12:03 "femininity" instagrammers who think elegance is just knowing etiquette and cosplaying a politician's wife could take notes on this 😭 all jokes aside, this video was really interesting. I thought elegance was just knowing how to blend in and, consequently, adapting yourself to typical expectations of what a valuable person is, since that's the impression I get from elegance content.

This!! Most of that type of content feels so contrived
This video completely understands the essence of elegance in my opinion :)

The way you speak is elegant, no vocal fry or "likes" and "ums". That's a feat for the modern age!

(This is before I watch the video.)
I think the essence of elegance, especially feminine elegance, is it's rythm. Slow, continuous, and steady, never fast and abrupt(unless for a calculated theatrical effect).
Many are wearing elegance as a costume without embodying its essence first, and it looks odd. Some are rushing to spend their life savings to "look" the part, only to be met with dissatisfaction when they see this foreign being they don't relate to in the mirror. The nail polish debate cracks me up.
I believe mastering this rythm first is key. The other stuff becomes an add-on.
    (After)
The distinction between Grace and Elegance is truly an interesting one. I wonder if the above would suit Grace more?
I do not believe Grace is an aspect one is born with, but one can make it seem like so. (but perhaps that' my ignorance talking)
Grace seems more natural ... like the natural state of the rythm mentioned.
Elegance seems more concrete, complex and connected ... a careful carving of the rythm.
Sensuality is somewhere in the middle ... where the rythm is sort of like flowing like a river, no predictable shape yet has a destined destination.
Thank you for those who read my nonsense, love you

I considered that a serendipitous event in my life, I learned some life-changing knowledge from your channel that is helping me shape my identity. I really appreciate all the efforts that you put into your work. You are truly an inspiration in this tasteless era🥰💖

I have always thought that elegance was the perfect fusion of form and function that allowed for natural imperfection in a beautiful way like wabi sabi. However, it was fascinating to see you lay that concept out almost like a blueprint of that concept.
I might add that selectiveness when done correctly turns into creation because it elevates past curation and into fusion which makes it art as it progresses to the highest level.

First, I love your videos- my gratitude for you and what you’re doing is exponential. To your point on elegance….
A neighbor of mine in San Francisco put a box of books out on the curb one day and the book sitting on top had this beautiful drawing of an octopus, and I noticed the binding of the book was fairly unique. It was an open back binding, and it had the title in the back as well, as if someone ripped it off and wrote the title in blue ink. I understood that design choice once the book sat on my bookshelf. One can still find this unique hardcover edition online and when you do, Order it.
I haven’t forgotten. I’m talking to your point on elegance. Stay with me. Keep up everybody. This is good. It is a cookbook that was created by a gentleman who was stuck for lack of a better word in the city of Venice Italy while his wife was there on business he was there for so long that he had basically seen everything there was to see, and he developed the habit of Going each afternoon to a different “bocarro” Which is probably spelled differently, but it is basically A neighborhood bar that is most popular the frequented by other people in the service industry restaurant workers Café workers bartenders either after the shift or before their night shift. These little joints are not real flashy usually a door in a wall, small little spots, kind of tucked away, really known only by the locals. They’re known for their simplicity. There’s several little appetizer items that are extremely simple but absolutely delicious that contain maybe 3 to 5 Max items in the little recipe for that appetizer and the drinks are cheap and the bartender makes about five or six different drinks so you can see why bartenders and service people like to go there.
That’s not the elegant part necessarily but trust me it’s coming.
The author was a chef or someone who worked in the food industry in London, and he did end up opening a restaurant in London with the same name Octopus after this cookbook was such an incredible success. The book itself is beautiful. Some may say it’s elegant. it’s backstory is written such that you just root for this guy and you want to know what his food tastes like. The photography of the food as well as some cartography shots and Venice itself, although not overdone it’s quite beautiful as well. The recipes yes the recipes now we’re getting to the elegant part.
I’m sure he’s not the only chef to have said this it’s probably quite common in his field, but once you hold that book in your hands, and see it on your bookshelf and in my case actually had a party where each invitation upon RSVP was given two simple items to pick up at the grocery store like arugula and rice vinegar or what have you when everybody showed up to the party, whatever ingredient they had would determine who they were paired with to create their little appetizer item which like I said is 3 to 5 ingredients typically don’t require cooking. Maybe just some heating up we actually did it all on the beach was an amazing party. It was simple and it was fun but the best part about the food is the elegant philosophy with which each recipe is created.
The author, I’m sick that I don’t recall his name unfortunately lost the book a fire some years ago, but what he said was throughout the course of creating the book and creating the recipes. What he learned was that the recipe isn’t deemed right and ready to serve to someone when you finally got all the correct ingredients. It’s quite the opposite. The recipe is perfect and ready to be created and served to someone when it’s got only the necessary ingredients. This is the embodiment of elegance.
When I get ready to go out somewhere, whether it’s to the grocery store for a walk out with friends to an event, no matter what I always try to scale down what I’m wearing with make up with jewelry with accessories, every part of my outfit, every part of how I’m hourly presenting myself to the world With the exception of what my body is and what is the living breathing part of me I keep taking things off until I’ve got just the necessary items. No, I’m a woman who happens to be transgendered so it doesn’t matter how good I look it doesn’t matter how expensive I look I don’t get second chances ever. Even from allies. Because of this, it was imperative that I learned and put into practice the art of elegance, and how I present myself publicly.
I am learning so much from your videos and especially this one because just read what I’ve written here I could probably stand to learn the art of elegance in my speaking. I said a lot to make my point and somehow I’ve got myself sold that it was all necessary to make that point. I haven’t liked the story. I think it makes the point well and I’m not here for affirmation on my writing. I’m here to learn from you so I’ll zip it now and watch the rest of the video.
If you got this far, thank you for taking the time. I hope you find it meaningful in some small way.
Keeping amazing everyone and thank you for your patience as I try to learn and grow here
Be well, be kind, and be yourself 🥰

I have a complicated relationship with the word elegance. I get it a lot and always find it annoying. I personally associate elegance with being plain, with lacking memorability. Like a woman that is womanly and well kept but without being senual or real. I'd personally love to come across as chaotic and intense from time to time. I adore people who seem real and effortless.
I tried to look piratey and messed up for my birthday and got so many compliments for looking chic and elegant. I mean I take every compliment and I guess it has to do with facial features, coloring and aura aswell but I'd love to play with fashion and looks and not always exude the same vibe that is elegant apparently.

Elegance is showing kindness and compassion to all. Feminism was brought in via CIA plant gloria steinman (don't care if I spell her name wrong as she mislead so many women) we need to go back to our original mission.
