For those of you wondering why I said two placemats are needed for this project instead of the three “you” think are needed, please see this scrap video and all should become clear to you ua-cam.com/video/Jz0g80yF0FM/v-deo.html ⭐️⭐️⭐️ALSO, Reinforcing the top and bottom side panels of your bag will give you added support for additional weight. My bag did not have any problems supporting four pounds, but please do your own test to determine your weight limits. Remember quality tape is the key, and double stick carpet tape is AWESOME😀😀

Sherry, I made about 12 of these totes for my friends. Everyone loved them. The only downfall is the handles, they break easily if they are bent a lot. I fixed my daughter ‘s with some cord I bought at the dollar store. I used my smallest circle die and pounded it against a metal base to cut the holes in the bad. Then I put the cord through the hole and tied a knot. Wrapped regular scotch tape around the ends to keep the cord from unraveling. My daughter loves the cord handles.
This is the best! What a nice tote for housewarming gift. Bottle of wine, loaf of bread,and block of cheese. Thank you Posh Lady!🤗

I just made my first bag from this tutorial today and I love how it turned out!! I used the "when live gives you lemons make lemonade" placemats. Of course, it only took me 3 hours - LOL! Can't wait to make more and maybe get a wee bit faster. Thank you for a wonderful video.

If I were you I would start some now. You can do different colors and decor
All holiday theme items come out so early we can make plenty beforehand. And you can't have too many tote bags. And these will be great for when you discover you need an inexpensive-but-not-cheap gift for someone.
When I was a kid I made bags out of quilted placemats from the family dollar store
Cool, they were versatile. I made purses from them selling quite a few.
We did that in 4H

This is the most clever thing I have ever seen. I love it!! I don’t have a score board or tape or a snaps kit, but I feel I really must go out and get them. These will be super cool gifts!!!
Theses are perfect to take a sandwich, a book, a drink, and some sunscreen to the park or beach. Not to mention looking oh so Posh doing it! Love it! I’ll have to make a few.

This placemat bag kinda puts me in the mind of how we used to cover our books with paperbags, * yes I've dated myself LOL LOL LOL because this was before large companies furnished book covers to schools in the 60s* and we skillfully used brown paper bags, scissors and tape. That was arts and crafts for us. LOL thank you for bringing back those good memories. 🙂😎💕

This is absolutely adorable and useful. I love the chef mat. Every time I see it at DT I think what can I do with that! You knocked it out of the park. Great bag for quick run to the store, glam up your office space (file folders), paper stash. The options are endless, if the dimensions work out! Excellent idea!

This evening I made my first tote bag. Thanks for the inspiration. I took your idea up a notch by adding a front pocket and a latch to keep the tote bag closed.
such a great idea and soo inexpensive! I also can see this used for so many other things, like a keeper for file folders or papers, you can even make it accordion-like with the folds! And so many shapes you can make these things in! Thanks for such a cool idea!

Thank you Sherry for this wonderful tutorial, adorable tote. I made my first one and I added some finishing touches to the straps. The reason I did was because I got a little crack in the vinyl so I wanted to cover it . I used some pretty fabric to them. I’m pleased ! 💕

Don't you just love Dollar Tree! We have such a variety of placemats to choose from, Crafting Tools available, AND the double sided tape! I haven't seen the rivets, but I haven't been looking for them. My home store does have yarn. Sweet project!

Thanks for the awesome tutorial. I went with the “Plant Smiles, Grow Laughter, Harvest Love” turquoise one as that’s my favorite color and used double sided carpet seam tape from Home Depot. Next one I do, I’ll try to add the handle one before piecing it all together; found it a bit challenging adding the eyelets once it was all folded. Thanks again! 👍🏽

Sherry, you are such a good instructor. I watched this video and went to the nearest DT. I was able to get the chevron pattern with “Live every moment…” came home and had a tote bag made in less than an hour. Today I went to 3 other DTs looking for the chef mat. Finally found and looking forward to make another.forgot to get carpet tape so need to pick some up tomorrow - it’s less expensive than my skid tape. Thank you!!!
