If you want some of the most crazy ass time signatures in metal, listen to some Dream Theater, specifically Panic Attack. That song was specifically designed to make you feel jittery and nervous when you listen to it because of how wonky the time signatures are in the composition.
I'm not so sure about this suggestion for Rob. He couldn't stand the first Tool song he listened to because of this exact thing. Couldn't figure out how to bob his head to it.
@RobTV it's called bpm in every style of music - bpm simply means "beats per minute" and describes more or less the tempo / speed of the music. But I guess what you are meaning with the "odd timing" are either changes in time signature (going e.g. from a 4/4 beat to a 3/4 beat with or without changes in the bpm) or syncopations (playing off-beat).

Duality is a masterpiece of its own and the music video is gold. Wanted to give you a bit of info for these guys that i didnt see from other people to help you on your way. Duality's lyrics were written by the frontman Corey Taylor during the height of his alcoholism and he would get severe migraines that would make him want to push his fingers in his eyes to get to the pain, hence the chorus. The rest is just the frustration he felt at being helpless against the migraines. As hard as this goes they have much harder songs like "Disasterpieces" "Eyeless" "Left Behind" and "My Plague" but what usually hooks most rap fans is "Spit it Out" so have fun with those
Rob you gonna have to get the headphones on tighter with all this head banging LOL. Slipknot is mandatory FGC music. Putting my bid in again for "The Downfall of us All" By A Day To Remember.
Their concert DVD "Disasterpieces" from 01-02 is the quintessential expert performance by these 9 gentlemen and encompasses the best of their first 2 albums
You might like "The Devil in I", "Before I Forget", and "Psychosocial" by Slipknot too. Originally, I didn't like "Psychosocial" because the melodic vocals in the chorus are vastly different than the rest of the song. Once I got used to that, though, I liked it. Also, search "Joey Jordison sound check" on here. He was their drummer and is still my favorite of all-time. His sound check legit sounded like it could be a song for most drummers. He also played the drums on a special rig that twisted and flipped him and the drums upside down during concerts. He was so talented and taken too soon. RIP Joey.

I grew up a white dude listening to Tribe, Pharcyde, Diggable Planets.. mostly hiphop and R&B.. in a *very* white, rural area. I would never claim that I experienced racism directly, but I certainly felt its vile effects. We've still got so far to go, but it heals my soul that those disgusting attitudes are totally unacceptable where I live now. Music transcends. I got into metal after buying a guitar, but I came to understand that no matter the genre, we all sing about the same struggles, victories, loves and fears. Anyway your videos are awesome and totally brought me back :)
On to my 6th video of yours over the last hour, and what I’m noticing that’s pretty dope, is you appear to like the heavy shit, man. Yeh, that HipHop bridge is fun to cross into metal with Rage, but can already tell you don’t need the rap to enjoy what you’re hearing. Slipknot’s is a nice aperitif with starters for Heavy, but there’s a rabbit hole of Heavy AF shit out there I got a feeling you’ll fck with. Possibly even Death Metal & Black Metal, the heaviest of the heavy shit, haha. Anyway, s/o from Edinburgh, Scotland. Looking forward to seeing you discover more Heavy bands & styles. Keep it up!

Slipknot is not just iconic, they are one of the reigning Gods.
7:01 nah, you have to listen to "wait and bleed" next. hearing that split second of the intro after "duality" ended just made me queue it up on repeat. forsure one of their best songs, imo.
If you love the feel of music try listening to "Rammstein". They are a german speaking band but the spirit of their music alone is enough. Best introduction would be "Du Hast" Live in Parris.
Oh. I'd say Links 234.
grats on the sponsorship...you earned it... that weird beat switch up is called "syncopation" (I think)
Subbed. Love the energy. Let's get it!
I love watching first reactions to slipknot. fkn awesome
fantastic reaction! you have to listen to "spit it out" and yes have the lyrics up when you listen to it for the first time.
That face you were making is called a “stank face”, it’s the face one naturally makes when hearing good metal.
Dude, if I had the money for Patreon, you'd have it. Love your reactions. Rock on!
Great reaction! 🔥 Legends! 💯
@1:09 : Geographically locked music (yes, yes, I know that this is a walk into an ad read BUT):
The Hu - Wolf Totem (Mongolian metal)
Alien Weaponry - Kai Tangata (Maori [New Zealand native] metal)
Baby Metal (Japanese metal)
Scandanavia has amazing metal bands (Meshuggah, Amon Amarth)
Behemoth (Poland)
Gojira (France)
Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Violation (Italy)
Bloodwood (India)
Metal is international.
Love to see how you react to Slayer, something like Raining Blood, Angel of Death, or Dead Skin Mask. They’re more thrash metal and they’re amazing listening for the gym.
Hey Rob- just found your channel and this was a ton of fun. Given that you're specifically looking for workout songs that are fun reactions, I think your next one HAS TO BE the song Pump It from Electric Callboy. Swear it'll blow your mind.
It is a work of art. They have been around for a long time and they don't make a bunch of albums because what they record has to be awesome! In about 30 years they only had about 4-5 albums.all classics.
You are a gem! Thanks for the entertainment!! Subscribed!!!
Yay you finally did a slipknot song. So many bangers, so little time! 😂
One of the older Madden games had Duality as menu music, that might be why it sounds familiar
You’re my new favorite reaction tuber now
Another similar band/song with that whispering aspect is “Bwomp” by Mushroomhead
Keep it up!
If I'm honest I've not heard a lot of their stuff. But I fuckin love this one.
whole band is fucking nuts. they got two scary mfs specifically there for percussion- and their percussion is slamming metal bats against empty gas cans. scary ass iowan white boys and i love it
edit: fr check out ‘the blister exists’ i s2g you will NOT regret it
