@@markkroner9800 let me correct you. He stopped hitting them because he used poor technique, almost ruining his voice. He had to train very hard to get it back in shape and he did. Now he dodges as many high notes as he can and still does them. Very impressive.
@@xanderguldie Just to clarify as I don't know how it works and I haven't heard him sing the high notes anymore: Is his ability to sing them gone? Did he lose that voice up there over the years or is he just saving it?
@@lorenzmuller3542 definitely saving it, if you listen to lion or english eyes from their 40 tours around the sun live album he hits high notes with ease but only when necessary
Joseph has continually improved IMO. He has more power now in his 60's, than in his 30's. He does vocal exercises daily, and it shows. Did you know that he is the son of the most famous composer of all time, John Williams ?
Learn something new every day. Never knew of the connection between the film industry's finest living composer and one of the best band in the country's lead singer. Damn.
One of my favorite things is to listen to a band that has been around a while that can still sound and perform as good as they did at the beginning. Sometimes they are even better with their years of experience!
I wish Joe had been able to look after his voice better back in the 80s. I seen them last year in Hamburg and he just sounds so fantastic these days though.
I miss him so much from 1986-1988.....charming voice and nice handsome guy.... The golden boy of the Hollywood movie and music industry....Now he's a fat old man in his 60s, but his voice is still there.
Lea is my second favorite song of Toto, and I can’t thank them enough for choosing Joe as the permanent lead vocalist. My favorite Steve Porcaro composed songs in Toto discography.
Thank you for your time making this wonderful video. Appreciate your efforts, showcasing this man's extraordinary voice over 40 years and this band's dynamic evolution. There are no words for how this band has impacted me musically and more importantly emotionally for my entire adult life. Thanks again for your efforts!
Was listening Joe in1998 wizh some cover band. "Tried to catch a shooting star, what seems so close can't be that far I'm living in a dream that's never ending." This end of verse - He killed it better than original. In my opinion, his best singing era was in time when he released great solo albums "I'm Alive" and "3".....
Los amo, gracias al Universo por obsequiarme verlos y escucharlos este 2024, mi sueño desde que era una niña ….. mi regalo de cumpleaños de mi para mi. Gracias gracias gracias ❤
All of these years and I now ashamedly found out that the great John Williams is Joseph's father. No wonder he sings so well. Music flows in his veins. Thank you for such amazing music to both You and Your Father!
Last week, Joseph Williams came to the Billboard Live in Osaka, Japan with former Chicago member Bill Champlin and shook hands with Joseph Williams after the show. His hands seemed to be very thick. I was very impressed!!!
Not only does Joseph sound so consistent and powerful over the years, how's the tempo?! I was expecting the tempo to slightly fluctuate from the different clips but it's all pretty bang on the same!
I'm a massive Toto fan so I'm not discrediting anything.. but the 2013 (Anniversary Tour) and the 2021 ('Toto with a little help from friends' during lockdown) video has a lot of post-production going on. Those are from official live releases.. theres not a single wrong note or anything even slightly off note.. not possible in a live environment. However, the recent performance (2024, the final video) at "Night Of The Proms" in Belgium, I believe is the real deal. Man sounds phenomenal
@@michaelshepherd885 Yessss I see this a lot!! 😂. Not just with that DVD/TOTO fans.. but any "live performance" here on UA-cam.. autotuned/pitch corrected into oblivion and people in the comments will be like "Omg they're so good!! Love your voice. Better than the original artist". Yes because its fake 🤣
Yup 100%. I never get the Toto fans who hate on Joseph who do pretty much always talk about the Live in Amsterdam DVD as the reason why. A recording from the desk is literally on youtube to show them what Bobby DID sound like that night @@kieranniemand2939
I’m born with perfect pitch and have heard the band every time they visited the North of Europe since 2010. Joe sings in pitch. You can hear him go to a lower note at times when the backing vocals saves his voice but the pitch is flawless. And he’s so consistent other vocalists needs to take note.
Man, the premise of this is cruel. As an aging vocalist - our voices suffer from the damage of touring. Joseph is still singing the songs in their original key, unlike other again singers. (But it was cool seeing him sing the same song throughout the years - the guy is a rock).
This comparison is quite unfair : First video, we all know he had lost his voice. 2nd video, he had not sing since a very long time and was starting his come back. It's obvious to me he has always been really good at singing, even if yes, he is even better today.

He long ago stopped singing the high notes. Warren Ham or the girl singer hit the hard stuff . Just sayin

Joseph's technique has definitely improved over the years.
Exactly what I was thinking. He sounds better as he’s aged I think! Amazing
In one of his interviews he stated he left the band and had vocal lessons in LA for a few years! Definitely shows
Did anyone see him on star search from approx 83? He was amazing
Yeah he almost ruined his voice until he began training with a new coach. It has improved a lot since then
His voice remains unchanged whatever how old he is. We love you, Joe!
Unchanged? His voice is even better today in my opinion😍
@@roelmd8907 Absolutely
4 decades on the original tone, WOW Joseph, WOW 😮😮😮
The 2013 concert is just so good.
Agree and for me, the best concert they had for the last 2 decades.
I hope that I can watch them live in their 50th anniversary concert.
One of my favorite singers of all time. And for the last 10 years, he's been never better!
just aged like fine wine, his vocals imrpoved over time
Exactly!!!
I really miss Tony Spinner. The extra guitar and his vocal range really filled out the sound

His vocals really suits the song

Simply one of the most versatile supergroups ever!!
It's rare that is better as they get older, Joseph's voice really took a huge leap when he rejoined Toto. Way better control.
I love both singers and feel no need to pit one against the other
Probably one of the best singers from that time that still has a wonderful voice

Excellent my friend show the voice evolution of Joseph Williams.
One of the band's best songs!
I agree 2013 was prime time for them all and Joseph looked the best and dressed like a rockstar
if you haven’t seen it, go look up Joseph’s performance on tv show Star Search from before he was in Toto….really good
I have never seen someone own the stage like he does absolute superstar
Joseph Williams is TOTO biggest legacy in leading vocal ever.
Amo a TOTO❤..Joseph hermoso como siempre 😍😍y esa voz espectacular, increíble..!! Talento extraordinario ..Saludos🇦🇷🇦🇷
If anything his voice sounds richer, more refined 😊
My thoughts exactly!
Joseph Williams held the lead vocals and carried hits of Toto so well.
I love this song

His live voice definitely got better through the years. Nowadays it is much like the young Joe Williams, back in 1988, curiously.
Que no se te apague nunca tu voz Joseph....ÚNICO y por muchos años la voz de TOTO....❤ GRANDE TOTO!!!
No doubt. The older he gets, the better he sings. God bless Joseph and Toto.
Great video seamless edits....much appreciated, well done
