How To Replace N54 BMW Temperature Sensor
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 гру 2022
- This video goes over how to replace an N54's coolant temperature sensor. Typically the first sign of this failure is when the radiator fan immediately goes on at maximum rpm and you'll have a 2EE6 code without a check engine light. Make sure that your engine is nice and cold before attempting to replace the sensor. Failure to do so, may result in serious burns.

N52 engine on a e70 (x5) here...triggered a CEL, code was the 2ee6...looking at the sensor noticed coolant white residue from the oil housing..so this sensor going out may have spared me a nasty coolant leak surprise while driving. Good vid.
Oof, that could have been bad!
Great stuff. I just got this code after having another shop un-fuck the last shops work. Drove on MHD stock map for over 100 miles without any codes. Moved up to Stage 2 and sent it a little bit and the 2EE3 code came up also keeping me from getting into higher rpm.
Hopefully replacing the sensor solves your issue as well.
having the same problem. did replacing the sensor fix it?
@@pianimeplayeranimeonpiano5153 it did for me. However, a faulty oil condition sensor can cause these symptoms too, oddly enough.
@@FoulNews did you replace the oil sensor too? or did just the coolant sensor did the trick?
@@pianimeplayeranimeonpiano5153 the coolant sensor did the trick for my car. I have a friend who had the same issue, but we ended up replacing the oil condition sensor as well after the problem still persisted and it hasn't come back for him since.
if these are damaged, can it say that your engine is overheating when it’s really not?
Yes!
i changed mine on my n54, and but i still have this code : 2EA1 - BSD, Message; oil condition sensor: Missing.
Can this sensor also cause things like heat to get cold when driving, after replacing my oil cooler gasket, my car cabin heat will be warm/hot when on idle as soon as I drive it will go cold I’ve got all air out of system it’s only stop heat when driving ever since I replaced the gasket
It's unlikely to cause that. I'd recommend re-bleeding the system.
@@FoulNews ive bleed the system more than 20 times ive flushed it 6 times.. even flushed the heater core.. ive even used a compressor tool to suck all waterpipes flat then put coolant in done this 3 times still no solve.. might sell it and get x5m annoyed with this problem on 3 series, bmw cannot find the problem either
See your videos popping up alot lately..you in NJ area? 🤔
I'm glad to hear that the videos are getting recommended! I was in NJ, but have since moved to FL.
@@FoulNewswhat part of Florida I'm in central by deland
I recently got mine, HOWEVER, it didn´t fit. Well technically it did in the head, but the pin where the connector is going over is on the other side of the sensor?? I can´t turn the connector either, otherwise it will break. Anyone else got this issue? It is the TS10270 aswell.
During bleed do i leave igniton on for ten mins ?
Yes, you'll need to leave ignition on. You should use a minimum of a 6A battery charger while it bleeds if you aren't sure if your battery is healthy enough to perform the procedure.
@@FoulNews thank you. How do i know it's complete ?
@@sniperwolf786 No prob! It'll shut off by itself after 10 - 15 mins. It typically takes 12 mins, if I recall correctly.
@@FoulNews cheers appreciate this. Thanks again ♥️
@@sniperwolf786 No prob! Good luck with the repair!
It still throws up the code
Where’s the golf cart?
Coming back to the channel soon. I recently started a business and order fulfillment + product development has taken up just about 100% of my time. However I do plan on having part 2 out by sometime next week.
