By far my favorite aspect. Took me ages to learn (for speedruns) not to instantly load all three casts ESPECIALLY with trippy shot just to smoke one witch into oblivion, and then wait like an idiot for 5 seconds and lose time.
the Elysium witch room might be the funniest thing I've seen in a Hades run so far, I've had that happen to me once but I think I was on the bow so it didn't matter as much haha nice stuff, I've done some runs with Beowulf and I knew of its potential but I've never realize it could be this good, I might practice it properly now. Nice stuff bro!
I am slowly getting 32 heat on all my weapons but I’m still super slow, my fastest time is 15 minutes. Watching you play I think I’m bad at dodging attacks and grouping enemies together as I attack. With beo specifically i often load up all casts when I only need to load 1. when I dodge I run too far away from the casts and lose time chasing after the casts
It feels like it's gonna take some time to get used to the button remapping after hundreds of attempts already but I still haven't gotten a sub 10 time and this is quite convincing. I have never first boss in close to 2 minutes and never ever have I been remotely close to beating her in 10 seconds. Yelp
Beowulf was actually my first weapon where I hit 32 heat, using a similar build with flood shot and its consistency really makes it one of the best aspects imo
Tried this run tonight. Didn't end up using Hades keepsake, but had a lucky run. Got Mirage Shot by end of Tart, Rush Delivery by end of Asphodel. Got +1 cast and +attack from Chaos (was able to use multiple rerolls on Chaos cast), Epic Ravenous Will, Zeus call and Jolted. I didn't get Sea storm or a way to proc P Status, but got an overall personal record of 9:35 with mid execution. My previous PR was Eris at 9:39 and then 10:02 with Beowulf. Btw Beowulf is the only aspect with which I've cleared 40 heat. Thanks for the content. Edit: I should've used Family Favorite for this Poseidon-Artemis build, though if I would'e gotten Aphrodite cast like Dan did, or if I would gotten Rupture, Privileged Status would've been better.
Is Ravenous Will even a good boon with Beowulf? I assumed that having all your bloodstones loaded into the shield didn't count as being out of them, but I must be wrong if it's worth taking
@@Nat_the_Chicken I believe it counts as being out as it says 0/3 stones. I was forced to take Demeter and wanted Snow Burst but settled for Epic Ravenous Will as it wasn't worth rerolling
I'm gonna try this build for sure. Crazy damage. Also I get the hesitation on rebinding keys. I like it for certain aspects and builds though like aspect of hestia I rebound reload to my side mouse button. Can be useful but is weird.
Haelian calling this a Special run when hes using Attack and Cast SMH my head The surprisingly fun part of Beo is the Charge Shot lite property where the Bull Rush would do its max 50 damage regardless of how long you charged it. Beo definitely follows the other Hidden Aspect idea of being a "heavy weapon" in feel but that change singlehandedly make it the most fluid shield in practice(at least without Charge Shot on the other 3 aspects) since you can Dash Attack -> Charge some wide reaching high damage. On a related note Its also kinda funny how for how iconic of an ability Boiling Blood is in the game, the arguable 2 best aspect(Hera and Beowulf) have an innate ability that in a way, reads "disables/weakens Boiling Blood". I get that Beowulf weapon upgrade basically exists to more than compensate for losing Boiling Blood, but its kinda funny how it works out that way
Sorry, I blinked. Gonna watch the video again. I had a similar run to this the other day, but I only had common Passion Flare. :C Dealt like 220 damage at 7 or 8 poms.
Just beaten heat 32 with beowulf first attempt playing aspect for first time. Charged flight, heartbreak flourish, flood flare. No movement boon from hermes was pain in hades fight...
11:07 what is the point of going out of your way and paying to fill the god pool? Wouldn't a fourth god just organically come up as a room reward and you can take it at that point? Like in first room of Elysium, you just pick "not a desirable god". Hoping I make sense
If your pool isn't full, you're gonna keep being offered god boons until you fill em. Same way "fill a slot" is sound logic if you're looking for tier 2 or legendary boons-they can't offer you ares attack if you already have another attack boon
Filling the god pool increases the chance of seeing gods that are in your pool. Like, if you are at 3/4 gods you are at an increased chance to see a new god vs one of the 3 you have
Someone already said it but at that point, you kind of want to fill the pool since it increases the odds of seeing gods you already have boons from after. Otherwise, it's more likely to keep getting offered new gods. We didn't really want boons from any other gods that who we already saw so it made sense to just fill it. It's a VERY minor strat for a little fun run like this though. It would be more important if we didn't have Mirage Shot already.
I suck so bad using Beowulf its insane! I am trying to clear 32 heat and its like i am a beginner all over again i cant deal enough damage and i feel so slow smh
For whatever reason I still can't use Beowulf despite weeks of practice. I'm CONSTANTLY taking hits with it. I think it's the slowness of the weapon that's doing tremendous damage to my play. I can't get used to the slow swing of the lack of offense when the shield is flying around.
I think sudden rush is good with beowulf, but the annoying part is that i dont like it together with charged shot, it just charges too fast, especially against hades when youre close to him a lot on EM4. But that makes taking sudden rush as a consolation when you get the first hammer is risky, what if you get charged shot on the second one lol
Sudden + Cshot is pretty good outside of bosses. In heroes/dad I do think some specific practice is needed to make the most at it, and I didn’t take sudden in my most recent pb because it only really saves times in ely rooms + Styx
I see I should use Passion Flare more often. What are your thoughts on settling for an Epic Greater Haster (40%) for the first Hermes, especially if you're low on rolls ? It stills unlocks Rush Delivery, although of course the extra damage is only 20-40% unless you get well items - but it's consistently up, which I find convenient on Beowulf and some other aspects.
Settling, maybe. The problem is rushed delivery isn't always 100% damage, so it's a pretty huge nerf from 50% (or more) extra damage to 20% and 40% at absolute best. Part of the strength of beo is you don't usually need very many boons, so you can spend all your rolls trying to get hyper sprint instead. Personally, I'd take +1 dashes over epic haste, because it gives a bit more maneuverability (and can stack damage with splash dash much easier, or get more reflects with Athena). You don't get the damage of rush delivery, but you have more maneuverability and utility with other parts of the kit to make up some damage. Also, personally haste makes my muscle memory go off. I'm used to moving a set speed, and suddenly going faster can throw off some of the moves I'm used to, but that's just me.
+1 is decent movement and beo can scale off of wells/chaos so it’s a lot less RD reliant than others aspects. Playing IGT I probably take epic haste over +1 but not +2, but it really depends on the day.
@@vetbaitednv You get the bonus immediately when taking the +dash, whereas you'd have to wait for Rush Delivery (and hope it even appears) after sitting on Greater Haste. I imagine the speedrun community would have split opinions on this, chalk it up to personal preference.

It's definitely good with Beowulf but the aspect already has a natural AoE with how the cast bursts, something that Hera lacks. So just not as important and the priority shifts to Mirage Shot.
Hey I have a question. Why would you not take epic Hydraulic Might at 15:40? +75% damage in the first 10 sec sounds amazing in a build where you just butchered asterius in 6 seconds... Is BW or TF really better than HM at that stage?
Woops, I'm going to guess I didn't consider it but I can't remember. Not sure what we had from Artemis at that point but we'd have to get Pressure Points and Support Fire in order to just get offered the legendary so the odds were low no doubt but worth considering.
Can I apply more than one aspect in a weapon or does I need to choose between them? And, if I can apply more than one, wich ones does I need to avoid to not miss the hidden aspects?
Artemis' cast has bad scaling with poms and a much smaller AoE when using Beowulf. Without Beowulf, Artemis' cast has a hard time competing against casts that have some kind of AoE effect like Trippy Shot or Flood Shot.
