      How much is the discount for? It was hard to tell but I am looking for a grow light. When does it expire?

    • @kasu9
      @kasu9 Рік тому

      @@gypsylee333 $10 off, but you have to spend at least $160 I think it said so just a single 16 watt grow light isn't eligible. I just used the discount myself to purchase a 32 watt one and it worked! Not sure on the expiration though. I'd like to be able to use her link again to purchase two of the smaller ones when I'm making my cabinet because I really like what she did with them. 😅 Won't be able to do that for a while though lol.

      so I love your ideas. just saw the setup with your old lights and now seeing this one where you're replacing them. I know you like the look of the new lights better, but other than the new company sponsoring a video, what is so much better than these new lights? I dont care so much about looks, I care more about functionality and affordability

      With the 4 pin fans what is the adapter you talk about. And are these fans waterproof

  • @sooyunbyeon5981
    @sooyunbyeon5981 Рік тому +73

    My boyfriend is a big pc person and he watched this video with me and noticed your fan is a 3pin fan while the adapter is a 4pin: he says that should work perfectly but he says you may hear the noise of the fans. you could use “be quiet pure wings 2” fans , they are 4 pin (just like your adapter), circulate much more air, and are a ton quieter (19.2 dB/A) which is not noticeable to us in everyday life! They come in many different sizes and are regarded as some of the best quiet fans for moving air. (ps love your videos and the cabinet looks great 🫶)

      Dam I just literally smoked my ice and drank my coffee. My babies are currently my cactus and succulents which just woke up from their nap when their grow lights turned on and I am planning on getting orchid babies for this cabinet. Small long prolifically flowering orchids and a dwarf fuchsia or two I think could make prolific amounts of flowers hopefully for most of the year. You might see my plants and feel jealous of what I have but I see your life and feel jealous of what you have. I would like to have a girlfriend and leave the drugs behind forever.

    The metal hooks have to be the best idea you've incorporated. Looks so much nicer and everything you've done will definitely make your plants happier. Better humidity, light, air circulation. Excited to see how your plants do with all these positive changes!!!

    You’re quite right about those of us who’ve had to wait being able to capitalize on the lessons learned 😊📝 I have a whole notebook full for when I get around to doing mine, after I move next
    Also, I built a cabinet ages ago for other 😏planty purposes, and used those pc fans - heck yes they ARE powerful! If yours doesn’t have multiple speeds (run it on low!), I ended up putting mine on timers so they wouldn’t run 24/7, it was creating too much airflow and drying everyone out

  • @YaBoiSenpoi
    @YaBoiSenpoi Рік тому +3

    I don't know if this could help at all but Noctua makes a fan controller that you could hook those computer case fans up to with a splitter. That way you could have adjustable fan speeds from a little knob on the outside of the cabinet. That will also help with the noise and lifespan of the fans bc they wont be running at full speed when they're plugged in.

    I do not understand why everybody on youtube bought Ikea cabinets. What the matter whith that ? A real grow tent is more usefull and adapted to grow plants, and until they'll be mature... An Ikea box is just a gadget for children. Personnaly, I have a grow tent de 240 cm x 120 cm x 200 cm with 2 spider farmer sp 400O and fan and you can believe me. It absolutly ideal... I will never ever grow plants differently now...

    I agree on waiting is sometimes better. Last fall I finally had opportunity to have a friend go to IKEA to pick up 2 RUDSTA cabinets and used the magnetic hooks. Also, did not drill the massive hole in the bottom of the cabinet. Just drilled the smallest hole possible for the wire to go through at the top of the cabinet too thread the light wires through and down the back. Used grommets to make the hole tight around the wire. Your foam tip was great idea! Good you increased the number of outlets on the power strip. Invaluable! Found the RUDSTA had fairly large gaps around doors and sides so weather stripping a must. If doors hard to close after, use a handy magnet at top of doors to help keep them closed. Can’t see mine because it’s black same as cabinet.

    Actually just because it costs you 2$ per month doesnt mean ist the same for anyone. It depends on the individual costs for electricity. In Germany these two lights are up to 4€ which is 6 canadian $. You could do better and tell people how to calculate on their own. So for everyone reading, you multiply the Watts the light needs with the ours it runs per months. Divide by 1000 and multiply with your own electricity Price per kwh. So for example one mother light with 16 Watt run for 12 Hours per day 30 days per month ist (16*12*30):1000= 5,76. My local price is 0,36 Cents/kWh so ist 2€.

    Big offtopic (sorry for english, im not native speaker) but consider putting down that "key chain" or how its called from your dog`s neck. They hear many times better than we do. Just take bunch of keys yourself and shake them right next to your ear. You`ll feel immediately how uncomfortable and even a bit painful it is. Dogs need to listen to surroundings when they walk, its their natural behaviour and this is interrupting them quite heavily and also lead to some OCD/ADHD like issues later on. Im getting many dogs with metal stuff on their neck every day in ambulance and every single time i shake bunch of keys next to owners ear they immediately take them off of their dogs. Just try it. Loving your channel.Have a nice day.

    Great idea stuffing the oversized piece of foam into the base panel hole. Why not do that both sides? No need to cut/drill/melt a hole for power cords - just snip to the centre with scissors to make a closed letter C (not a Pac-Man! No need to remove any material). Slide cable to the centre and stuff foam back in place. Done.
    Always makes my day one filled with possibilities after watching your videos. Thank you!!

    Hi, I found your channel about a week ago and subscribed. I have been watching tons of your videos. I enjoy them all. I like how you did the greenhouse. I will be going back and watching all of the greenhouse videos. I would be interested in knowing how the suction cups go. Anytime I have used them, they have eventually fallen off. I might have used magnetic hooks and wires or ties to hang those racks rather than the suction hooks. The magnetic hooks are great and it looks like they have strong magnets. I think I wold add more of them along the racks though to help support the weight of the plants. Great job! Off to watch more of your videos. 🙂

    I stumbled across your video because I may be doing Rudsta wide greenhouse cabinet setup and got to your section with the fans and found on Etsy some people make some really nice fan mounts for PC fans that can suction cup or magnet mount with the screw holes on the fans.
    Also as for the extra pin, some PC fans have 4 pins for what's called PWM, it basically allows a PC to adjust the fan speed based on temperatures, would be cool if someone made a plug for that for greenhouse cabinets to control humidity and temp.

    Hi, would love to know which suction cups are you using in your cabinet, have bought new milsbo cabinet just yesterday and my plant spectrum lights are delivered too. Thanks for the code. Literally can’t wait to built it ❤

    Perfect timing! I finally got my first milsbo a week ago and have been so busy with work I haven’t had time to set it up.
    Can you pretty please share where you got your metal grid and baskets from? 💖🪴

    Question- do you think the cabinet needs ventilation coming from the outside? Grow tents use them, I’ve wondered if they would be useful in these plant cabinets as well in order to keep a healthy flow of fresh air coming through.

    Omg the new look is so good Fern! The black really makes the plants pop with the green 😊
    A suggestion could you not mount the power bar underneath the cabinet? So like it’s kind of hidden and also wouldn’t get dropped on? But could be a pain trying to plug things in 😂 just a thought.
    Love the video though!!!

    Fern what suction cup hooks do you use? I've looked on Amazon and of course mixed reviews on everything 🙄

    Fern! Don’t be too concerned about your Aglaonema not rooting (unless it goes downhill)… aglaonema are some of the slowest rooters EVER!

    So how do you feel about the fan velocity now? It’s not too rough for the smaller plants?

    • @wildfern
      @wildfern  Рік тому

      It seems to be okay. My concern is that it would damage new leaves coming in, so I will keep my eye on that. But right now it actually seems fine.

    I’m setting up my first milsbo and have been waiting for this! Such great ideas using magnets and zip ties for the lighting and for the fan placement. I couldn’t help myself and ordered the acrylic shelving with different shelf configurations from Etsy. I’m thinking of getting the acrylic “pegboard” also. I want my plants to kind of look like they are floating rather than sitting on a shelf. But I can see how you can’t give up your personalized wildfern black grid shelf. I’m also thinking of drilling a hole for all the cords in the back top right corner instead of in the bottom. I was thinking I might be able to secure all the cords along the black frame on the outside of the cabinet, thus hiding them better. Any thoughts?

    hi fern!!!! do you fertilize your plants everytime you water? ive been experimenting with a light seaweed fertilizer everytime i water and my plants seem to like that opposed to a more heavier fertilizer monthly! i love your videos so much!

    I've been looking into finally setting up my own milsbo cabinet and you've inspired me! The mother grow lights look really good in there so I might look into that myself. Been wanting to pick some of them up anyway. 😅
    My choco red you suggested I put in a little bag for humidity is FINALLY showing some new life, but boy has she been through it.
