@@treefish2666 Quite the opposite, there's been so many case of cheating that it's natural to assume it was cheated. We love our high heat queen, major congrats to Angel 👑 Here's a couple other small things that might look confusing but make total sense if you run at this level a lot: 7:36 Special damage is REALLY GOOD on Zeus with Explosive Return, and relatively cheap. If the necessary pieces of your build have survived the post-Tartarus purging pool then you will get plenty of sell boons/money from normal room rewards in Asphodel and Elysium. Other Charon items you almost always buy if possible are a Nail of Talos for armor damage (Lernie coming up), Stygian Shard for lava/trap damage, or a Night Spindle for an extra Meg. 8:00 Hermes is really almost useless at this level, and even harmful in some cases. Swift Strike/Flourish can mess up your input cycling, and even hyper sprint removes the ability to shield-slide. You take whatever he gives you as a non-pommable to sell in the purging pool if needed. 9:01 Dionysus boons are THE best source of secondary damage for heat. Zeus/jolted are for the active damage, and hangover is for passive. Dio's call is almost better than jolted because it can provide i-frames, and builds very quickly. Extreme heat runner Mysterra has been experimenting with non-Zeus-special runs at 60+ heat and Dio attack or call feature heavily in a lot of them. This is also why Angel sells Demeter's call after Asphodel, she wants Dio's call. We have all loved Dio since Retrash cleared 60 heat Eris with Dio attack instead of Zeus attack. 11:24 "Why not take the poms?" 50% chance Ambrosia hits one of two Zeus boons, extremely good odds. She also WANTS heroic special. *Without a heroic special, any time you pick up a god other than Zeus for the rest of the run you are at risk of being forced into a god replacement by AP2.* The damage increase from the rarity boost is also fairly large, I think almost two poms worth. She didn't get it, but it at least it hit one of her two Zeus boons. 13:44 Charged shot kills the run outright. You need your normal bull rush for i-frames. Angel also doesn't like sudden rush, and other hammers take away a couple i-frames in certain scenarios. You 100% dodge second hammer if at all possible. 15:03 Double strike is actually bugged on zeus shield, visually you see two bolts but the second bolt doesn't do any damage lol
I am glad you got the video out detailing how awesome the accomplishment was before it happened. I am sure it helped make everyone realize how big the event actually way. Great job and timing. Anyone who wants to show up with bad behavior is just showing what kind of person they really are.

@@michaellevin2861Yeah, it's pretty fortunate that her name fits with the theme of the game (more or less). Sort of like Deckard Cain being randomly chosen from a lottery of fan submissions (except it was a real person's name).

Not only did this take unbelievable luck, but it also took incredible skill and vast knowledge, which was on full display this entire run. I’m so happy for them and this community. Now, I guess the only question is: What next?
Being in the discord and seeing the c33 Thanatos was a fucking shock. Seeing her get a 2 sack and waiting 4 minutes for the final result was absolutely amazing.
@@sorin_markov The timer pauses during Thanatos encounters. Chamber 33 and 34 can be some of the longest encounters in the game depending on the enemy type/combination, so any sort of skip/pause there is huge. Considering how tight the timings are at this high heat, it's pretty huge. Even though the high heaters (and Angel too iirc) have said that Thanatos isn't necessary for a 64 heat clear, it's still a pretty massive time save.
When I first saw the run I thought to myself "no way" and when I watched the run and saw their past runs I was just in awe that someone could posses the skill and RNG to complete the challenge
Haelian, I just want to say thank you for introducing me and so many others to the Hades community. Your content is always great, but more than that, you're considerate of your role as a community figure and respectful in your commentary. Keep being awesome!
For those trying to argue "but math": the probability of getting epic special + explosive return was calculated to be 1/240. When looking at this odds, people tend to say "oh so you'll need to reset 239 runs to get a viable start, which should take hours", but in practice it's different. If you run simulations, you can see that yes, it averages out to 240 resets between runs, but the actual data shows that most trials need much less than that. The 240 comes about because there are a handful of trials that need much, much more resetting, and it's this tail that drags up the average. I simulated 100,000 trials, and roughly 30% of the time you get a viable run within an hour, and 15% within the first 30 minutes (assuming 45 seconds per reset). So getting a viable run within the hour is much more possible than the 1/240 number makes it look. If you are in any gacha community you see it in practice a lot. A new banner can have around 1% odds and there are always people getting what they want within the first few pulls.
Ultimately random Chance is a random Chance. It could be one in a milion and there is still a possibilty that you could get it first try. Its not Immposible by any means, just unlikely.
@@KrolPawi yeah but there is a point where the chance is so minuscule that cheating is the only explanation. Not for 1/240 of course but look at Dreams cheated Minecraft speedrun, it shines a light on why people are so careful to accept this as real

AngeL1C is also a very skilled player so i don’t think that it was just luck but god did it take a lot of both most likely. so happy to have watched this play out over the last year.
Oh it's 100% both. As just one example, the entire run would have just died outright if AngeL didn't get the sack in the second passageway. That's pure RNG right there. Meanwhile lasting consequences means you absolutely need to be on your A game from start to finish, as healing is basically non-existent.
@@webbowser8834 yeah 100%. like her fight with hades at the end was IMMACULATE, very skilled and well practiced. but imagine the unluckiness of getting that far in the run and not getting the sack in the second room x_x we probably would have waited a much, much longer time before this run would have been completed.
Really great luck for Angelic, and terrible luck for Haelian. Legit never knew your channel existed until the algorithm recommended your other video to me last week 😂. I don't follow Hades or speed running in general, but I watched and subscribed apparently to watch you eat crow a week later. Kidding obviously your previous video points are all valid as far as I can tell.
You mentioned that each weapon, however unlikely, has the potential to be viable for 64 heat. I'd love to see a video series explaining the setups and strategies for each weapon
It's actually hilarious how I haven't watched any Hades videos on youtube in over a year, or even played the game recently, and yet all three of these videos have been on my recommended page in sequence. First was your video being picked up by the algorithm and reaching a lot of people, me included, and like 3 days after that, Jade's video also got picked up by the algorithm, and now this one was instantly in my recommended after watching those two videos just days apart. Crazy timing on all fronts, makes for a better storyline in my opinion and shows how even if something is HIGHLY improbable, it's never "impossible" because all it takes is one lucky streak and one mad man to capitalize off it.
same thing for me i was litteraly watching a video 2 days ago about the fact that the stars needed to be aligned for someone to have the skill and the rng to be able to pull it off
It can take you as little as your first try or years to get the winning lottery ticket, but to have the skill to cash THIS lottery ticket in? Tremendous. Congratulations to AngeL1C!
So insane. Your video on 64 heat was the first bit of Hades content I've watched since I finished playing it a year ago and it made me want to play again. Seeing this accomplishment happen right after is nothing short of astonishing. Huge congrats to Angel.
I've recently been getting back into Hades, and since discovering this channel about a week ago I feel like my gameplay, and how I put together a build has been improving. I've managed to start clearing 20+ heat on a second weapon, and I even cleared a run last night where I got 2x Duo boons. (Nemesis with Splitting Headache and Vengeful Mood) Now I'm feeling inspired to go for more ambitious "high roll/no roll" builds like this; syngergizing boons from 3 or 4 gods to hunt for 2x specific duo boons.
I just had some really nice RNG again in my next run after posting this comment. I was spinning to win with Aspect of Zeus, Hunting Blades, Mirage Shot, and Vicious Cycle! accompanied of course by thunder flourish, and a constant stream of seeking arrows from support fire. This was a very fun run. I love this game.
I think another consideration for Dio might've been to get Dio into the god pool, so that 50% of the pool is god's you wanna see later in the run instead of just 25% of the pool.
so cool to witness this part of gaming history! congrats to angelic for defying the impossible and to Haelian for bringing exposure to this incredible feat! cheers to you both.
This reminds me of when the new york times said it would take a million years before man could fly, then the wright brothers invented the airplane literally nine days later
Dummont was first. But they just started to call the brother literally after 40 years. So Dummont was the first that actually did fly. (And his case its an plane that flew by its own).
It is so mindblowing to watch this run. Both the incredible skill and the incredible luck coming together to make this possible, congrats angel1c you made history!

i was recommended your earlier video on the impossibility of this like 4-5 days before angel1c did it. major props to her, such an insanely cool accomplishment (that your prior video helped me appreciate more fully)
I think the key takeaway is that extremely good play can do a lot to help make up for bad odds. I was very skeptical after seeing the run pop up on my feed, but then I saw just how well angel1c was playing in this run, and then I saw their past videos of high heat runs, and then it became a whole lot more believable.
I was casually playing Hades with heat thinking i would get to the max heat at some time in my lifetime. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW IT WAS CONSIDERED IMPOSSIBLE and SOMEONE JUST MADE A SUCCESSFUL RUN AFTER YEARS OMG
32 heat is the highest heat you get achievements at, getting to that level takes serious skill but i think most good gamers can do it eventually. getting above that will take some hardcore dedication, let alone maxing out heat!

Can you make a video saying hades 2 will never come out next? :D I’d love to see if the universe has double strike on, and we immediately see the release right after.
I always worry reaction videos take away viewer metrics from the original creator, so I made sure to watch the original post before coming back to see the commentary. On a related note, knowledgeable commentary is way way more interesting and valuable to me than a "react video"
I had literally never watched a video on Hades before your video saying the 64 heat run was near impossible last week. This week I had the world's first video pop up in my feed like an hour after it was posted and I've been watching videos since. Y'all are making me wanna get this game now!
As someone who never played the game and didn't even lurk in the community, it was kinda wild seeing your video and thinking "huh, interesting" just to see the run pop up on my feed a few days later

Pretty much off-topic, but there's that Hammer offered again in the first room of Elysium. Am I insane, or does the Hammer appear VERY frequently at this location? I swear I've seen it here more often than not...
Your second hammer is always guaranteed to be in Elysium, and in my experience the first chamber of Elysium is almost always a Hammer, Hermes, Coin, or Heart, with a rare chance of anything else.

Yeah, a line about how Zagreus felt like some other power was helping him when he finally beat the whole pact of punishment - some kind of guardian like...an angel.
It would be so hilarious if there's a guy saying "Yeah, well, you could max out all the difficulty options. But then it's *impossible* to beat it without cheating." and then when you beat it he's like "Well... my math was correct" or something. Like not just acknowledging Angel's run, but acknowledging the whole storyline with Haelian's videos from "impossible" to "I beat it in literally under an hour of trying"

We love our high heat queen, major congrats to Angel 👑 Here's a couple other small things that might look confusing but make total sense if you run at this level a lot:
7:36 Special damage is REALLY GOOD on Zeus with Explosive Return, and relatively cheap.
15:03 Double strike is actually bugged on zeus shield, visually you see two bolts but the second bolt doesn't do any damage lol
cant wait for the sequel: "Why world peace will probably never happen"

Not even a week ago I watched the video explaining why this feat is near impossible. As a long time hades fan this makes me so fucking happy
Haelian, I just want to say thank you for introducing me and so many others to the Hades community. Your content is always great, but more than that, you're considerate of your role as a community figure and respectful in your commentary. Keep being awesome!
For those trying to argue "but math":
the probability of getting epic special + explosive return was calculated to be 1/240.
This was an informative comment, thank you
Ultimately random Chance is a random Chance. It could be one in a milion and there is still a possibilty that you could get it first try. Its not Immposible by any means, just unlikely.
