    I love seeing women use it to receive abundance. I don't see anything wrong with this type of exchange as long as the respect and consent is there. Men like to observe beauty. And women like to be admired like masterpieces. Let's play and enjoy it xo

    This was really poetic and refreshing. I like the idea of turning the male gaze around and using it towards our own advantage. There is something about glamour being both magical and expressive. Thanks for making this video and sharing your thoughts.

    I agree with you absolutely .I love to feel glamourous ,I love my mystery and feeling alluring and powerful . I am known to myself and unknown by others ,I accept it and sometimes enjoy it .I am sure that I have heard it said within art circles ,that a painting or a photo of a woman ,when her eyes gaze into the distance ,allows her to be sort of possessed by the male viewer ,dominated ,owned .A photo or painting when her eyes look directly at the artist or into the camera , has otherwise been regarded as too bold , too penetrating ,too challenging . These ideas ,are understandable and a bit of a of a nonsense really .I adore being observed and appreciated and I love being creative with it ,I am very much in favour of less is more ,of having the male observer use his imagination fill in what he cannot see . We can have fun with our creativity and play with paradox ,I love it . So too ,I love it when you say "Let feminine glamour be a worthy opponent to the male gaze (as a patriarcal weapon )" I am throughly enjoying your series ,so very refreshing ,exciting provocative and honest . Thank you .

    I agree wholeheartedly! I absolutely despise this demonization of the male gaze - or men in general. Most of these women advocating that the male gaze is objectifying (and inherently negative) haven't thought the implication of taking away the male gaze through: They'd find themselves in shock if suddenly they wouldn't be perceived at all. Because most of these women are heterosexual, so not being sexually perceived at all would also not be in their best interest.
    I adore men. I love every thing about masculinity and I feel special, admired and sexually seen, even fulfilled, when men admire me. It is an exchange: They get to look at something they perceive as beautiful, thralling and enticing, and I get to ravel in their entanglement with their masculine desires. Giving and receiving. Sadly nowadays everything has to be political...

      Very true

    • @RibasNath
      @RibasNath Рік тому +13

      It's not desire itself that is criticized, it's how we're only more seen and validated if a man can idealize us ('a version of us that the average man finds ideal to bring himself happiness' - this is the concept behind it, keep that in mind while reading my comment) and how women who don't fit that ideal, even if they're amazing people who do great stuff in life, become near invisible. Also, how it makes us analyze and change ourselves based on a lens that is not our own. These are the reasons why a lot of women have been questioning it for decades.

    This comment isn't a challenge, I've watched & enjoyed several of your videos, but it's an opportunity to expand the conversation:
    As a biological man who employs traditionally "feminine" hallmarks of glamour quite often (makeup, drama, & an overall more suggestive/indirect way of visual expression, not a traditionally more masculine "This is me, take it or leave it."), I do wonder if women sometimes look down on supposed "feminine" men because they are utilizing the tools "FOR" women.
    What I'm saying is that biological women may feel threatened or slighted (perhaps unconsciously) because the tools from THEIR toolbox are being utilized.
    Of course this is all nonsense, and I think you'd agree that the tools of glamour, whatever they may be, don't "belong" to anybody, but it's something I've thought about... I'm not speaking so much from a place of bad experiences or feeling rejected by women because of my choices, but this is more theoretical musing on my end.

    • @HeavenSentHoney
      @HeavenSentHoney  3 роки тому +15

      I ascribe to the idea that glamour belongs to the feminine “house”, rather than to the biologically female woman. I believe the masculine and feminine can be utilized by their opposites. I believe in the anima and animus. I believe art and creation comes from experimentation with the opposite sex’s “tools” and becoming comfortable and familiar with our counterpart’s existence within us.

    • @HeavenSentHoney

      I believe many women simply prefer a more masculine forward man. If the feminine in him is present it’s not usually visual, but more latent in their demeanor, thoughts, expressions. It would take a very specific kind of girl to accept that level of femininity in a man, not because women feel threatened - a man could never be a woman - but because physical presentation is linked to sexual attraction, and it’s simply what most women prefer. It is biological and cultural.

      I appreciate your thoughtful responses. Speaking my language in that part of my background is in Jungian psychology. To expand upon my prior messages, I was having a conversation earlier regarding what I perceive as an atypical (but I wouldn't have it any other way) quality in me: When I observe the Other, qualities I admire, it's not often immediately clear to me where admiration starts & absorption stops. "I like her lipstick...would it look good on me? She's very elegant...maybe I want to cultivate that too?" I think for many people, the divide between Self & Other is perhaps more apparent, especially along socially constructed gender lines. @@HeavenSentHoney

      @@HeavenSentHoney A word that really comes to my mind here is intent. I think women can find "feminine" aesthetic choices that biological men make as nonthreatening & perhaps even enticing if they discern a "masculine" intent behind the actions. I DO think we are allowed a lot of license here to define these concepts for ourselves, but it's enriching & to our advantage to understand the larger culture. So for me, my relationship to masculine intent and makeup is that I am VERY results oriented. Not to say that women aren't. But much of the process is "What does this product DO?" as opposed to "How does this make me FEEL?" But I will say, your prior video where you talked about Shiseido Eudermine is a great exception to this rule. That product, everything from its presentation in the bottle, scent, texture...It's a more sensual, sensorial experience, and I'm so glad that as a man I've not been blunted to being tuned into such factors. I love Serge Lutens, by the way, a huge inspiration to my aesthetic and philosophies around beauty, glamour, etc.

    • @HeavenSentHoney
      @HeavenSentHoney  3 роки тому +7

      I think your prioritization of an objects function or purpose over how it makes you feel is a very masculine trait. It's interesting (on the subject of makeup) that products are sold as something that makes the wearer FEEL better, yet its FUNCTION is vastly more crucial, as makeup's goal is to change the way you feel through its function: the illusion of shaping the face. Masculinity seems to unveil the "HOW" or "WHY" of the very feminine "FEELING" or "PHENOMENA".
