Opening with a song about Colin with Colin on lead guitar speaks volumes. THAT is a healthy relationship post-divorce. Lovely.
Th world is a better place for having Kathleen Edwards, such deeply honest rock music
She is GLOWING! She looks so happy to be performing again.
My first time experiencing Kathleen, and my first thought was that she glows. So glad that I stumbled across this.
Greetings from Southampton, England. Watched this when it was live and twice again since, and still wowed by the stellar performance of a singer on top form and the great musicianship of the entire ensemble. It’s great to have Kathleen back, the new album was well worth the wait and I’m guessing I’m not alone in praying it’s only the beginning of a new wave of albums in the years to come. After 17 years of listening to her back catalogue, there’s no sign of the quality of her live performances waning either. Simply stunning.
And Colin Cripps was still there. I am glad they remained friends.
That guitarist is unbelievable
he has been next to her for many years. so good together
Very cool! Awesome to see Mr Cripps on stage with Ms Edwards again. Killer.
It is great to see that they both seem to be at peace with it enough to make music together again!
@@matthew4694 --- especially on the opening when they do a song that's about them/him. Loved it when she delivers a line and he raises his eyebrows and they both smile and laugh.
“Cuz you can’t wrap it up in a pretty bow
Then take it all back when the cracks start to show”
Aaah there’s my girl. Kathleen has such a gift with lyrics. An ability to lay bare emotions most of us aren’t willing to acknowledge sometimes, let alone express so beautifully.
And I love Collin Cripps’ guitar work.
ETA it’s a joy to see you smiling so much and enjoying your music.
Whoever recorded and engineered this magic in a coffee shop is a genius. The band is amazing, but getting this out took love and care, so good job you!
Agreed, I'd be happy to listen to this as an album
I caught the live feed online rather than cross town. The patio was packed. So... good thing, with covid 19, and all.
There was some editing and engineering that buffed up the performance, but left out some things that I was glad not to have missed. The Facebook feed had problems. UA-cam worked fine.
As depressing as 2020 has been having KE back is one bright spot. Great performance!
I really don’t know how Kathleen manages to avoid losing her place in each song! The band is so freakin’ good, and adding steel guitar to the mix only makes it that much better! I’ve listened to “You’re So Hard on Everyone” about 14 dozen times already!”
So have I!
One of the finest singer songwriters the world has ever been fortunate enough to experience. I love being alive at the same time as Kathleen Edwards & the band. :)
Two of my favorite things: Kathleen Edwards and WXPN!
I'm so pleased to have found Kathleen Edwards and her fabulous music in the last 6 months, and just when I needed it most (why has it taken me so long?) It's not just the music though - the honesty, passion and humor in her performances are so refreshing to see. Thank you.
Listening to her music as my daily medicine 💖
It's so so beautiful her sound.
If my soul had a soundtrack to describe itself, would be Kathleen's music.
She's baaaaack
I'm actually choking up watching one of my very favorite musicians performing live again after many years thinking we might not ever be so blessed again. Her new album is stellar, I mean, has Kathleen ever written a bad song? Not to my knowledge. This is the best thing about 2020 by a long shot! Big love from Asheville, NC, Kathleen!
Just here to confirm that she has not written a bad song.
An absolute treasure. Times change, so do we. Sing about it!
One of my dreams is to be able to go to Quitters, have a coffee, a piece of cake, and be so lucky to give you a hug and tell you how much I admire you.
At 67 I still enjoy discovering (new to me) artists. I've been listening to more and more of Kathleen over the past few years, this performance cements her as a favourite, just fantastic. I share a lifetime of problems with anxiety and depression and it's hearing stories like Kathleen's that gets me through and of course great music.
The new album has been on repeat for days. Welcome back Kathleen :)
I saw Kathleen 2 days ago and she was fantastic, great voice, she feels her songs, good musicians, don't miss her
I had seen parts of this during the original broadcast but I guess I missed 'Hard on Everyone' - WOW, what an intimate, brave performance that blew me away. Never seen Kathleen look that vulnerable before. As always, the band is perfectly complimenting each other - great fills, great backup vocals.
I absolutely love her guitar players
She's amazing
In tears. Absolutely incredible 70 minutes of music
Fantastic performance, love the new album. Kathleen Edwards is a national treasure.
I stumbled onto this amazing forever 39 year old artist quite by accident five years ago, so glad I did. Not only is she lovely, she writes songs that tug at our hearts and get us down that long lonely highway late at night. So good to hear more wonderful songs.
My Lord....what an amazingly talented and beautiful soul...makes me want to pack my bags and hop on a plane and pledge my undying love to this lady!!! Bought the album.....I'm in love. X
My wife and I LOVE your new album Kathleen. We learn a lot about ourselves listening to your music. Thank you!
The Queen is back on her throne! ❤
It’s great to see and hear new music from Kathleen and even better to see her doing well and showcasing her amazing sense of humor
Thank you for a wonderful evening Here in Munich.
This is such a treat. I have loved this gal for a long time now.
The entire family loves her!!
Colin Cripps Too!!
What a treat this is!!
Everyone looks so well..oh and the sound..incredible!!
Vicki Reed hatchet was buried I guess. Mature solution.
It's amazing to discover quality music performance like this by accident and wonder, "WHY have I not heard of this woman before today?" Well, in part it's because the airwaves are owned by four or five multinational corporations which all have similar playlists and for the most part, what you hear on the radio is AUTO-TUNED CRAP performed by "artists" who would not dare to perform live in concert in an intimate forum without their technical crutches which cover up their lack of real musical chops. This lady ROCKS and it has made me smile to discover her and be reminded that there still are REAL musicians out there making real music for people who care about quality and artistry.
You don't have to discover her or other great music by accident. Listen to listener supported stations like XPN out of Philly and you'll discover all the great new music you could ever hope for. Peace & Love!
In addition to XPN, look up KEXP Seattle. The vault they have is almost random play. Almost everything is good and different. NPR Tiny Desk Concert is also a good one. Also check oput Q for the back catalogue they have.
Richard, me too! completely by chance....
I have to agree with Richard. I live in Kansas, and live in a cultural desert. I find my music I listen to on UA-cam
Last I heard she had bought a restaurant and gone on hiatus
Had the biggest challenge of my life last year when I lost the love of my life, your music was with me every time, just being at home, or crying on my motorcycle solo trips to ease the pain, but it was always been there, the release of this album just fills my soul of happiness and hope.. you wouldn't believe how thankful I'm for it
❤️❤️
Music can heal our soul, and is the best friend when you,re alone.Wish you fast recovering.Regards from a motorcycle rider and musician un Spain.
I am not a fan of Country Music and have never heard of Kathleen Edwards ....until now . And now that I have......WOW . What an amazing set this is and what a superb performer Kathleen is . Her voice , her musicianship , her presence , her whole persona . Fantastic . And what a superb band . I loved this and must have played Hard On Everyone at least 50 times in 3 days ! Thank you all for such a great show and good luck with the album . And Kathleen , to see someone bounce back from clinical depression in the way that you have is inspiring to see . And by the way , your hair that you have had done specially for this looks great . Good luck to you all and keep safe .
It's not country. More like alt-bluesy-folky-rock, if you had to "categorize" it. It's KE.
Goodnight California- still sublime (even without the fiddle). Colin’s soloing in that song is some of the most tasteful ever to my ears. 👍👍
OK - just finished watching the whole show. Such a joy from end to end! The writing is great. And that band sound! You guys playing together always make me think of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. Not because you sound like them, but you both have such a distinctive vibe/sound that is unique and your own. I hope the new beginning is going to lead to lots more.
I love her voice, her lyrics, her energy. I hope she never falls prey to self-doubt again and keeps writing and performing. Go Kathleen! ❤ can't wait to see her at Jazz Fest 😍
Best time I've had all pandemic!
you go, girl. Damn. Looking so good and sounding better. I can't wait to see you live and in person.
It's so great to have you back looking happy and sounding wonderful as ever!
One of my favourite voices!
Love all the new material, the older songs and Comes a Time. My goodness I treasure that one. Wonderful to see you all honour that one.
There's not much I want to remember 2020 by, but this is one. What a great performance, and a stellar batch of songs. Come on Kathleen!
The best live stream concert is all over the world, recently in covid......thank you Kathleen Edwards!
In dark times, the greatest acts of rebellion are love and joy.
That's such a beautiful thought...😎❤❤❤
You got that right.
I literally happened upon Kathleen on her ACL performance in highschool. She's still one of my favorites. This is so great!
Same here. In March 2008, just after Asking For Flowers release. Tuned in ACL rerun to watch Allison Krauss, then Kathleen came on and blew me away. Saw her live in Indianapolis the next month on the AFF tour, with the now infamous bus parked behind the venue. Saw her 6 times 2008-12, then no more since. Having TF out and seeing her so happy is just great, made my summer in CV year. She's a real person, a people's musician who has fabulous talent.🎶♥️
@@thomasbullock3894 nice! Hope I get to see her. Colin Cripps is also one of my favorite guitarists.
Holy socks, where have you been all my life? You've got an incredible voice and a monster songwriting talent. I'm so glad I caught you "the second time around". Stay well.
Just discovered Kathleen listening to the radio last week. Can't get "Hard On Everyone" out of my head. The other songs I'm hearing are phenomenal, too!
She is soo pretty
HOLEE MOLLEE that slide solo on Hard on Me is very Lindley-esque
It’s sounds great with the acoustic guitar piano, slide, and fender that’s all you guys need.
Well I'm 66yrs.old,can't sleep it's 10:45pm E.S.T. hoping to find something relaxing, this comes across UA-cam and I can't possibly stop watching.Thank you for coming back Your music is absolutely amazing.
Try soft place to land by Kathleen. Or hockey skates
Thank you Kathleen Edwards for voice that reaches the space over the Ottawa River on a clear becalmed sunny day in summer. Thank you gentleman in the band for going there with her.
Love her voice and the songs and the band and everything.
Kathleen, I am so glad you're back....I missed your voice and your exceptional songwriting
:Love the guitarist singing into the pickups
Legendary
I don't know how many times I've listened to this now. What a crack band! They amply demonstrate this fact even while not getting in the way of the front-woman. And, likewise, she doesn't get in their way, either. They're all devoted to the song, every one of them. Oh, yeah, I had to buy her entire catalog and I've only done that with a few artists.
Kathleen you are the very best . I think that you could bring laughter and tears to stones and rocks . Love you.
Good to see Marty McSorley back in action.
😂
From Santiago, Chile, I love her beautiful songs; congratulations Kathleen!
I have been stopped cold several times listening to singer songwriters….and I had to know more about Kathleen Edwards being brought in by Spotify on My Daily Mix 1. What a talent….I was too busy raising kids in the 2000’s ….and catching her now on the other side as she returns to music. Grew up on James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, The Eagles, and later in life loved Carole King, Mary Chapin Carpenter, …and Kacey Musgraves, and Maren Morris,….and have grown to love John Prine, Guy Clark, Todd Snider, Josh Ritter, and The Lumineers. Love Songwriters! Kathleen ….you are a great songwriter. Your songs stopped me dead in my tracks yesterday….and sent me down the rabbit hole of discovery of what I have missed the past 15 years watching your performances on You Tube. Hold on to your Joy and Your Band! You all are extraordinary. Looking forward to seeing you live.
Almost 53 and similar story...
Making me smile like the old days, great music!
Wow.
Maine USA here. Have to find my way north soon to see rising stars Kathleen Edwards and her talented band.
I went to the cafe last Saturday to get the cd, and some treats, while visiting a friend, cottaging in Constance Bay. While waiting in line out front I caught a glimpse of her red hair and mask buzzing about on cafe duties. It is a very busy and successful place.
A legend. 4 chords and a lot of heart.
I sure would love to have this video on blue ray disc. Awesome music, true musicians 😃😀
Thank you Kathleen, you look happy and it’s great to see you and Colin performing together!
With Jim Bryson also included.🎶👏
Great songs, Glenfern (Pretenders-like) being my favorite one. Keep on rockin´! Best wishes from Munich/Germany. Rudy
Loving this and the joy on Kathleen's face - so good to see a wonderful talent return :)
Been a fan from the beginning. Never seen you look happier. Fabulous!
Sounding better than ever. You must be so proud.
WOW! Such a powerful performance. You guys are tight as hell!
Saw Ms Edwards about 10- 12 years ago and she and her band were great.
First weekend of July 2022, seeing Kathleen at Mariposa, singing in for John Prine, as so many amazing artists were doing .. and then seeing her play with her band, was the highlight of 22 for me. This month I brought the album out again and I'm listening to it every day. I love your songs Kathleen. Thanks for this performance. Feels so good!
run, hockey skates, ashes to ashes, feelings fade....damn....vocals from another planet....guitar work so dang superlative without comparison. I drove all day to those songs...thanks. look us up and please come to California.
Every song on this album is stellar.
A fantastic pedal steel solo from Aaron on 'Hard On Everyone' (shame the camera-person didn't pick it up).
What a great band - all of you ... and Kathleen herself is stupendous, both as a writer, musician and singer.
Pretty awesome...great to see her joy playing music again....
Great show, so glad you posted this! Love the new album!
Love her intensity. hell YES
Absolutely sounded great!
It takes time to make music that the angels can hear
The world has missed you, thank you for this great music
Thanks for re-posting this ! Appreciate it.
Always loved kat edwards. From her first release up to the present. Welcome back kat. Missed you
Your guitar sound is great and your Kathleen voice is beautiful, fresh and natural like water coming down from the Canadian mountains.. Gracias desde España
THANK YOU!!! This show was fantastic and it makes me SO happy I can watch/listen again! I really needed this today. Thanks again!
I love this so much!
sooooo good! made my day
I'm so happy to find this today :' )
I’m so glad you’re back!
So great to hear this.
Simple Math must be one of the most beautiful songs she has written so far. Can’t listen to it without crying my eyes out. Simply amazing.
Love it! So great to see you again!
Fantastic!
I've known you about for so long, but have never seen you perform. So fun to watch an artist get such joy out of singing and emoting the feelings of their songs. Pretty thrilling!
