WARNING : Do not leave the governor mechanism inside the motor. It can, and will, come apart or move around where it will break the oil slinger off of the connecting rod.. Even the smallest broken pieces will jam the compression release from working.....or worse. If you must leave the inner workings in place, then re-install the lever and tie it into the far forward position. This will keep the inner assembly from coming apart.

I put a mikuni carb on & naturally the gov assembly no longer functions but quite frankly I wish i could’ve just kept the gov funtioning. Im getting a built race engine next month so for now i just wanna ride it with it governed.
When building a throttle cable for a Mikuni from an old throttle cable, use an axle spacer from a slot car. Safety tip, when starting your minibike or go kart, always put the front against a wall or something solid just in case you have a run away throttle.

My baja had the same problem. I put it up on a wooden box to free up the rear wheel. There are three holes on the governor arm where the spring from your throttle connect. I removed that spring & brought it to hardware store. Bought a bunch of similar springs that are the same length. Some tigher some looser, all the same length. You can also go on amazon and order kits of springs for you ride real cheap.. Use the new springs and try fitting it into 3 different holes of that gov swing arm. You will get the right fit sooner or later. Got mine to stop running wild at idle. Also GAINED 6 MPH!!

Is there an alternative bike with similar specs and frame etc? I've been looking for one for several months. I can't buy this in Europe/Germany over the normal sites because they don't offer international shipping and I can't find it on Ebay or Amazon etc...
Been watching a lot of your videos…lots of great info. I was just handed a Baja mb200…at least I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. Looks the same as your Coleman but the frame is different. Same 196cc engine that’s locked up. The bike was barely used and left sitting outside for a few years. So I got a new predator 212 non hemi for $150 and am getting ready to put it on there. It appears that it will bolt directly in place. I remember this bike being slow and I’d really like to have a bit more go…will the predator make it faster by doing nothing else? Or do I need to remove the governor? Mostly just want to ride some trails with my son, but occasionally I might wanna ride down to the store or just ride to the fishing hole…thanks!
Thanks! MB200 is a nice bike. The governor will definitely hold it back. If you don't want to do anything else throwing a zip tie in the governor spring will wake up the Predator like in the Predator free mods video. If you start spinning it faster it is recommended to upgrade the flywheel . ua-cam.com/video/y3pl7KiSTmY/v-deo.html
Watched that video and it was helpful. I’d like to see it go about 35 maybe….I think I’ll be happy with that for now, is the stock carb on the predator 212 good for that? It seems the Mikuni sticks out a bit and I’d be worried about taking a spill and breaking something.

Guess what just happened, the same coleman mini bike you have right now, when I left the black fuel choke on while the motorcycle was off, gas was leaking and as soon was I ride the mini bike, the motorcycle was caught on fire and now its ruined, is there any way you can send me some link options on Amazon I can buy to get the new engine. It can be the 212 predator.
Hey black 66 I got a mikuni but I put it on and the engine sounds like it’s going to blow up do you have any tips? I was thinking re jet Btw it’s on a brand new no mods at all predator 212
Ok so I removed the external governor, installed my Mikuni carb... tried your soldering but that didn't work so I ordered a new one. One question... it has a choke but now no fuel cut off?
So did you use the original cable and just modify it or did you actually use the cable that came in the kit and did you have to modify that cable ?? Any details would help us out, thanks for a awesome video !!!
Can you please tell me what the two pink tubes connect to? It seems you have them just dangling below the carb. Also, what about the tubing that connected to the exhaust?
So yeah I installed my mikuni I see their is a pin where the governer is my thing is pushed all the way down my question is I start riding my bike which is the same one you have and I go 3/4 throttle and the bike goes back and forth and slows down same carb thanks if you can answer back

When I start it it's runs but when I hit the throttle it doesn't do anything... But when I turn the choke off the wheel starts spinning... How do I make it normal
Can you please give me advice I installed a mikuni carb on a 200cc stock Coleman motor with a governor delete and swapped a 125 jet the throttle response is amazing but the idle is too high and I already adjusted the idle speed screw all the way out i don’t know what it may be
i have an issue on mine where when you crank it it full throttles and the throttle isnt engaged and then when you try to accelerate it slows down like the throttle needle is up when you start it and when you acelerate the needle goes down and it wont stop i have to hit the kill switch anyone know any solutions?
I really appreciate your videos and viewer engagement. I tried that soldering trick on my cable and can't get it to stick well. I get it on there, let it cool and when I pull the throttle it comes off. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks! Ya, you definitely want to get that thing to stick really good. Don't need that coming off while the engine is running. Use some paste flux on it and then let the iron sit on the cable tip until it gets really hot. That way some of the heat is in the cable and then apply the solder. That way it penetrates into cable as your applying the solder. . If you have a MIG welder or a flux core wire feed welder you can simply clamp the ground on the metal cable and then just tap the electrode on the cable really quick. It will leave an end on it. If you don't have that you can use a handheld propane torch to solder it on there too. just be careful not to overheat the cable. Sometimes it will get too hot for the solder. You could always just grab a proper length cable with an end already on it .
@@curtisbrown5254 Im not sure. I have never tried that. It has to be something that wont come off while the the engine is running or the engine might not be to happy.LOL

Hey Black66 you should have bought a Trailmaster MB200 or hurricane 200x in stead and and swapped the factory 196cc engine for a tillotson 212 and then installed a 12 front sprocket and done a full stage 1 performance upgrade and that is a high performance intake bigger main jet high performance exhaust and governor removal.
That's one I can still do later on.
Hell yeah can't wait to see more upgrades.
Thanks!! Ya, we have quite a bit more stuff we're gonna do to it.

Please read my channel description and disclaimers in the video's. I tell people not to do what I do. if you do, you do it at your own risk. This is what this channel is about. Testing different combinations and doing things most say I shouldn't. When building a throttle cable for a Mikuni from an old throttle cable, use an axle spacer from a slot car. Safety tip, when starting your minibike or go kart, always put the front against a wall or something solid just in case you have a run away throttle.

Are these bolts the same size for both the hisun and the tilly or are they different? The bolts thread in a couple of threads but then stop. I appreciate all the help you offer.

Nice learning new tricks
I heard some guys using fishing line weights on the end of their throttle cable which they then solder shut after they pinch them on.
There are a lot of different ways to do it. I like taking all of the governor hardware off. It makes the engine more clean-looking that way.
What happens if that clip falls off that round deal you took the arm off under the gas tank? Serious question will something catastrophic happen or no?
It won’t fall in there cause it’s has a clip stoping it from dropping
What did you do with your throttle cable? I did exactly what you did and now my cable sticks in WOT after taking the springs off. I don’t understand
This is a 196cc correct and will work with all stock Coleman motors?

Hey i put a new carb on and took the governor off and replaced the throttle now when i start my bike it just runs wide open and takes off by itself?
My baja had the same problem. I put it up on a wooden box to free up the rear wheel. There are three holes on the governor arm where the spring from your throttle connect. I removed that spring & brought it to hardware store. Bought a bunch of similar springs that are the same length. Some tigher some looser, all the same length. You can also go on amazon and order kits of springs for you ride real cheap.. Use the new springs and try fitting it into 3 different holes of that gov swing arm. You will get the right fit sooner or later. Got mine to stop running wild at idle. Also GAINED 6 MPH!!
An another thing when you were plugging up the whole you said you can use the sealer of your choice what is the name of sealer that you used an were can I get it at? My apologies for all the questions I'm new at this but can't wait to get this show on the road 😂

Hi, what are your thoughts about getting a bullet flywheel for this engine after getting a stage 1,2, or 3 performance kit. Do I need it?
Yes, a billet flywheel is definitely a good idea. Or at least one of the cast flywheels that is rated to 8500 RPM . They are inexpensive good insurance. I use one in the budget 212 build on the channel .
How did you get the original throttle cable to work I swear I did the exact thing and it binds and I get so much free play and half throttle
Maybe there is to much cable sticking out for the slide...
Any adjustments that would fix my issue or just replace with new throttle cable all together?
Hey man I've got basically the same ct200u-ex setup and I'm having trouble with it stalling would you have any idea why?
So did you use the original cable and just modify it or did you actually use the cable that came in the kit and did you have to modify that cable ?? Any details would help us out, thanks for a awesome video !!!
Modified the stock cable. You can solder a new tip on the end. Or zap the cable with a welder to put a new end on it.
Can you please tell me what the two pink tubes connect to? It seems you have them just dangling below the carb. Also, what about the tubing that connected to the exhaust?
So yeah I installed my mikuni I see their is a pin where the governer is my thing is pushed all the way down my question is I start riding my bike which is the same one you have and I go 3/4 throttle and the bike goes back and forth and slows down same carb thanks if you can answer back

i have an issue on mine where when you crank it it full throttles and the throttle isnt engaged and then when you try to accelerate it slows down like the throttle needle is up when you start it and when you acelerate the needle goes down and it wont stop i have to hit the kill switch anyone know any solutions?
@@Black66 Thanks. I ordered a proper length cable with the end on it. Out of curiosity, would a ball of epoxy work too?

Sweet! Oh ya for sure there are differences. Depending on if they have a torque converter or a jack shaft, How quick they get to top speed. some take forever. I've seen some have vented fuel tanks and some not, depending on the region that they were sold in. I think the carb jetting could be different on those versions. @@zacharyd9029 The cable should have about 2 1/4 inch of cable sticking out of the cable housing for a VM22
Blow up the engine already so we can see the predator in it 😂
