I want to thank you for taking the time to research every property. Your videos have opened up an entire new life for me as I plan to visit many of them myself. I had no idea they even existed. Your videos should be played in schools in Virginia. Thanks again.
I knew Percy "Buddy" Fines, Jr. He was a VDOT Right-of-Way Aquisition Agent and long time resident of King George County. My father used to be a member of a fishing club called the Fredericksburg Bassmasters with Buddy back in the mid to late 1970's. Buddy was a hunter and all around outdoorsman as well. He was a very nice man.
I think boyds hole is over by the campground to the left going down river 🤘🏼There’s a lot of trail to cover there for sure and the single track trails are great.
OFFICE HALL ... corner of 3/301 KG, that structure has been moved, it was where washington would do a horse chsnge and occasionaly spent a few nights there, it was the birthplace of the first(?) governor of VA, and many other historical things. The man who donated the land for KG lived across the highway from Office Hall. They go back to the 1600s. The brick house and brick smokehouse were moved down the property a while back to put in a gas station, they were supposed to be restored. If you could park on the road and fly yer drone around it maybe thru it, i heard the windows are now gone, it would for some sort of memory of what was. The structures are not too far from where you are at now. Last time i talked to anybody about it was the KG HISTORIAN mr LEE, that was a couple of decades back. Could you shoot whats left of it??? Mr lee was raised right down the road from Office Hall in Shiloh (the old lee store) next to Jersey. There were two structures built where the gas station sits now, one was torn down, it was like a "post office business center of sorts," and replaced with a home (aka office hall 3.0) which was an arson in about the 1990s or early 2000s! Thats when the two brick structures were moved by the developer. Love your channel. The northern neck is so fascinating to me so much early american history. Indian tribes and all. "HISTORYLAND."
P.S. the last home to sit on office hall was built around the late teens or early 1920s, and it looked like CALADON HOUSE on your thumbnail. Travelers considered it a landmark.
@@lamars2486 I actually have a video of it. You can search "Office Hall VA Travels" You shared some information I didn't know. May have to go back out sometime and visit again. Thanks!
