Your hair has the appearance of locs faster on shorter hair + by the time you get a little length the awkward stage has passed and honestly that awkward stage looks so fun and cute in shorter hair in my opinion…
I equally do not have the patience for wigs and extensions. I just wear my locs and go!
I also romanticize the retie process 😅 it's therapeutic 😍
Me to it a whole therapeutic process mask, oil , leave in and bonnet
I found my people ☺️
I used to go all out styling my sisterlocs when they were shorter for special occasions but not so much since I hit butt length lol. Nowadays I put on a fascinator or headband and call it a day lol
I totally understand the desire for shorter locs. It’s so freeing!
My hair was about shoulder length when I started but shrunk quite a bit after. The loc bob stage was my absolute favorite! It been 3 and a half years and I’m well passed where I started. I love it but it’s hot af in the summer. The styling options are better with more length but still. I know I’ll cut it back to a loc bob one day maybe at my 10 year mark. 😆
This! I’m definitely doing things differently than with my first loc set and I’m loving it. I think that once I decide to go long I’ll really commit to it, but right now my heart isn’t in it loll.
When I had short 2” microlocs it took about 7 months -12 months max
My locs were started when my loose hair was bra strap length, I’m almost at two years and I feel like it has fully locked so I think the time line is the same. (The shrinkage was definitely insane though😭)
Your hair is so beautiful!
Thank you 💕
your makeup is so pretty. 😍
I'm alright with an imperfect grid 🥂
I’m dying to see how full and juicy your hair gets as it gets longer and you keep chopping it 😩😂 lol it’s ok I’ll wait until you’re ready to leave them alone lol! ❤️
Haha I appreciate the support queen 💕
My micro locs are to my butt now, and I would say they are locked. My ends are well 95% of my ends are not loc'd. I will cut them this summer about 3-6 inches.
I became fully locked by year 3, with some areas that did not cooperate fully until year 4, but that was due to multiple textures and starting with 7 to 9 inches of hair. I definitely experienced significant shrinkage, but it's all good. I have kept 2 to 3 inches cut off since year 5, but now I don't know what to do with my hair. The back is past the bra strap even after trimming every year or so, but I do need a cut! '
I should try 'romanticizing' re-tie process, cuz I'm currently dreading starting. It might be pms draining my energy tho. lolol
Hii
Do you have 4c hair?
And how many locs do you have in?
Heyy I have a blend of 4c and 4b, but mainly 4c. And I have about 570. Started with 577, but combined a few and lost a few.
