If you are sitting there watching this video with a painful frozen shoulder wondering if Gary knows what he's talking about, well it turns out he does! I watched all 5 videos and applied what he taught me and it worked. It took a 3 days to unfreeze it though, and in all honesty the first day of doing what he said actually made my shoulder hurt worse. So on day 2 I had friend apply these techniques on me and I was pain free all day. It hurt again that night though. Then on day 3 my friend did press and release technique on me again and that's when the magic happened. No pain all day, no pain all night, and then the next day I doubled my ROM (range of motion). Each day I gain more strength in my shoulder and have started trying to increase my ROM even more by slowly inching up the wall with my fingers. As a person who does not have insurance, I am eternally grateful to awesome people like Gary who share their knowledge and give relief to so many people. Thank you Gary, I will spread the word to anyone who has pain to turn to your channel for genuine help. Keep doing what you're doing Gary, you're amazing at what you do and you're helping so many people!

      Dear Cheri,
Thank you for such a great review. I'm thrilled my videos helped, and I'm so glad you were persistent. Frozen Shoulders are much more complicated than most other joint problems, so "peeling the onion" is most often required by visiting and then revisiting many areas. Just FYI - all 5 videos, with text, are on my free website here, www.do-it-yourself-joint-pain-relief.com/frozen-shoulder-exercises-and-treatment.html
      All the best,

Gary, on my birthday in August 2017 I fell in the bathroom, I broke a bone in my foot, my right thumb and tore 3 of 4 tendons in my right shoulder. MRI, Xrays followed by consultations led to my arm being in a sling for over 6 months.
I finally had keyhole surgery on 20th January and was told (and shown from images) that I had full tendon repair (micro surgery) and I had a frozen shoulder which was 'operated on'. However, being referred to physiotherapy I was instructed to do nothing for 6 weeks - I was told that I couldn't even take my arm out of the sling. I realise tendon repair was first but, the tendons are now fixed.
When physio started in earnest, the sling came off and the amount of therapy was, er, none. The shoulder was worse than before surgery and regardless of my surgeons support and comment, the physio 'treatment consisted of pendular exercises and er, nothing more. Suggestions were made by the 'therapists' that I will probably need further surgery to free the arm. And I have not had the same therapist more than twice!
NONE of what you have explained as to what has caused the 'freeze' has ever been mentioned to me, I have been told by my therapists it is the 'shoulder pocket' shrinking. It's down to spasming muscles, it's, it's it's it's! And each suggests that the others should have done more!
Your first video was an instructional revelation. Why shouldn't someone who suffers know what is actually causing it! Your second video has released my neck like nothing I have felt for months! And that was just one session! Not only can I move my head my tinnitus is reduced (I have muscle induced tinnitus). I am stunned, simply stunned.
I had given up hope of having functioning arm this year, and I was anticipating it taking a full 18 months to get anywhere near 'normal' movement. Amusingly, rebuilding muscle in the pecs deltoid etc is not new to me (both shoulders having been broken and dislocated in the past).
I would add that I was a committed sportsman, I have suffered so many sporting injuries, shoulders have been dislocated, arms broken, ligaments snapped, knees, well the list is endless. No matter the injury whatever went by way of physio, I always did (do) what I am instructed.
To be fair, I could cry (really I mean tears) at the relief I am having from seeing the cause, understanding the problem and the positive impact your instructions are having.
Sometimes, regardless of suggestions otherwise, without the internet I would probably be one of many sentenced to pure agony for years to come. Thanks Gary.

Gary - I have to tell you that I have a problem with my shoulder due to being on the computer too much. I was in so much pain I thought I was going to have to take time off work. Then i found your videos on a Friday night. By the next day, I was probably 20% better. By the Monday, I was 50% better. Within two weeks, I was 100% better (it would have been sooner but once I didn't hurt all the time I got lazy lol!) THANK YOU!!!! I am going to be doing a video telling my subscribers about your fabulous videos as you truly made a huge difference in my life. I have also forwarded your videos on to so many people and my dog has also benefited. I just wanted to say thank you so much for your fabulous videos. You are appreciated. ♥ Elle

Thank you for these videos! This is my second frozen shoulder, so I realized quickly what was going on and started working on it early on. The last frozen shoulder took about 9 months to work out, but I'm very encouraged by the progress I've already made this time. Early intervention make a huge difference. I just wanted to tell you how very helpful your explanations for each section are. Understanding the why behind the pull and release makes so much sense! I'm being very consistent, which is also key to getting a frozen shoulder working again. I was amazed that I was able to turn my head in just one day! One day! I was ecstatic at how fast that happened! That roll of dimes -- ouch -- but making steady progress. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yes! I've been going to physio for about 2 months and it is helping but very slowly. Last week I had such a severe attack while I was ironing as bit of steam hit my left hand that sent my left arm back that caused such a severe pain that I felt faint and DID actually faint from the pain & had to call EMS as I thought I was getting a heart attack or stroke! So when you speak of the 11th cranial it all makes perfect sense as to why I had that fainting spell. Thanks so much once more....it takes great patience to demo these videos and I do appreciate the effort for the same. Thanks once again!

I never thought I could start to feel better from a UA-cam video. I shoulder has been in the worst pain I've ever been in since August 2015. I have even went to my sister who's a massage therapist. Nothing that I've tried worked. I know to keep it up, but kudos Gary. After one round I have less pain and more range of motion than I have had in months. I have cerebellar atrophy, does that make a difference?

      Hi Yin,
Everyone is a bit different, but you can do them multiple times a day if you keep noticing improvement. Sometimes the body does need a break, so pay attention and if you feel like you've done too much then take the rest of the day off. I'd say most people could do them twice a day, but everyone is different.

( ie ,like sleeping in the car ) TQ also for your video.May God bless u.

Thanks Gary Crowley . I have had the frozen shoulder for last 4 months and got restricted shoulder range and pain when I sleep on my back. Went to Orthopedic doctor and done with an X-ray and MRI. X-ray did not show anything significant. The result of MRI was: 1. Low grade partial thickness burial surface tear of the Supraspinatus tendon with underlying tendinosis. 2. Low grade partial thickness articular surface tear of the subscapularis with underlying tendinosis. 3. Mild narrowing of the subacromial outlet. The doctor said no arthroscopic surgery needed and the result of the MRI is pretty common on my age (55yrs), and suggested to undergo physical therapy. The pain is not shown that much when I am standing or sitting but the pain gets severe when sleeping on my back for 1 - 2 hours. But when I switch my body position by lying on my stomach, the pain gets reduced significantly. That makes me think that all of this might have something to do with my neck, i,e, pinching nerve at spine around neck. Do you think your exercises would take care of my pain ? Would greatly appreciate if you could advise.

    Hi
With me the pain started 1 week ago and I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder. The pain is unbelievable - and I have high pain tolerance and I'm only 21.
I have read that frozen shoulder have 3 stages and I'm in first one - that basically mean PAIN. Right now I can barely move my arm and lifting is a BIG NO. When is the good time to start doing this exercises?

Now is good time. Any space and freedom of movement you can help create by working on the tight tissue will only help. So do what you can, and even have a friend work on some spots that you may have a hard time getting at. Now is the time. You can do it!

You must have never had AC or frozen shoulder. These movements are pretty much impossible with frozen shoulder. Maybe a year into it I can see how this would help since you are so tight from not moving. Go to Frozen Shoulder Friends on Facebook and you will find 3000 suffering people that will give you the real truths. Your first video has 86000 views your last has 32000 should say a lot about is this working or not.

6 years ago, I suffered Frozen shoulder. Yes it is quite painful AND at the time I was determined to resolve it on my own... what I figured out (with very LITTLE resources to be found on UA-cam at the time) seems to correlate with what he's shared in this series of 5 videos. You can reach these spots with your opposite non-frozen arm. You can also ask for a family member or friend to help you. Again, back then and on my own (didn't trust Dr's then, and I don't trust Dr's now for this sort of ailment) I was able to restore full ROM!
Here I am 6 yrs later, and I saw the signs of Frozen Shoulder happening on the opposite side.. I had hoped since I knew I had done this before, I could work this out BEFORE I ended up in the Acute Stage.... but not so. I'm so glad I found this series last weekend, which confirms what I figured out and did mostly on my own back then. So, starting today I will record where I am at in my ROM, and report back how quickly this works to 1) end my pain and 2) restore ROM.
