There is such joy in this song! Everything about it moves and lifts and excites. I love the smiles on the guy's faces. Jeff looks enraptured. THIS is my favorite Toto track of all time!
To me this was the best period of Toto. Their early lineup with Hungate and Kimball was amazing, but their sound with Mike P on bass and Joseph Williams on lead vocals just has a more polished and funkier feel. One of a very few bands that every song on every album is great. RIP Jeff and Mike, Toto fans really miss you guys.
This is probably my favourite TOTO song of all time. It's the combination of layers of music, drums, percussion and the amazing vocals of Joseph Williams. He was on top of his voice back then!
really?? Rosanna? Africa? don't do it for you? This song barely charted and disappeared just as quickly. Sorry to break it to you. To each her own though.
@@arrowheadftball Africa is definetly not my favourite Toto song. It's a very good song but in my opinion overrated (lyric wise for sure). There's too much profit margin now in computer/sequenced synthesized sound with auto-tuned sex-sells for the industry to even consider people who have honed their craft and composition creativity; they're just too expensive and too rare. The industry can use marketing instead to sell the noise pollution of today, and the marketing works like a charm. But everyone loses out on quality in the process.

@@colepatterson8205 Exactly. As long as it took them to induct Rush, who the F cares what those idiots at the HOF think. People will still be playing songs like this way after some of the jokes they have inducted. That's the true test of greatness.
Its because Toto wouldnt succumb to the whims of the non-musical cohort of the industry (radio, A&R execs, media, journalists and so forth). Im pretty sure there were some contractual obligations that got in the way of them being what they wanted to be, and a few other things that are not public. But my take on it is they wouldnt bend over, so they got shunned as a band. Which is interesting because individually and collectively they were involved with some of the biggest songs in musical history. Everybody wanted to work with them. Steve Lukather worked with Quincy, MJ, Lionel Richie, and so many others. Jeff worked with MJ, Quincy, Aretha, Paul Mcartney, and so many others, Paich, worked on so many other projects, it showed that the musicicians and producers recognised their ability and contribution, that everybody wanted them, even if the media didnt. Its a such a shame as while Africa and Rosanna are huge global hits, some of the songs on this album are as equally as good, and so many others since then. I firmly believe they would have achieved world domination as a group if their music got the appropriate airplay in the USA, like they did i Europe and Japan. I love Toto!! They are the very best, and every musician that has been a part of the band are amongst the very best in their field. And the new incarnation fot eh band (2021) with X, Sput, Ham, et al, take things to a new level. Long live Toto, and RIP Jeff, Mike and Ferdie

A deep respect to 80's band. If you look at the comments board, how we 80's music lover people have still kept a lots of love for them. We never forget that golden age of music.
@@joeykong94 They’ve had many different singers. Bobby Kimball was the singer from 1978 to early 1984. Fergie Fredriksen was the singer in 1984 and 1985. Joseph Williams was the singer from 1986-1988. Bobby came back for a brief reunion in 1989, The song Goin’ Home was recorded that time, it can be found on the Toto XX album. He fully returned in 1999, and sang with them up until 2007. Jean-Michel Byron was their singer in 1990. After Byron was fired Steve Lukather sang everything on the studio albums and live. They did also have background singers that sang lead sometimes, if it was a higher vocal. Joseph was fired early in 1988, but returned later in the 2010’s. He still sings with the band to this day. David Paich is the keyboardist, Steve Porcaro also played synths with the band, but he left in 1988 (He still played with the band in the studio and live on a couple shows), he also played with them in more recent times, but left again and hasn’t been in the band since 2018. Steve Lukather is the guitar player. David Hungate was their original bassist until after the recording of the Toto IV album, Mike Porcaro replaced him and played with them until 2007, when he started to develop problems with his hand which led to his death from ALS in 2015. They had many replacements for Mike. Nathan East in 2013, Leland Sklar in 2007 and Shem Von Schroeck in 2018/2019. Jeff played drums for the band from 1978 to 1991, until his death in August of 1992. Simon Phillips replaced him and played with them up until 2013. Keith Carlock played with them on the Toto XIV album. Shannon Forest then replaced Simon as their live drummer (He played on a track from Old Is New, 2018) until 2018. Robert “Sput” Searight now plays drums with them, in their new 2021 lineup.

Joe Williams is a one-of-a-kind singer. The way he punches the “cries her name” line at 2:09 is just amazing. Also, some of you might not know this, but he is the son of movie composer John Williams.
This is my first time hearing and seeing this MTV and omg, I can't stop loving the drummer. I love how he was smiling and enjoying what he was doing ♥♥♥ So sorry to know he was gone too soon.
Im 23. Living in the 80s with this music is only a dream for me. Wished I was this age in those times. Take care everyone and love your family and bring time with them.
THIS...THIS is a group of TOTALLY CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS who just kill it when ever they play their music. Sadly two of these wonderful band members (Jeff and his brother Mike) are no longer with us, but their quality music will last forever. I've always loved it when a music group was full of absolute killers (this was, and still is a very-very rare thing to find in a group), but that is what has always made me love, and made many of my friends hate Toto. Many of my friends would say, "their just a group of studio musicians" while I would (and STILL say) do you have any idea how good you have to be, to in your words be "a studio musician".... you have to be a REAL....REAL MUSICIAN to be the one that the industry calls to get it right.....to absolutely nail it....this is not a bad thing, this was/is a badge of honor.....and of course they would just say...."what ever Wes"......any way, I absolutely loved, and still love these guys. I give props to (in my opinion) one of THE greatest groups ever.
@@brennanbuglioni2821 Hey Brennan, I love my friends growing up, but as I told them then...you guys are wrong on this one. But it's cool, different strokes for different folks I guess. I use this song to calm down my son. When he's upset I always play this song and he gets quiet and shortly after smiles. That's the first song he ever listened to. He's nearly 2 and is the love of my life. And Toto is just there with the two of us to make our lives better. He was crying and now is giggling. Thanks Toto. Thanks music. I can't stop loving you, my son.
Joseph has recorded four studio albums with the band now, and it’s incredible how well his voice has matured over the years. He had a strong vocal resemblance to George Michael on Fahrenheit and Seventh One, and he’s been singing low, high and mid-range parts on Toto XIV and Old Is New. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I also heard that he sang David Paich’s vocal parts on their most recent tour while Paich was out.
Africa has a majority vote for best Toto song but IMO this is their best song. So many different elements to this masterpiece and not many have had a chance to hear it!

Toto are the best band in the world and Joseph Williams is a man with a clear, flowing, perfect voice. I said the video is terrible, but I completely changed my mind. It happened to me. I smashed a whole bunch of things last week in my room and fell on the floor just like he does. Really sad. Love can be a very painful thing and I'm suffering a broken heart now. To the ones I left behind and forgot until the memories came back I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU!

How these guys haven’t gotten into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame yet baffles me. They were and still are incredible.
GOAT
Honestly the rock hall is a sham anyway but Toto is too good for the rock hall
They are far too good for that RRHOF nonsense
"Stop Loving You"
Reflections in my mind
Thoughts I can't define
My heart is racing and the night goes on
I can almost hear a laugh
Coming from your photograph
Funny how a look can share a thousand meanings
Well-intended lies
Contemplating alibis
Is it really you or is it me I'm blaming?
A distant memory
Flashes over me
Even though you're gone I feel you deep inside
Dance beneath the light with that look in your eyes
I can't stop loving you
Time passes quickly and chances are few
I won't stop 'til I'm through loving you girl
There's a window in the heart
I've tried to look through from the start
You're never really sure what someone else is thinking
Someone's broken something new
Another altered point of view
Just a certain someone's conscience playing
I held it in my hand
I did not understand
What lives inside the wind that cries her name
Trying to catch a shooting star
What seems so close can't be that far
I'm living in a dream that's never ending
Dance beneath the light with that look in your eyes
I can't stop loving you
Time passes quickly and chances are few
I won't stop 'til I'm through loving you girl
Dancing with that look that's in your eyes
I can't stop loving you
Time passes quickly and chances are few
I won't stop 'til I'm through loving you girl
I can't stop loving you
Time passes quickly and chances are few
I won't stop 'til I'm through loving you
Loving you
Gracias desde España 🙌🍀
A day without Toto is a day wasted.
Now that’s a philosophy I can get by!
AMEN!!!!!
True
THAT'S TRUE
Couldn't agree more
A deep respect to 80's band. If you look at the comments board, how we 80's music lover people have still kept a lots of love for them. We never forget that golden age of music.
The weird thing is that as a band they only sold about 40 million records, but, they were some of the most well known sessions musicians of all time.
Just think about all the past relationships created out of this absolutely nostalgic song.
Whoever wrote this song is a genius. ❤
TOTO FOREVER ........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@guenandolini They did in 2018 or 2019. But they are back with a totally differently lineup, becuase Luke can’t afford some musicians. ua-cam.com/video/S3YGsf_zfD4/v-deo.html
If you look on their UA-cam channel they released videos of their live album With A Little Help From Friends, but you can also buy the live album.
Jon Anderson in the background. 👊🏼
Used to be a little girl when Toto was a successful band back in the 80's. Now I'm 40 and have rediscovered the magic, the lyrics the perfect playing of each instrument and the great voices of Joseph Williams and Steve Lukater. The best band ever. Xoxo From Panamá city Panama
well said and spot on!
This song is timeless... such a good tune. I really like this era of Toto.
Agreed
i always use Toto's songs to test speakers ... the drums are out of this world
gino yea I know
Jeff was the best!
My favourite song
no way - doin' the same thing! :-)
I know these brothers were backbone of Toto but seriously you test speaker with their song makes them more legend..
Joe Williams is a one-of-a-kind singer. The way he punches the “cries her name” line at 2:09 is just amazing.
Also, some of you might not know this, but he is the son of movie composer John Williams.
damn, that's crazy. talented men those two.
I always felt so.
@@samvandam1766 what gave it away

Great singer Joe Williams .
Also jon Anderson from yes sings backing vocals my all time favourite singer
This is my first time hearing and seeing this MTV and omg, I can't stop loving the drummer. I love how he was smiling and enjoying what he was doing ♥♥♥
So sorry to know he was gone too soon.
Jeff was a legend! And his smile was absolutely infectious! 🤤💯🥵🥁🎶❤️🔥
The Porcaro brothers are insanely in sync. That pocket!
The singer is a powerful performer 👌🏻
Im 23. Living in the 80s with this music is only a dream for me. Wished I was this age in those times. Take care everyone and love your family and bring time with them.
Same😭 Im 17 and feeling the excact same way. So glad I was able to attend their concert in august 2022. Best day of my life❤
53 year old here. The times when this music came out were my best. Enjoy Sir
@@JeefWiggo Thats so true

I give props to (in my opinion) one of THE greatest groups ever.
ª
Yes, TOTO is “TOTOLLY” great music for all times from the glorious 80-s!
Sounds like you should get better friends Wes. Toto is amazing
@@brennanbuglioni2821 Hey Brennan, I love my friends growing up, but as I told them then...you guys are wrong on this one. But it's cool, different strokes for different folks I guess. I still see the guys (rarely...those of us who are still around) every now and again, and everyone still has their own opinion, and this is cool, that's what makes the world go around...I guess..
🙂🤓
Yeah, to tell you the truth I just discovered Toto recently. I am a 90's kid and teenager, and for so many years I knew and loved their songs, but never knew the band. So I never respected them as much as I did now.. What a fool
My favorite Toto album.
RIP Jeff, Mike, Papa Joe, Fergie...
-A big Toto fan since 1978.
Perfect groove!
Perfect song!
Excellent singing by Joseph Williams.
Still holds its tune to this very time.
Thats very impressive for a song more than 30 years old...
Why does 80's music make me nostalgic for a time period that I wasn't even apart of?
Love this song!
Because you have good taste in music! *: )* The 80s were great.
I second what Karl said.
Because you probably many of then in your childhood in places or movies
Anemoia, simple
music especially in the 80s were made out of passion, of course there was trash too but todays music is way too much show
Sounds better the more you hear this......AWESOME
Eu vou sair aqui da Bahia pegar um voo pra São Paulo pra ver o Toto ao vivo no dia 24 de Novembro de 2024 ! É um sonho que vou realizar !!!😊
How can anyone give TOTO a thumbs down??? They are the best.
Stupid trolls on UA-cam. It's nice that now Google isn't showing anymore the thumbs down if not to whom posted the video.
@@zuzanasemkova2809 😂😂😂 very funny answer from yourside, or let me be more precise, STUPID answer
Toto is awesome listening to it now
@@nexdrumsYeah! Things like opinions don't exist! Everyone from the 7+ billion people who listen to this just simply MUST agree with each other, no matter what!
Seriously though... You're so wrong it hurts. Granted, i like it too, but at least i don't deny the existance of the people opposite to me...
Wowww, que hermoso lo que sucede con tu hijo, primero la canción y luego este comentario, me han emocionado. ¡GRACIAS!!!
This song gives me good chills 🎸💕🎶 listening still in May 2024

Everlasting song
Joseph has recorded four studio albums with the band now, and it’s incredible how well his voice has matured over the years. He had a strong vocal resemblance to George Michael on Fahrenheit and Seventh One, and he’s been singing low, high and mid-range parts on Toto XIV and Old Is New.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I also heard that he sang David Paich’s vocal parts on their most recent tour while Paich was out.
Africa has a majority vote for best Toto song but IMO this is their best song. So many different elements to this masterpiece and not many have had a chance to hear it!
It's so crazy that the studio execs didn't release this song as a single in the US...
Agree
Agreed, for me this is the perfect rock song. Great lyrics, great music support, great harmoney, great voice....just fantastic all the way
I can't stop loving this song.
I wish I would have written something this beautiful and timeless. Extraordinary songwriting and vocal harmonies with superb video production. Inspiring.

To the ones I left behind and forgot until the memories came back I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU!
well said and spot on Sir!
Anyone remember what movie this song was in??? Racking my brain and I swear I heard it playing in a movie. 80s , 90s maybe. Kills me every time I hear it on the radio, and I couldn't find it online.
There's some kind of ultimate appreciation I have for this band that I don't share for any other band
Same here. They're so unique.

Hello Donna. How are you doing today?
One of the greatest bands in music great musicianship and harmonies! Music doesn't get any better than Toto! The 80s were the best when it comes to music!
I love that Jon Anderson of Yes is helping on chorus and scatt in the middle. Such great vocals and a rhythm pocket. One of the best Toto anthems. ❤
