Kathleen Edwards is best musical artist that came to my attention this year. The lyrics, voice and musical production is excellent. Perhaps like her Ottawa-Nashville connection, I grew-up in Michigan but family roots remained in Tennessee, i.e. Great Lakes to the Grand Ole Opry. Moreover, I am excited to read all the great reviews about her and the Band. Hope to see Kathleen live in 2024.
Its nice to see Kathleen is still playing great music - I'm English and her Failer album impressed me back in the day. I wasn't sure if she was still on the scene. I spotted this vid on youtube and really enjoyed hearing my old favourites from Failer along with some great new stuff. Nice to see you again Kathleen, Great concert.
2 of my favorite Artists at the same event. Kathleen Edwards and Jenny Lewis. Wish that I had been there. Seeing Jenny Lewis in early 2024, and always wishing for the opportunity to hear Kathleen Edwards in person. This is what real music sounds like.
I remember coming out of Manhattan heading home to CT and hearing Hockey Skates for the first time. I think it was 2002 or 3. I used to play volleyball every Sunday over in Liberty Park in Jersey City. Every time I hear that song I can remember every little detail if that day perfectly. It's so weird how just a song can put such a time stamp on a particular place and time. Thoes were the days.😊 PS: I have failer on cd and would love to get it on record!❤❤❤❤
Great performance. I am in Europe but my brother loves in Canada. Hopefully someday I will be around when you play. The voicecrack in Glenfern in the first sentence gave me an emotional shiver.
Goodness me, what a talented and modest musician, the lyrics, rhyme, voice and the arrangements from the rest of guys in the band make a perfect blend of lovely music. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful performance.
Love the songs and your performance. And the slide guy helps a lot. I was really hoping to see Jim and Colin too. When you all get together it is just such an amazing band sound. That Quitters show you taped (which I assume was part of the album launch) was awesome. It recaptured the sound and feel of Building 55 and Failer and Back to Me. I hope we get to see that line up again.

Hockey Skates is the first Kathleen Edwards song I remember hearing and I was hooked. A true talent.
Dont quit Kathleen. Your too good!

That wailing pedal steel coupled with those chord progressions in “Simple Math” is my idea of country/folk perfection…….that ethereal sound.
She’s brilliant - lyrically, musically, emotionally
