    I realize you might want to get straight to the review. Use the chapter markers and go to 05:46
    For a while now I have started to do these vlogstyle videos that are getting much longer, plus sometimes I give some room for items that would not be great in a standalone video. That is why these videos have gotten longer and not as straight to the point as in the past. I acknowledge that some viewers might not like this style, but for a while I have been looking for a way to make the creation of these videos more interesting to me. And I found that this "off the cuff" non scripted style is much more fun for me to create. That makes the videos less focused but hopefully also enjoyable to watch even if you might not be interested in the main item itself (ie. You watch my videos for entertainment even if the item doesn't interest you). Still I encourage anyone who wants to get straight to the review to use the chapter markers. I hope this reason for making this style of a review is understandable. Thanks for watching my videos

    The algorithm sent a gem today. A man who appreciates a beautiful watch and a fine bag. And a well-edited video, very cinematic, not obnoxious. Subscribed.

    I agree on the concerns on the front pocket. The original Max is better on that front. Also the laptop area missing a spot for a tablet/iPad is a missed opportunity. I think I will stick with my “Max”, even if it does appear a bit on the large side for EDC.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching. Out of curiosity, because I post that question in a different video: do you carry a laptop and a tablet on an edc basis? On a carry on bag I kinda see the point to carry both, but on a daily basis I always wondered if that second slot is actually that needed.

    • @arlencarlson

      @@YouknowtheboIt depends what my activities for the day are. I can say, if I bring a laptop, I will have a tablet/iPad with me as well. For the times when I bring just an iPad, I am more likely to opt for a smaller EDC bag.

    Hi Bo why not deactivating all notifications going to the watch? with the Samsung watches you can deactivate all notifications and use it as a normal watch plus silent alarm clock and if you want a sportsband

    If you had to choose between this, the regular max, the BE Forge Max and a CTB26 for short work travel that can also serve as one bag travel for a 3-5 day trip?

    I disagree with the general sentiments, and I like seeing a holistic view of your EDC currently. You have already put in Chapter Markers, so if I am not interested in that particular section, I simply skip to the next chapter. I do agree though, that the title might be misleading for others, especially if they don't know how to use Chapter Markers. Perhaps renaming might help such group of audience, something like "Able Carry Max Backpack Review + EDC Gear Update Oct 2024" or "My New Favorite Backpack? Able Carry Max + EDC Haul!".

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 місяці тому

      Very good suggestion. Thank you very much. But looking at analytics and UA-cam practices, having a long title is counterproductive as most viewers don't actually read the whole title. So even if I put all of that into the title, either people wouldn't read the end or not read the title at all. I understand all of the constructive criticism about the title, but it's not as easy to solve unfortunately. I guess the best solution is either to focus on the review (which as I mentioned in my pinned comment, has become a bit boring to me during the creation of the video) or trying to structure the videos differently in a way that those extra parts are spread out differently inside the video (ie. Having them in the middle so that the video starts with the review instead).
      Thanks for the good suggestion though

    Nice review. I'd also share your concerns about the lack of slots for vertical separation. Also I'm not a huge fan of XPAC and I think this only comes in XPAC? A regular cordura version would be nice. And yeah it seems large for 26l - I think the CTB26 is slightly shorter, and certainly the GR2 26l is shorter - which is my go-to "higher capacity" bag. But it looks great and I think AC kills it when it comes to comfort.

    I went with the original Max because, 1. This bag is only half an inch shorter and .5 lb lighter than the max, and 2. the laptop zipper is no longer aquagard, which is a deal breaker for an EDC. I don't really see the value in a larger front pocket honestly, and that's really the biggest change.

    Vertical front pockets just do not make sense, usually staying mostly empty due to bad pocket design

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 місяці тому +1

      True. Which is why I "need" some pockets to utilize the whole vertical space. For example the black ember Forge has a bunch of slots that help to spread out all of the items in a vertical space and not everything accumulates at the bottom

    • @WabbitCrouton
      @WabbitCrouton 2 місяці тому

      I look for them. because I stash the front pocket with a vertical opening with quick grab items like tissues, sunglasses and case and bike/headlight. But if they become too big, like this one, it may be considered a waste of space or need an inner pocket/organizer.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 місяці тому +2

      Thanks for letting me know. But I thought I mentioned that it also longish and therefore stuff just slides down and accumulates at the bottom. If I missed that, sorry about that. I was hoping more for compartments that are allinged in a way that the whole vertical space was utilized.

    • @Youknowthebo
      @Youknowthebo  2 місяці тому +1

      Good suggestion. The aim of the video is obviously the review of the bag as it takes up 85% of the video. In hindsight I should have put the two first parts in the middle of the video. But as mentioned in the pinned comment : I have pivoted to these off the cuff style to make the creation of these reviews more enjoyable to me and that way the videos can get less focused to a degree. Still need to work on that. But that is why I put as many chapters in the video to make it easy for the viewer to jump around

    I’ve been watching Bo’s videos for years and this video is no different than others, well done! I bought the OG Max back when it was on kickstarter. The only thing I didn’t care for about the EDC Max release, one, they didn’t ask the community for feedback and, two, the price is a bit high in my opinion. $270 for an EDC pack when the 30L Max is $260, was confusing.
