Beautiful! Love how your parts are neat and you tailor it to the density of the client’s hair. I’m in Waldorf and will be reaching out to you to start my microlocs process.
Yours are the absolute neatest and attention to detail that I’ve seen! Thanks for caring about the integrity of your clients hair Beautiful Shardel.. I’ll book my appointment yet 🎉🎉🎉
My hair is similar thickness and density as her hair. I went in for a consultation and was told that when I leave my hair would look stringy and I would not like it because of the freshness of the style. I thought that was odd and seeing this beautiful head of locs I am sure she was lying and full of B.S. I guess seeing my thickness and length she tried to make me scared of getting my hair done by her. I am so glad she never touched my head.
Honestly , I don't think she was tryna get out of doing it. Most people that have micro Locs or have seen them know that there is a "plucked chicken " stage at first lol until they fluff out. I believe that is what she meant that you may not like that straight up looking at your scalp all over at first.
Love your work! Couple questions: 1. Is there a particular reason you section off such a small area for the front area ? 2. Do you know about what size you make your parts/squares 1/8inch or 1/4inch etc.? 3. For the thinner areas of a head (edges or nape) would you recommend making the box a bit bigger or add a little extension for strength?? 4, Does it matter if the parts aren’t brick layered? From the video it seems like your parts are stacked on top of each other, not bricked. However that could just be the angle. Thanks!
Thank you so much! 1. Not a specific reason but I do like to work with a smaller section so I can gage sizing for the density in that area better. 2. I do not measure them. I size them according to the hair density of the area I am in 3. Yes. 4. They are not brick layered. To me, it doesn't matter. They are so small that they will fall exactly where they should. With that being said, If a client requests brick layering I would do it. 😊
Hi!! I'm trying to learn doing micro locs and my question is do you braid the base B4 twisting? It doesn't look like you did but I would like to be certain. Thx Great video btw 🔥
For people like me with thin hair, would you recommend this parting? And also if I only want it temporary is retie the hair a good idea? Thanks for your response, love from France 🇫🇷
I didn't catch is it starting as a 3 part braid or is it a full twist all the way down? Her work is amazing, I'm going to lock my hair this fall so they can be ready for the summer!
Hi I love your work! I’m a new loctician and working to perfect my technique. I see that these dang mannequins aren’t part friendly at all. I end up making my parts too small or just off base. Do you have any recommendations?
You are my inspiration. I love your work. I going to try this method. The only question I would like to ask is,do you ever do micro loc braids with extensions.
I decide on rotations depending on their hair density. Holes are possible because these are started with twist... The key is knowing how to correct that issue if it happens.
I would suggest not doing that because it’s gonna take your hair an extra amount of time to loc, which will cause more slippage. Which in turn would just cost you more money. Maybe grow your natural hair out a bit and have a consultation to see what a Loctician that does sister locks would suggest.
I believe it's called an interlocking tool. www.amazon.com/Interlocking-Dreadlocks-Sisterlock-Maintaining-Dreadlock/dp/B07Y9WN2NQ/ref=sr_1_5_pp?crid=21E0S5N6ZIPF2&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-PcxRHNAZ6vC7MiRDPaTvacx2Ls_mp9PuokhigB6MegIoi2VTYJEhnNMzF8gxgWPTOGYcjV_QRJh8K8z15qi7QguRZwv1Cil83fVnNqNzPm2EFFmyQw3XH7kueXy16GZ7N8qDdbzACA4pMikPC5y6DGhZzpfyey2j-Ch4j7qIZavcstbN2Z5z-klQne7cYEBZkB3C55Da7nPIymRQu_yaT2R150egMpmH6hX9yd3wVfMTUzp8ZlHlfBglu-s_ojCNWI_Tll0xofeMnpDisPwn9BkIR6Lmci9uNvpw-9zybZsv0oNuEZRZh0gcLDdHsojcZdNiufFpZ8-P1eeqhgRkLYSIBoa4Ca6Gful6xau7PIMTYzUualpf_rNCDW-7IbHuMgtPDVvsqEFF4tnIc64N8hEj1jcJBzZ8Vn0SW8cuxykjpRf3equQhrikIgWjSAv.zm4KbfLZwqiwBzVqt3hh4F6xJU6EoodXN_kE-Ioqj7Y&dib_tag=se&keywords=interlocking+tool&qid=1735446269&sprefix=interlocking+tool%2Caps%2C142&sr=8-5
Looks so good i want this but im not excited about doing them. Do you think two strand from the scalp is better than a braid from the scalp. Last time i did mine i did two strand twist. This time i am thinking of braiding my hair first.
It's really dependent upon how Im feeling and how dense the clients hair is. The best way I can break up the dense areas normally determine what type of grid I do. 😊
Another great install. The natural hair, no extensions, looks amazing!
Her thickness is on another level 😮 WOW
❤ Your client has such beautiful thick hair!

When you add extension do it cut your hair? And when you wash your hair is there any unraveling?
Thank you so much! 😊
No I do not cut my clients hair... Sometimes they will slip but I just put them back in afterwards.
I love watching your install videos! Are you able to post more re-tie videos of micro locs with out extensions?
TY so much! 😊 Yes I will definitely be doing more of those!

Beautiful 💕. I have fine textured 4c hair. Please do a video on an install for my hair type. Do you have videos on braidlocs install?
Thank you! I have a video with braid loc extensions. In the new year I have a few installs coming up for braidlocs without extensions.😊

It looks like she braided the bottom and then twisted the rest
Gorgeous work, its taking me 16 plus hrs for my installs. Are the any pointers to decrease the time?
Thank you so much! I think the more you do it the easier it gets and the faster you move. Prep is essential

Are you able to get sister locs on relaxed hair? I want to get them so badly.

What is the tool called that you are using to interlock?
