Also, for deep shelves I like to use cups or things turned upside down to boost up the back layer to make it easier to see some of the plants if they're all the same height, gives some depth and dimension. Definitely love your new plant wall! So inspiring!!
They sell longer cords so you can basically daisy chain all your lights into one power adapter. I think they said you can connect up to 16 of the 1ft Barrina lights in one power adapter.
Hi Fern. I absolutely love your new plant shelves and set up. You have such great style!!!! What a wonderful way for visitors to be greeted with, as they enter your lovely new home. Glad to see Olive coming into inspect your work. She is so adorable!!! Thank you for another wonderful video and showing us great possibilities in displaying our plants indoors. Loved it!!!! 💗🪴🐕🪛🔧💗
Another hour long video 🥹 you’re spoiling us! I got a power box to hide my power board! Just a plastic box with holes through the top and the sides so you can feed your cables through. I have a white one and a black one. It’s so sleek looking. 🌼
I used black electrical tape on the facing side of the light bars as well as the cords on my Barrina lights inside my Rudsta. Works great and has stayed in for like two years.
That cabinet and the lights came out really nice. Good work! I smiled when I saw you hanging crystals because I put crystals in my plants too. Very cute hangers. 😍
Gorgeous, Fern! This has been so inspiring to me. I love how you talk about being able to appreciate your plants. I think that's so important! So happy for you!
Hi Fern 💫 It turned out so beautiful!!! I’m so happy everything is coming together to make your home that much more cozy. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙏🏻💫
Wow an awesome coincidence!!!! Me and my partner just went out and got ourselves a white vittsjro yesterday! Wasn't sure about light set up so this is such a great help. Impeccable timing fern. Been binging ur planty videos for a few months and we are OBSESSED! Much love ❤
Looks lovely. Consider putting a drop pendant light in the middle. Also add upside down pots or stands to add different heights for the smaller plants on the top shelf.
It looks so beautiful!!! I love the plant charms, I've never seen that before! I bet that wine charms or dangling earrings could be upcycled into plant charms too!
It looks incredible. I had no idea it would turn out so great! It's also insane to see how much some of your plants have grown! Your begonia amphioxus is massive!! I had no idea. Or your alocasia jacklyn. Your plants grow extremely fast 🔥
Watching set-up vlogs is helpful. Right now, I don't have space for a shelf, so this is the perfect time to make a blueprint for future shelves. So far, I've landed on color coordination (shelves and fixtures), cord management (e.g., color, covers, placement), power-sources and timers; storage space for plant care items.
That's what I did. I connected all mine together so one switch turns on about 8-12 lights at the same time. You can connect up to 12 lights together, so I have 1-2 plugs for every two book cases. Most of my lights are Barina.
You made my day. Thoroughly enjoyed warching you set up the shelving and lights and resolving issues. Plant placement is perfect. Thank you so much for inviting us along ❤
So cute.. feel like when you have the space to spread plants out and give some space, you can appreciate each plant 💚 and those plant charms are adorable 💙
Barrina has Longer cords you can buy to chain them together.. I agree with you on finding black lights. I keep waiting for them to come out with black ones. I've even thought about covering the light w tape and spray painting them. Love love love your set up! I sure with my nearest IKEA store was closer than 5 hours away!
This is perfect timing for this video!!! I literally have the same shelve sitting in its box but I wasn’t sure what light set up I should do!!!! Thanks Fern ❤️
Sometimes, I just sit in my son's playroom (sitting room in the front of the house with the best light) and just imagine the plant shelves I'll be putting everywhere. Yours are beautiful!
Some plastic square and rectangular trays under your plants will lessen any excess water spilling onto your glass shelves...save any messes. I got heaps from 2nd hand stores for a few bucks each and use them all the time. Looking fantastic! You can use the top of the shelf too, for plants that don't need grow lights. I'd get a fire check by a local fire man to make sure you are safe, with so many electrical points. They do checks for free in my country. Keep rocking on, Jo in Nz😊
Started watching this vid last week and paused. Finished this morning and now I’m ordering one of these shelves! I can’t wait to do a before (tiny plastic small shelves) and after. This vid was super helpful!
I have that same tall vitsjo shelf and I bought the barina grow lights, they must be the 2 ft ones, and what I do is go criss cross to the top of each shelf and the daisy chain works perfect!
Thank you so much for sharing this video!!! Just bought my first house🤗 and i have a spare room i have no clue what i was gonna do with it and you gave me so many ideas with this video!! Your amazing🫶🏻
Hi. I have 2 of the big shelves. I used the white cord covers that you use on the walls to hide tv cords. I sprayed them black. Worked great. Sticks to the end bars great. Love your plants . I use old tea saucers from the thrift store catch any water. Most of my are old and beautiful for .50 to a dollar
I hope that you will consider putting an aquarium in the very middle space and putting some plants that grow in the water. That will be a center piece and really nice to look at after a hard day. :D
The new set up looks fab!!! I’ve been using barrina lights for 2 months and they are great! I even find some plants needing to only have 1 light per shelf. My top shelf has 2 so my high light plants are there and then some lower light plants are on a shelf with only 1 light and they do great! I hope this new set up brings you much joy!
Looks incredible Fern! Your plants look so healthy, such a stunning home you’ve created for you both 💚🪴I’m getting such creative inspirations following along with you as you set up your home, I’m excited to make some changes with how I display my own plants.
Oh my gosh those plant charms are adorable! Thank you for inspiring me to reuse my tons of old diy bead bracelets I made during the pandemic back then! They compliment my plants very well 💚❤️🧡
Recommend automatic timers to turn on your lights so you don't worry about tung on so many light. I love your set up and will add more lights to my shelves. Thanks a million.
This looks amazing Fern!!! You did a great job😍 I think it would look really good to have a framed art piece on the wall above the lower shelf, between the taller shelves 🪴
OMG ❤ it’s gorgeous! Thank you for sharing. I have an area in my living room, which I couldn’t decide what to do but now you’ve given me some inspiration😊
My imagination and design capabilities are not stellar, so I want to replicate your display scheme exactly! I so enjoy your videos and look forward to each new launch. Thank you.
Since this video is from a few weeks back, someone’s probably mentioned it, but there’s a clear plastic film on the Barrina lights. I almost missed it myself when installing these, so I wanted to mention it just in case. 😊 The shelves are gorgeous. I have wooden ikea shelves, and am just a tad envious of your beautiful arrangement. It’s so clean and allows the plants to be the focal point. 💚
Hey Fern 2 things, I got the same lights and I found that when the lights are on the heat makes those pads unglue. I got some heavy duty double sided Velcro and haven’t had another issue. Amazon also sells longer connectors for in between the lights I saw them in 2,4 and 6 ft. Worked so well for me
Really nice video Fern. I feel like there’s so many useful tips in here. I want to look into the tape you used. Also, I recently got the Begonia lucerna and it’s made me fall in love with Begonias. So happy you have one too! 💚🌱
Excellent video! I just watered mine and was wanting to rearrange them, you gave me inspiration to do so. I decorate my plant shelves with penguins, gnomes, and other little treasures.
I have the same exact set up! I got the shelves and lights in fall 2021! I love it so much! Your plants will live their best lives this fall/winter! Oh and the sticky pads that comes with the Barrina lights will wear out and drop the lights on the plants as time goes on. I discovered this one morning. Thank God none of my plants were crushed or the lights were on. Lol. Try to get some strong double sided tape. It won’t budge! Edit: I commented too soon. Lmao. Your lights already fell! I’m glad you got the tape!
I'm so glad you mentioned the nano tape. There is nothing quite like being awakened in the middle of the night to some weird crashing sound in your plant room and being freaked out. Then the next day you arrive to see the light has smashed some delicate plant. Some cute little elevators would be nice to add for height variation.
Fern, if you were so moved, you can trim the adapters that link the two light sticks together. It is a quick and easy soldering job, add some heat shrink tubing and boom, professional looking short adapters!
I so enjoyed this do-it- yourself video. Just a tip for your exotica I too struggled with them until I put it in a self watering pot in a semi chunky mix. It is an amazing plant now!
If the nano tape fails I have been using the command strips for picture frames. Stick one on each end of the light and the plant stand. Also nice for easy removal if you need to adjust the placement.
This setup is beautiful, Fern! You have such a good eye for balance and placement. I always love your style. I'm hearing that Barrina is coming out with black grow lights. I use Barrina in most of my plant spaces, I have for a couple years, and I love them. I would definitely have bought black if I had the option.
Absolutely gorgeous. 😍 what a setup, you’re so creative! Make sure you’re getting enough rest-your vocal fry is really heavy in this episode, so make sure you’re getting enough sleep! ❤ Obsessed with that variegated alocasia. 🤩
Oh my goshhh!! I have the same shelves and set up with the Barrina lights. I found a really good way to for hiding cords and also being able to connect the lights from shelf to shelf to reduce the amount of plugs that I used!
You could try to get a cover box for the power-strip if you don't like seeing it. Either a cute or just simple black one and maybe use it as a little plant stand for smaller plants, then also run the cables behind the vertical bars or put a black sleeve on. And for the acrylic top, if I remember correctly it was quite expensive, so before ordering a new one you could try to use your hairdryer to get it warm and press it flat again. I just bought two cuttings of philodendron majestic, I have wanted one since I saw yours :D
Also, for deep shelves I like to use cups or things turned upside down to boost up the back layer to make it easier to see some of the plants if they're all the same height, gives some depth and dimension.
Definitely love your new plant wall! So inspiring!!
This is what we all have been waiting for 🥰
Hope you enjoyyyy 😊
I can't stress how comfortable these Videos are.
I get home from work and they're just so nice to watch and listen to
They sell longer cords so you can basically daisy chain all your lights into one power adapter. I think they said you can connect up to 16 of the 1ft Barrina lights in one power adapter.
The ending is so satisfying!
you should place the extra glass double shelf on top of the low shelf so you don't have to worry about water. LOVE this video. The shelf is so dreamy.
Looks beautiful, you’ve made good use of what might have been an under-utilised space. I’m impressed! Thanks for taking us along on this journey.
Another hour long video 🥹 you’re spoiling us! I got a power box to hide my power board! Just a plastic box with holes through the top and the sides so you can feed your cables through. I have a white one and a black one. It’s so sleek looking. 🌼
Oh what a good idea!!
I used black electrical tape on the facing side of the light bars as well as the cords on my Barrina lights inside my Rudsta. Works great and has stayed in for like two years.
Great idea!
That cabinet and the lights came out really nice. Good work! I smiled when I saw you hanging crystals because I put crystals in my plants too. Very cute hangers. 😍
I had no idea chord covers existed before this! This is going to help me so much with my cord management!!!!!
What a great setup. I really appreciate how patient you were putting putting it all together, too
Your new cabinet looks beautiful 👍💕 So glad you were able to get it set up. I know you’ve been waiting to get it done for ages. 😀🪴
Gorgeous, Fern! This has been so inspiring to me. I love how you talk about being able to appreciate your plants. I think that's so important! So happy for you!
Ohh wait up! *paused
That's the cutest screwdriver I've ever seen!🙌
Hi Fern 💫 It turned out so beautiful!!! I’m so happy everything is coming together to make your home that much more cozy. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙏🏻💫
I just wanna say something ... you look very happy since buying your house ... + loooving the videos ... 🥰🌸🌻

The plant charms are so flipping cute! Also, thanks for the tape tip!

The charms on the plants just made me super happy
Barrina has longer cords so if you wanted, you could connect the lights between shelves instead of needing a separate set up for each level!
That's what I did, ordered longer connector cables.
I spent extra on lights from the hydroponics store and it made a big difference.
@@BoojiePanda yes me too.

I'd get a fire check by a local fire man to make sure you are safe, with so many electrical points.
They do checks for free in my country.
Keep rocking on, Jo in Nz😊
Need a coffee for this one! xxx OMG I'm stunned by the beauty of your shelves. Amazing job!
Indeed 🥰☕️
I really love the display, well done!! And the best is, it looks like it has been there for a long time, it fits so well ❤
In love with your setup! An absolute dream & great way to display your plant collection 🪴✨
So lovely to see all of them together! Great job! Enjoy!
AHHHH!! this made my day. i love watching you put your charms on your planties 🥹 i weep. everything looks amazing 🩵

I am loving your new shelves!!! I was mesmerized by the music while you were hanging all of the crystals on your plants 💚💚💚
Absolutely loved watching you set this up. The end result is stunning 😍 you’re going to so enjoy admiring them ❤. Thank you Fern 😊
I do believe that your plants are loving your new home. They know you’re happy so they’re happy, or is it they’re happy so you’re happy🎉🎉🎉
I hope that you will consider putting an aquarium in the very middle space and putting some plants that grow in the water. That will be a center piece and really nice to look at after a hard day. :D
That would be cool!

Just a stunning assortment of plants. Love the begonia in a fishbowl
Thank you so much :)
Those cord sleeves are genius!! Everything looks FANTASTIC!! I'm going to be doing something similar, so this video was extremely helpful.
Thank you so much!! I hope yours turns out awesome :)
So happy for you Fern!! It's been so wonderful to watch you flourish in your new home. Congratulations it's coming along so beautifully!!✨️

That Hindu rope is gorgeous 😮❤
So nice to see this in depth as I have my own plants in a grow light and shelf set up. Will be buying some of that Nano tape. Looks great, thank you!
Te quedó precioso! Me encanta! ❤ I love it so much!
This looks amazing Fern!!! You did a great job😍 I think it would look really good to have a framed art piece on the wall above the lower shelf, between the taller shelves 🪴

Barrina is awesome! I have MANY , love how you can wire them together or snap em together to make one large bar!
Hi Fern!!!! Absolutely loving this set up! I too had to have the Fannie Moser too when I saw it! So beautiful
I so enjoyed this do-it- yourself video. Just a tip for your exotica I too struggled with them until I put it in a self watering pot in a semi chunky mix. It is an amazing plant now!

Beautiful, the stand, plants, and YEW!
The shelves look fantastic!! ❤
Looks lovely, Fern! I hang my power strips upside down to the bottom of a shelf. Also helps me avoid pouring water into it.
that shirt and those shelves are amazing!!!!
Such a beautiful setup, I wish I had the space for something like this. Thanks for a great video! 🪷💖🪷
Thank you! 🤗
I have 2 of the tall shelves, in white, and they are full of plants! I'm in love with them!
I had soooo much fun watching you put everything together! ❤ so beautiful! BEAUTIFUL 😍

Absolutely beautiful. I’m so excited for you and so glad you are so in love with it. Loved this video.
Looks incredible! Congrats on the beautiful home you can make your own sanctuary!
Nice to see you very relaxed and happy
Your new shelves and plant setup look absolutely amazing, sweetheart! I have the barrina lights as well and my plants love them!🪴🌱 ❤😍
Perfect timing, Fern! I’m going to IKEA this week so this video was extremely helpful!
Glad it was helpful! thank you for watching :)
Love it! And your plants are loving it aswell! ‼️👍great set up👍
💚🌱🌵☘️💚
The whole setup looks sooo GOOD 😍😍 definitely feeling super inspired to redo some of my own planty displays. Can't wait to see future updates 🤩
Love the shelf! Maybe some risers are needed for the plants in the back? But such a nice plant set up. Enjoy!! Thanks for sharing!
Omg girl I love it, I love your style so beautiful
Great job I’ll be getting my Milsbo next week
I love your videos so enthusiastic
You could try to get a cover box for the power-strip if you don't like seeing it. Either a cute or just simple black one and maybe use it as a little plant stand for smaller plants, then also run the cables behind the vertical bars or put a black sleeve on.
And for the acrylic top, if I remember correctly it was quite expensive, so before ordering a new one you could try to use your hairdryer to get it warm and press it flat again.
I just bought two cuttings of philodendron majestic, I have wanted one since I saw yours :D
That looks like a lot of work, and it turned out great! Also, I love your nails!
Thank you! 😊
