meanings behind each one. There are videos on YT explaining them. They change the mask every album and sometimes per tour. Slipknot has a lot of songs that are great, some of my favorites are Devil in I, Psychosocial, Wait and Bleed, Snuff, Before I Forget, Nero Forte, and Duality. There are more, but those are my most listened to songs from them.
The bars that Corey speaks are straight fire! Always check out the lyrics when listening to slipknot! Great reaction and song! Let’s take a trip down the slipknot hole! 👹
I really wish you’d watch an interview about slipknot. They’re absolutely amazing humans. No matter the image they portray. Corey doesn’t drink has kids. Has nephews that have there own band that’s amazing taking on the same type of music. It’s beautiful.
I grew up on the DIY Hardcore Punk stuff so never tapped into Slipknot either. This is one of my favorite things about the channel. Chillin and checkin out stuff you've never seen and I've never seen before lol. It's a cool way to see stuff I missed back in the day and tap in to new stuff that I would otherwise never be exposed to that's newer.
This track actually dropped back in 2004 lol just goes to show you can never go by when something was uploaded to youtube to know how old it actually is.
Duality is actually about the migraines Corey Taylor gets . Pushing the fingers into your eyes to relieve the pain. Nothing can relieve it. You can’t seem to feel like your gonna make it. Slipknot is amazing!
The “all I’ve got is insane” is about everything people suffering in chronic pain have to deal with… my best friend is a beautiful Danish woman who has CRPS, & is in constant pain… she cried when she heard this song, she said it’s a perfect description of what she goes through…
The name for fans of slipknot is usually "maggots" A few suggestions for other bands (without checking your other content) Alexisonfire : boildfrogs (have the lyrics open) Protest the hero : yellow teeth Bullet for my Valentine: tears don't fall
I was in this video! March 2003. Crazy to think that I was a couple weeks from turning 19, and here I am all these years later pushing 40. Some fun facts: 1. Casting call for the extras was placed in the Des Moines, IA newspaper. Out of the literal thousands who came and applied, only 400 of us were called to be extras. One kid legitimately flew from England, and Corey caught wind of this. He ended up inviting the kid to stay at his house while he was in the States. 2. All the house and yard damage was real. This was filmed at a house under renovation in a West Des Moines neighborhood. The owners were gracious enough to loan the house to the band for the video, but no one anticipated the cold rainy late March weather and by the time filming was done, the yard was an absolute mud pit. Over the course of 16-17 hours, we absolutely destroyed damn near every inch of the property to the point that Slipknot ended up having to buy the house. We absolutely destroyed it. 3. The party that ensued the night before as all of us fans converged on the bus pickup site (West Valley High School) was absolutely legendary. Crazy 24 hours. Next to the birth of my kids and the day I got married, this is one of the greatest days of my life. Also had cool personal moments with each band member, including those who are no longer with us today. Now if you'll excuse me, this whole thing's got me feeling incredibly old now that I'm realizing this shit was 20 years ago...
Loved this reaction. I mostly listen to rap but I love some hard rock. Anything that goes hard and hypes me up is my go to. I love their song Wait and Bleed.
Got to let your in chaos out sometimes, silent aggression spoke for us. Saying the things your truly thinking but held back, it's a drive to keep you going, upping the tempo of your life, basically telling you to focus.
Here in my 60s, I love this song, it's on every playlist I have. Just rocks and it's interesting musically and the lyrics are over the top emo. Great for my senior dance workout, heh-heh.
They wear mask as a way to make viewers focus on the music and lyrics instead of the people making it. Corey Taylor has an amazing voice and majority of people dismiss them for their looks before they ever listen.
12:23 the crazy thing is, every show they do, they stop the crowd like this before hitting REALLY hard they get crowds of like 100k to just…chill for a second…you should do a react to their song “spit it out” live and the music video
Yo what you said about how its like hiphop with the pain inside. Man, you guys get it. I grew up with both and as far as people remove them i feel hiphop and metal are way closer then people think
The song is about living with migraines. Pain so bad pushing on your eyes gives you relief. As a cluster headache sufferer, this song is ridiculously relatable.

Corey Taylor is fkn spittin on that track!
Slipknot - Spit it out LIVE 2009 is probably one of the, if not the greatest, live performances you could ever see.. It was in the U.K. and you will never see crowd control in such a way that Corey has
100%
London 2002 is amazing. That 2009 video is so low energy and boring. It drags on 4 minutes longer than it needs to. Never understood the enthusiasm for that performance.
100%
Yeah, fuck download. DISASTERPIECES live from London 2002. I watched the dvd as a 12ish year old and couldn’t stop from there.
I hate to disagree with my metal brothers.... Domination by Pantera live in Russia... Bar none. 1 million people strong mosh pit......
Slipknot is definitely a rabbit hole to go down. They have a catalog that’s for sure
One of the dont miss songs from slipknot is snuff. As emotional, honest, and raw as ren, and thats saying a lot from something this heavy
Sooooo much many songs & videos.... if ya choose to venture down this rabbit hole!
The maggots will love this!
❤❤
Clown, is a classicly trained percussionist, if I have it correct.
Yes he does use metal kegs and oil drums with a baseball bat beater authentically. So any of him beating a metal keg or oil drum in a video he does for real during performances. This has generally done his wrists and hands in early, but he still gives 100%.
The band are a 9 piece unit with a storied and dramatic history, consisting of :-
Lead man, Corey Taylor
Two guitarists (lead and rhythm)
Bass guitarist
Drummer
2 Percussionists including Shaun "Clown" Crahan. Clown is also a backing vocalist.
A keyboard/synth player
A DJ/record scratcher
Corey is also a pretty damn good rapper, "Spit it Out" showcases it from their first (and I think best) album titled Slipknot
They should do the Live version! Slipknot - Spit it out, Live at Dowload Festival 2009.
@@tubelious live versions generally sound bad though
@@TheBeelzboss true, but that crowd interaction and whole show is phenomenal.
Another band I feel like you guys might sink into is 'Tool' They're one of the greats when it comes to both composing music and writing deep lyrics.
They are their own genre. Everyone needs a bit of Tool in their lives... If ya know what I'm saying
Lateralus and 46&2 are epic, amongst many.
YES
Second this they would love tools lyrics especially
This is a MUST! Lateralus is a rabbit hole, one you can read up on and nerd out on, especially if you like math :)
I totally agree
Metal heads are some of the kindest people I know. It's because we know how to get our aggression out in a healthy way like this. :)
Knox Hill did Lorna Shore and Black Pegasus drops Slipknot all in the same day! :D
I'm digging all these rabbit holes you have started going down. Keep it up guys.
Slipknot is AMAZING live, can’t wait to see them again
I’m seeing them again next week🎉🎉
@@dannycrook5244 you going to download Festival?
This comment is more than long enough so I’ll stop here.
you guys make a great duo, love the reactions.
BP!! Ya trying slipknot reacts now.... Omg this makes me sooo happy 😊🔥🔥
Ren brought me here weeks ago and I'm stoked you're getting into my kind of music every so often. \m/
Oh, Pantera - Cemetery Gates
This is why I am so happy to have so many influence when I was a kids. My dad was a metalhead, my mom loved hiphop/'rap and country... I have heard almost everything :D So I love seeing people opening up their minds and listening to things outside of their comfort zones. Slipknot has been on my list of favs since about 1999, and I've seen them live quite a few times. I would recommend going to a show if you ever get the chance. Make sure to stay hydrated though. lol
10:41..."so he said something about reality and its not real and fingers in eyes ....then you hear the DING of a baseball bat hitting a beer keg "🤣🤣🤣
They actually put a lot of thought and science behind the masks. Not only the imagery for each member but yes, for vocalization. That's why you see more vocal members providing backup vocals have slits on the mouth. But also Coreys mask has changed drastically from being very restrictive to the jaw to being more free and engineered.
spit it out - slipknot vidéo clip from 90s that song is insane with those fast rime and scenes from horror movies
Fun fact: This was a fans house that let them record the music video here and demolish the place.
It actually dropped in 2004, just youtube wasn't around back then is all
It's a song about suffering from migraines.
It'd be interesting to see you react to their song Virus of Life. Or Skin Ticket. Or Prosthetics. Pretty brutal songs, I think it'd be fun 😂
Also, the "Slipknot Army" does have a name, we're called Maggots 🥰
Fun fact. The house in this video was a fan's house in Des Moines, Iowa. They were either demolishing it or going to renovate it. So they reached out to the band to see if they wanted to shoot a video there. So they did. All those people in the video were fans.
You two absolutely need to react to Cory’s acoustic version of “Snuff”. It is deep and raw and his vocals are so incredible and powerful.
You guys should definitely keep getting out of your swim lane, you will find a whole new world to resonate with
Pulling up the lyrics was a 🐐 move... Iowa
I can’t wait to see more!! I keep coming back to these including Korn. Just waiting for more 90s 2000s music reactions from these groups in your catalog!!!🤘🤘🤘
Slipknot - Spit it out 🎤📊🔥🔥🔥
11:41 those masks, especially at this point are all designed with all you mentioned in mind. The lead singer Corey Taylor is probably the most intricate because it works with his mouth opening and closing for vocals.
A absolutely fire one to check out is Spit it out live download 2009, that was awesome
The video was only added to UA-cam 13 years ago. The song was actually released in 2004.
I've seen Slipknot live multiple times and yes, Corey Taylor can project his voice extremely well out of a mask. It doesn't seem to hinder him vocally in any way whatsoever
A line from Nero Forte by Slipknot has always stuck with me "You can do your worst to me. At the end of the day, that's what you do best"
Slipknot is not extreme metal. They are just angry and emotional. Greetings from germany. :)
The actual song and video was released 2004. So 19 years ago ;)
Yes more Slipknot :) hmmm....so many options.. Tattered and Torn is one of my favorite songs by them.
This dropped before 13 years ago. I was hearing it in the mid-2000s even when I first heard it. It must have just been when it was uploaded to UA-cam.
Yes to both but I haven’t seen anyone else say Nero Forte. I think they would love it!
@@HK_8 I agree, Nero Forte is a much more refined controlled version of Corey's voice.
@@HK_8 Left Behind has always been my favorite Slipknot song, but Nero Forte is like tied ever since I heard it
Slipknot fans are called Maggots ...
Cory Taylor is actually the lead singer of stone sour some don’t know. Very good voice.
slipknot has converted many hip hop heads. i'm excited to see where this journey takes you haha
slipknot fans are called maggots fyi
Mans sounds like a middle schooler reading out loud lmao
Just for clarification, the fingers in the eyes thing is just lyrical imagery for when you like put pressure on your eyes or bridge of your nose when you have a headache. Not like literally shoving your fingers violently into your eyeballs.
I dunno … sometimes putting pressure directly on the eyes helps. Not forcefully obviously.
American's are stranger...oh my, that's loud "DEVILLLLLLLL!"
This track actually dropped back in 2004 lol just goes to show you can never go by when something was uploaded to youtube to know how old it actually is.
many older songs were uploaded around the 2010s, once the musicians caught on that it helps spread their music.
Duality is actually about the migraines Corey Taylor gets . Pushing the fingers into your eyes to relieve the pain. Nothing can relieve it. You can’t seem to feel like your gonna make it. Slipknot is amazing!
The “all I’ve got is insane” is about everything people suffering in chronic pain have to deal with… my best friend is a beautiful Danish woman who has CRPS, & is in constant pain… she cried when she heard this song, she said it’s a perfect description of what she goes through…
The name for fans of slipknot is usually "maggots"
A few suggestions for other bands (without checking your other content)
Alexisonfire : boildfrogs (have the lyrics open)
Protest the hero : yellow teeth
Bullet for my Valentine: tears don't fall
I was in this video! March 2003. Crazy to think that I was a couple weeks from turning 19, and here I am all these years later pushing 40. Some fun facts:
Nice, I found you from Ren reactions.. and I've enjoyed those. Now you are doing one of my favorite all time bands... NIIIICE
Any show that requires a waiver for floor seats is my kind of show. Took my daughter to see Korn opening for Slipknot in NJ, what a show.
By the way as always love the reactions…especially love your Rammstein ones…keep up the great work, and thanks for all the entertainment
Great reaction and breakdown ❤
12:23 the crazy thing is, every show they do, they stop the crowd like this before hitting REALLY hard they get crowds of like 100k to just…chill for a second…you should do a react to their song “spit it out” live and the music video
You guys nailed this f**king song!!! 🤌🏼
Yo what you said about how its like hiphop with the pain inside. Man, you guys get it. I grew up with both and as far as people remove them i feel hiphop and metal are way closer then people think
