      Always close the handles on rachet straps
      That's how they lock 😅

    • @srhatfield
      @srhatfield 5 місяців тому

      2:00 Those straps are not attached correctly. They should be straight from the D ring to the axle, not crossed. Crossed straps depend on both straps being taught at all times. If one of them breaks, the other strap is worthless. In a "straight from D ring to axle" scenario, if 1 strap breaks, the other strap is still taught and will not let the car move forward (or backward, depending on the direction)

    Nice project, it looks straight and solid and rust free. Check the floorboards on an early Mustang. At first glance, the export brace is missing from the engine compartment, but those are easily available in the restoration parts world. It looks like a great car to start with no matter if you are planning on a restoration, or building to some sort of resto-mod. Compared to your other cars they are very easy to work on respond well to any upgrades. I have owned early Mustangs all of my life and have built and restored several.

      Thank you! Oh the fastback, I will add one of those as I love that look. But I couldn’t pass this one up. That was the issue with a lot of Mustangs.. crap conditions or done up ones for a lot of $$$

    Congratulations, a great year for Mustangs! I was an original purchaser of both a 1966 and 1968 Mustang and loved both of them, sadly had to sell them because I was going overseas, but wish I still had them! Can't wait to follow you on this restoration journey and watch it resurrect! Thanks for sharing!

    Congrats, very nice find. Exterior looks in good shape, the best thing is that it was in a garage, look close
    rear window for rust, front windshield, front cowl, but from the video it looks solid, the interior is okay but
    needs a good bit of work but that common with these cars, as far as the motor very good, solid V8 you will
    enjoy it.

    That is a B-E-A-Utiful 69' Mustang project car, congrats. The '69 Mustang is my dream car as well and I was lucky enough to find one last month at an auction in my home state of Michigan that is in really good shape. It just lacks a good majority of the interior.......including front seats. lol I'd put some pictures here but looks like that is not a comment section function.

    Holy cow! I absolutely LOVE EVERYTHING about that notchback Mustang. The color, the sweet afternarket wheels, the powerplant... literally everything is awesome! Love the interior too. Just get the seats professionally reconditioned... no big whoop, just a little pricey.
    Super easy restoration vehicle.
    I'd love to own that ride in a heartbeat!

    Nice! Overall it looks like a fun project without any major problems. Keep the wheels, the 'mag' design shape looks good with the car and dull finish looks like its original, but if its corrosion see if you can get them polished. Suggestion for the interior is to get the upholstery (seats front and rear) redone in a color that complements the blue paint. Black with some blue stitching would look good, but you live in Phoenix so that summer heat would me 'murder' on your backside if you left it out in the sun for any length of time. Enjoy it!

    Global West Suspension all around or Open Tracker Suspension. 👈 I owned a 69 Mustang Mach 1, .030 428 CJ, Shaker hood car back in the early 90's. Ran 11's. 780 Holley Double Pumper carb. Crane "C" cam , Aluminum Cobra Jet intake, Cylinder heads done, 4.11's with a built C6 transmission. It ran very strong.
    Still own an original numbers matching 67 Shelby GT 500. California car, rust free, never wrecked. Dad bought it 1985. My dad passed away in 2002. Even have the factory invoice from Shelby, when he was located in El Segundo, Ca.

    VERY PROUD OF YOU Doris!!!
    Now you're on the right track lolol.
    Every part you will need is available aftermarket for these cars... I think you'll enjoy working on this computer/ecu free machine much more than the new stuff.
    This is the primo condition project bang for buck...you get to make it your own from this point, not having to undo a bunch of stuff others put on it.
    I already anticipate a 67-69 Camaro coming to a garage near you! (parts are endless for Camaros too!).
    Awesome stuff!
    PS...the trick is to lower it 2-3 inches with coilovers while still FILLING the wheelwells with perfect wheels/tires. (think pro touring style, wheel/tire fitment is king!).

    Very cool 😎! At first blush, this '69 appears to be an excellent platform to restore/restify/restomod.
    DISC BRAKES to start, R&R motor/trans, and the rest is clean up and full cosmetics.
    The Old School Mags are the best looking for this Era. If they are 14", you will want to trade up to 15" (OEM Muscle Car look).
    '67 Coupe is my car. I've had mine since '86. Chased around in '65's &'66's in H.S. But a good Buddy got a '67 Big Block. That was a watershed moment for me as a Big Blue Oval Man. Yeah.
    😁!
    ALL I am going to say is this:... I flat stumbled upon mine in a nextdoor neighbors backyard in '86 helping the elderly man take some brush out to the trash can. I asked him about it. The Original owner said his "Goofy kid" had it towed back home about a year earlier. "It doesn't run anymore and I am mad at him about it. You can have it if you get it running....". That was all he said.....
    I went to Gearhead mode.
    Two days later and cap, rotor, points, condenser, set of wires, 8 spark plugs, Carb Kit and 5 gallons of gas, I backed out into the alley way with a notarized title in my hand and headed to MVD......
    I KNOW how you feel!!!
    By the way, Acapulco Blue was a Very Popular color for several years with many FoMoCo products.... My '67 was no exception!

    Congrats. My first ride was a 69 Mustang Sports Roof (fastback) 302 auto. Color was Burnt Orange Met. ( Indian Fire) with black standard interior. As others mentioned, yours looks like Acapulco Blue (code 6). Don't forget to purchase a Marti report build sheet so you know exactly how your car left the factory. Actually kind of nice seeing a coupe as they seem to be more rare today since the Sports Roof were more popular back in the day.

    Don't put in a rack and pinion, there's always a stiff spot turning the wheel. Put in a Borgeson integral power steering box to replace the terrible non-integral setup. It's 14:1 ratio beats 19:1 standard or 16:1 performance original equipment ratios.
    When you redo the interior, keep those original door speaker grills. They're for standard interior and are flat on the back side whereas deluxe interior grills are contoured on the back side to clearance the larger door panel.

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 місяців тому

      Thank you for that. I will look into that and see about the PS. It has some hoses for it, but no pump. Noted on the grills. Anything on there looked it good condition.

    • @ryanmuir6338
      @ryanmuir6338 5 місяців тому

      @@woman.driven Missing pump huh? I see Borgeson in your future. They use a different pump anyway, it's a GM Saginaw type. Guaranteed the slave cylinder will have bad seals after sitting all those years.
      They're in the way of headers too, and require a drop bracket. Turning the wheels when stationary with wide sticky tires puts a lot of strain on the bolts, and they sometimes rip right out of the frame. Best to ditch the whole primitive setup.

    I think those wheels suit that car. Then again, I'm a fan of Bullitt. They look like torq thrusts from American Racing. Some center caps and wheels are done!

      @woman.driven  5 місяців тому

      I agree. I do like that and will not get rid of them. I just want another set of wheels that I can switch around lol. Thanks for letting me know the brand style. I will look for the center caps 😀

    Build you a 302 boss engine or a 351 modified engine. Those engines definitely deliver muscle and mileage combined. Also if you do that keep a supply of u-joints and tools in the glove box. My dad had one back in the 70s and this comment came from him.

    Nice project car you may have said and i missed it but are you going to restore it original or do a restomod if you go restomod there are a lot of things you can do but im sure you know first thing i would do is upgrade that suspension, engine, transmission and rear end!

    • @woman.driven
      @woman.driven  5 місяців тому

      I suppose original outside/inside, but the suspension is for sure going to be upgraded along with the rear end. Likely a manual trans swap. As for the engine, I need to bring it back to life first lol
