    I really enjoy your reviews as informative and educational as they are and I have learned a lot especially with the 2024 as I picked up a 24 Denali 3500 long box dually in mid August and I love it. The question I have is why would one tow a large, heavy trailer at 80 mph fuel economy be damned! With that being said, I really love the reviews as they are so informative……… Thank You

    We just ordered this exact same truck, and it will be here this week. Can't wait. Thanks for the review.

    We did Utah's 5 national parks a few summers ago and it was amazing. We will probably head back to Moab this summer.

    I’ve driven up highway 6 in Spanish fork canyon towing many times. That climb is no joke.

    The AT4x is the best all around truck, you nailed it. If you have a truck you enjoy driving, love to look at, and can tow, your winning.
    Dont disrespect the Travel Trailer. Dont skimp on the hitch. I personally tow our 39 foot mesa ridge with a hensley arrow hitch and it keeps it straight and true. Pro pride is other manufacturer of the no sway hitch.

    JB, thanks for the reviews. I enjoy watching!
    The camera does stay on now. One of the first things I noticed moving from my 2020 DNali to 2024 DNali U.
    Do you think the exhaust brake has improved or still the same? In your reviews way back you inflated your tires for towing. Did you do that for this drive?

    Hey JB definitely appreciate the MPG info on the 2024 2500 AT4X I was wondering if you had a 1 ton single wheel or Dooley. Would it do any better or the same MPG

    I don't miss DEF but I never thought it was an issue. That's pretty good mileage for the area you are towing. Between your shorts video and this one we are dying for summer to get here for our Utah NP tour! And I am NOT buying another 3/4 ton! Maybe, lol!

      I don’t care so much about the expense but it is messy to deal with. If you come all the way out here you better hit me up bro, might even go camping with you if the timing works out!

    I've got a 2024 2500 LT 4x4 crew cab and looking at getting a momentum 320g. Curious on your thoughts of that pairing. In my eyes, it's really the biggest I would go with that truck.

    Hey JB, you seem to have some good connections with several dealers, maybe someone with GM as well. I have a question I'm trying to get answered that no one I've asked has been able to answer. Why can't you get a 2024 2500HD AT4X in Downpour Metallic? It literally doesn't show up as a build option if you select AT4X and it's marked as unavailable if you look on the options grid showing all the trims and available options.

    I run the same truck. I keep exhaust break off till I'm about to need it then down shift 1 gear and then turn it on. This allows you keep the rpms lower with the exhaust break on. It keeps the trans from down shifting twice and rpms going way up. specially if you touch the break pedal at all it will down shift and rpms jump to high for my liking. Try it tell me what you think.

    • @southfork67
      @southfork67 7 місяців тому

      The exhaust brake on the L5P Duramax doesn't do much of anything unless you're over 2000-2500 RPM. It's designed to be used without having the trans in manual and it will only activate after a light brake activation on a downgrade. I don't care for that as an old school trucker but if you let it works as GM designed, it works well.

    I don't care for these mirrors in my HD ZR2. They are really big and I still can't adjust them to my liking. Seems like there is some magnification or optical games they play. Always seem to have a little blind spot and backing never seems to be squared up. Cameras and review camera help.
    Don't like the mirrors on my 22 ZR2 either, but the ones on my wife's 23 Tahoe seem to be the best......wtf
    I like the mirrors on my previous Duramax best, without the bells and whistles.

    I did my first tow with my 24 HD ZR2. Kept getting trailer connected/disconnected message in the DIC. Everything is secure in plug, trailer lights and brakes always worked, so think it's something in computer. Guys with the 1500 ZR2s have experienced the same.
    The electronics in these 22-24 rigs are janky.

      On mine the trailer brake kept connected/disconnected, was the trailer break module. GM has a new design complete with new part#

    • @rsbreeze
      @rsbreeze 6 місяців тому +1

      @majorpayne51 seen others report the same. Dealer put it on their trailer simulator and they said it tested fine. Since then, got a service park brake message that came on and then off and hasn't come back. Probably have to bring it back. I'm just gonna tell them I want the brake module replaced.

    My 18yr old Duramax gets 11.4mpg towing 14k lbs And no DEF 6speed) 🧐. Now you have the 10speed right.? Mileage should be (GM fault) a hell of a lot better than 9mpg .

    I have the gas AT4. Seats are small, hard & uncomfortable. Lumbar is minimal to the point of worthless & seat tilt at max setting ends up with the seat almost flat, with minimal left support. Big blind spots at windshield corner posts. Tilt steering travel is limited. Truck rides really rough. For $90k off the lot, very disappointed.

    You were not using the exhaust brake correctly. You just have to activate it. There are two settings and a certain way to do it. Read the manual on how to operate it. you were operating it incorrectly. Just like the adaptive cruise control, if you read the manual, you would’ve known that it adjusts based on towing a trailer, when you combine that with the exhaust brake, it wont use the brakes unless very necessary.

    Wow… 9mpg… that’s pretty low in new diesel Trucks! Great Video enjoy!!
