Good info and reviews of all 3. FYI I own 4 Toyota/ Lexus SUVs...including a GX 550 OT, 2008 FJ TRD, 2018 Toyota Prado, 1998 Landcruiser. You most likely used 24 GX for the review as the 24 models are still in build phase. FYI in 24 Lexus claimed GC of 8.66 for all trims, then Toyota Confimed the Overtrail has 9.21 GC... and independent laser measurement test, showed the actual GC on the 24 GX OT, was actually no less than 10 GC with the exception of the front cross member which was slightly less than 10. Could it be that Lexus is now being more precise on advertising on the GC or are they actually giving the 25 Model another full inch raise, which would actually put it at close to 11 GC. One other thing the GX 550 has over the other two, is it can Tilt articulate on its side, without flipping. colud the other 2 models follow the GX OT on the same Toyota course and articulate as well? I would love to see all 3 on the same course. lol.
Excellent review. I am in the market and have narrowed to the Trailhunter, LC, and recently the GX Overtrail. Your factual analysis has been very helpful. I now must test drive various models. Sometimes shopping is good fun.
I considered the TRD Pro and LC, but have 95% decided to get the 550 OT. I drove the 550 a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved the engine. EKDSS is a game changer too, so definitely want that. I really don't like the reduced cargo areas cause by the hybrid batteries.
Thanks for pointing this out, should have clarified more clearly - The GX does have, but the protection is not as much as the Land Cruiser gets for its underbody - this video from about 2:40 onwards has a good illustration of the differences. ua-cam.com/video/1WNkh5WHMr8/v-deo.htmlsi=sih_x6rHp5c17VeF
GX is most attractive in person. Not obvious in photos or videos. Have to see it in person. Superior drive train and suspension. Unfortunately NO real leather on GXOT+ or a digital rear view mirror. Major omissions for the trim and price point.
Considered the TRD Pro, but now plan to buy the GX 550 OT. Why? More cargo area, better V6 powertrain, EKDSS, .6" more ground clearance, on board air compressor, cooled seats. Also, it looks better and has a much nicer interior. The LC is a less desirable, watered down version of the same vehicle. Contrary to the narrator, the GX OT does have under body protection. Higher costs at the pump is the only drawback for me.
Thanks for the comment and good luck with the search process. Should have clarified more clearly in the video - the GX does have underbody protection, but the protection is not as much as the Land Cruiser gets - feel free to check out this video from about 2:40 onwards which gives a good illustration of the differences in case it is helpful - ua-cam.com/video/1WNkh5WHMr8/v-deo.htmlsi=sih_x6rHp5c17VeF
@@rickper Not real leather, no 2400 watt plug. Maybe tri zone in the + version, but don't know. Digi mirror - don't think so. None of those are things I care about.
The quality is definitely down. They are tryna get the curb weights down because it’s cheaper to ship. In them cheaper materials are used. And Toyota is in massive dept.
Do you want full time 4WD? Do you want v6 or hybrid. You are done after answering those questions unless approach angle is a deal breaker then maybe don’t get GX
Great review! This really shows how similar and different these 3 vehicles are.

If yo get GX, you get Lexus service experience. Keep in mind, everybody is going to cut on overall costs. Lexus hasn’t dissapointed me as yet.
Your review is correct.
Ive owned a 250 Land Cruiser for a month now AND HOW SHIT ITS AWESOMMMEEE!!!!!!!!!! !!! !!
GX 550 Overtrail model does come with skid plates.

Does the overtrail have real leather yet or tri zone climate, maybe option now for digital rear view mirror, 2400 Watt plug

1958 LC... pretty arse!

TRD Pro has over 10" of ground clearance.
@@PetrolheadPodcasts No...10.1" ground clearance for both the Trailhunter and the TRD Pro. 9.84 inches for the GX/GX+
Thanks for sharing - good catch
LEXUS 👌❤️🔥👍 TOYOTA
