I've often found nice notebooks that just look fugly, so I've not bought them, despite the good quality... I'm going to be getting these in the future, and make them fit my style.

Wow, those are beautiful! Could you glue the elastic inside the back cover before you add the checked liner, so that the liner page would cover the glued-down elastic? I love how you explain the tools you use and make it look so easy. And can I say I love your blue manicure? Lovely presentation!
I really love the color coordination of the spine and the paper you selected to use for this project. It makes the finished journal look better than a high- end journal. I’m just blown away with all your beautiful creations. I ordered the file folders (and a few other items) to make the planner and notepad. I can’t wait to start on that one. Sherry, I could EASILY spend my entire day just watching all your videos. This is a wonderful, gorgeous project. My sister lives with her son & 5 grandchildren, and they, unfortunately are NOT grateful kids. My sister has had each one since birth & does everything for them and the kids do nothing to help. So, they think Aunt Nanci (me) is the mean sister, because I would never put up with how they are. I am going to make each one of them one of these 'gratitude' journals so they have to actually THINK about all they have & all their grandmother does for them. Going back through your video's because I want to make a boy journal and a girl journal for the Samaritans boxes I have to fill. And I did have a different one you did in mind, but after seeing this one I have decided to save this video so I can go back to it quick once my trim and scoreboard gets here. I have been trying to figure out a wow piece to put in the boxes for them since I've chosen to do one for each in the older group. And when I was in church this past Sunday watching the video about a lady who got a Samaritans box when she was a kid and telling her story, I then thought about making a journal for each one. I do hope the journals I will be making will be their wow piece to them. Considering my 1st paper crafting will be for 2 kids that I don't even know, I feel at ease that I can do this one for them and they will know this came straight from my heart to give them something personally made for them. Oh my goodness! How beautiful! I think I am going to make one for each of my grandchildren. They are homeschooled and write in a journal everyday.
I went to Hobby Lobby to get my journals. Dollar Tree didn't have any more. I found them on clearance for $1.49 so I considered it a win. I am making 5 of them for a sweet friend and her family. They made a difficult move and are now looking for a new home. Parents are doing OK, but the 4 Littles are do not understand the entire situation.

My sister and I made something similar years ago when we were into Stampin' Up! Yours are more affordable and, in my opinion, more elegant looking. Ours used Dollar Tree composition books and we stamped our cover pages.
We used strips of a velvety paper to cover the spine. We didn't do anything pretty on the inside at all. We also made our embellishments with ink, stamps, embossing powders etc.
