WESTMORELAND STATE PARK: A quick scamping trip to go visit a nice Virginia park with good hikes!

- We have a few days free so we go visit Westmoreland State Park. It has been a few months since we've been able to take our Scamp out so it was exciting to finally have an opportunity! Westmoreland State Park sits upon the Potomac River, the trails in the park take you through gorgeous wooded areas, but also take you to scenic views of the river from the banks as well as from cliff tops!
We stayed at Campground C which is primarily for tent camping, so it gave us the opportunity to do some dry camping. This is not something we've had much opportunity to do so it's a fairly new experience for us and one that we definitely enjoyed!
We borrowed a friend's Scamp for a trip to Colorado Springs. Family of 4 - we had a lot of fun with it. Thanks for posting!
Scamps are the best, I'm fully hooked. I've never been to Colorado Springs, I'm hoping to check it out ASAP. Somehow I only learned about Garden of the Gods within the last year, how that is possible is just beyond me. I can't wait to visit, have fun! ✌
The site on the road is perfect for familys with kids riding bikes makes it easy for Moms and Nanas to keep eyes on the kudos.

Cool video, just wanted to offer a bit of info on that hook in your campsite. It's a lantern hook. They seem to be pretty common in Virginia parks; I had to look them up the first time I stayed at Chippokes.

I grew up camping in Oak Grove at Harbor View back when it was a privately owned campground, and my parents eventually moved to Ebb Tide, so seeing you drive down route 3 was a bit surreal for me. We used to go to the beach at Westmoreland park all the time when I was a kid, too.

I've never actually camped at Harbor View, but I've driven back there and checked it out. It looks nice. We've got a seasonal spot at Monroe Bay campground, we're very lucky to have a site right not the water. We love that place, I might do a tour of MBC soon.
I think that the Northern Neck is an under appreciated area. I guess it's kind of a secret spot and I suppose it's kind of better that way.
